An etherkiller but with a USB-C plug on the end?
>>
Why would it be 60 secs on 700w and 70 secs on 800w.... Close but yet too far...
>>
>>46937568
The iPhone is optimized for 700mhz wireless signals so it takes less time on a 700 microwave than an 800w one.

Yes, this. But how would you get people to do that themselves? You'd have to make it and send it to them which opens up a new can of worms.

"Through streamlined innovation, our Apple engineers have achieved a MacBook completely free of moving parts with a fan-less design, introducing Apple Zero Kinetic Interference™

At apple we know your life doesn't stop, so your
laptop shouldn't either. Waterproof for 10.6ft, the
new MacBook is resistant to spills, rain and can
even be used in the bath or shower so you can be ready can whenever inspiration hits."

It'll need tidying up a bit.

>>
>Not trolling on the smart watch instead
Automatic watches of yesteryear were charged by regular use and by spinning. The new Apple Watch can be charged through similar means through proprietary thermokinetic charging. All that needs to be done is a run through the washer and dryer.

Use their marketing speak, too:

Not just a thinner display. A better display.

To create the thrilling new experience of Macbook, we combined the power and versatility of Mac with the intuitive and elegant design of iPad. So you get the best of both worlds.

With the new Force Touch Retina Display, you can experience the fluidity of iPad on a trackpad or the precision of Mac on a touchscreen. The Force Touch Retina display is engineered to deliver precise touchscreen control for tactile feedback. So you get a responsive click anywhere on the screen. The screen comes equipped with force sensors, allowing it to detect how much force you're applying. You can experience your Mac as never before.

The revolutionary Flip Hinge allows you to use Macbook as either a laptop or a tablet. So you have power when you need it and portability when you don't. Simply fold back the Retina display to enable Force Touch on the display. Our revolutionary MagLatch prevents accidentally folding the screen. So your computer responds to what you want.

Our fake marketing must be precisely designed to use gratuitous adjectives and unnecessary sentence fragments. So it seems like Apple. This is just a rough draft and can be improved to be much better. So it will fool all those moronic sheep who bought this garbage.

>>
>>46951171

I was intending to say you have power when you need power and portability when you're doing more casual things which don't need power.

It is worded strangely, though. I've since edited that line on my local copy to read:

>Power, portability, and the magic of Force Touch Retina. A full-size touchscreen experience in our smallest notebook ever. The power of Mac, at your fingertips.

Gotta have grammatically unnecessary commas. Apple loves those.
>>
>>46951304

Nah. Apple would never ask users to use pliers. Never ever ever ever under any circumstances. Macbooks don't even have user-replaceable batteries, so there's no way they'd want you within five miles of it with pliers.

You *could* claim that it is compatible with some other type of plug that looks like it might fit but would break it. MicroUSB, perhaps?
>>
>>46950995

I'd avoid cross-branding it with the iPad, they're two different things and I don't think Apple would take it from this angle.

Yeah. I've redone most of this on a local copy, which I will post at about 4:00 EST.

Another thing I'm doing is making it more general marketing as opposed to just marketing of one feature. That way it might be a bit less obvious it's fake. The computer-destroying bullshit will show up alongside actual things people can verify from other sources.

So I'm rewriting this entire page:
https://www.apple.com/macbook/
It'll contain actual information with one or two bits of nonsense which will ruin the machine.

Here is one potentially major problem: when folding the screen back, the keyboard will be exposed. What happens when you press buttons in tablet mode?

My suggestion is to clone the Thinkpad Yoga. It retracts the keys when in tablet mode so you can't accidentally press them. We could claim it's called Butterfly because the keyboard emerged when you go back to notebook mode like a butterfly coming from a cocoon, but I'm having difficulty making that sound good in the writing.

I'm working something about the keyboard hiding when you fold the screen into my fake ad copy.

We need so standardize our terms. What is the hinge called? What is the screen called? What is the keyboard called? What is the "flipping" feature called? What is the tablet mode called? Exactly what does this "flipping" feature do?

I think Butterfly is the best option for the hinge and the "flipping" feature, but it is already taken by the keyboard. So we either need to find some convincing way of renaming the keyboard or we need another name for the "flipping". I would say we should call the feature Revolve because it sounds appropriate, gives us lots of great opportunities for lines about how Revolutionary it is, and isn't already taken. If we call it Revolve, Google searches for "Revolve MacBook" will find our stuff. If we call it Butterfly, Google searches for "Butterfly MacBook" will find the keyboard.

Here is my tentative list. We can change this as needed, but consistency is vitally important.

The flipping feature is called Revolve. Revolve activates Force Touch on the display and disables the keyboard and trackpad. In order to keep the keyboard from being damaged or from being annoying, the keys retract when in tablet mode like the Thinkpad Yoga.
The hinge is called the Revolve Hinge.
The tablet mode doesn't need a special name.
The Revolve Hinge comes with a special latch called MagLatch, like MagSafe. This latch will keep the screen from accidentally reversing (explaining the resistance when breaking) and will hold the screen flat against the body in tablet mode.

>>46951902

That's great.

My only complaint is that the reflections are off. The screen should reflect the back of the other screen, but it looks transparent instead. The logo reflection is all wrong. But very well-designed with just some polish needed.

I would also suggest "Revolutionary. Literally." rather than "Literally revolutionary", but that's not a biggie.

Here's my revised fake copy:

>The Best of Both Worlds

To create the thrilling new experience of MacBook, we combined the power and precision of a Force Touch trackpad with the intuitive versatility of the new Multi-Touch Retina display. You can experience the portability and fludity of a touchscreen on Mac and the precise control of Mac on a touchscreen. So you get the best of both worlds.

The Multi-Touch Retina display is engineered to deliver precise control. Using the same technology as Force Touch, MacBook instantly responds to pressure and provides haptic feedback. The intuitive Multi-Touch gestures Mac users love have been brought to a touchscreen for the first time. You can experience your Mac as never before.

>The revolutionary Butterfly Hinge allows you freedom to use the Macbook the way you want. Simply fold back the Retina display and the Force Touch system will activate, allowing an enthralling Multi-Touch experience. The MagLatch technology prevents accidental folding and securely locks the display when using the touchscreen. So your MacBook always does what you want. Simply bring the display forward to deactivate the touschscreen and return to the Mac experience you know and love.

Power, portability, and the magic of Multi-Touch Retina with Force Touch. A full-size touchscreen experience in our smallest notebook ever. The power of Mac at your fingertips, wherever you are.

I'm fairly happy with the parts in black. The greentext still needs some work.

I did the poll, but I don't think mentioning the hinge as a hinge is a good idea. I think it should be mentioned (ofc), but only that after the snap or click (or something), the screen will <insert something it'll do>.

Also, butterfly is not good. They introduced it in their name, and after all this making up, it has to work. We should use a simple name (like the poll mentioned, something like Flip (which is a bit blunt/unclassy) or Revolve or whatever).

exactly

/b/ has so many users that it therefore has many retards. Whatever ideas get posted there will instantly be posted onto social media by people wanting to be the "I contributed to le maymay xD" guy, so we really need to make sure that the non-believable stuff gets filtered out before /b/ sees it.
>>
>>46953716

I think we already settled on this 180 screen-cracking idea. We just have to find *really good* way to convince macfags that "it just feels like it won't open any more, you really have to apply force"
>>
>>46953877
We have the idea, I'll give you that. But we still don't have many _believable_ images to post around. Just having one or two will mean that once this gets discovered it will be instantly recognizable. If we have like 10 of them then it might last a bit longer. A lot of good posts are made. Lot's of ideas mentioned and a lot of names. Nothing conclusive, that's why there isn't much more than what a couple of other g's & I did.
>>
>>46954039
You could fit it in the description pretty easily, something like "Our innovative use of neodymium magnets ensure that Flip takes place only when necessary, allowing you to have convenience as well as productivity." I don't fucking know.
>>
>>46953934

I ran some polls. The results are decent, but not all are conclusive. Things which are pretty conclusive will be black. Things which are still undecided are green, with the level of uncertainty proportional to how many arrows there are in front. I'll summarize:

The feature is called Butterfly.
The latch (if we decide to use one) is called MagLatch.
The keyboard is still called Butterfly. We will not try to avoid confusion with a fake name
Flipping the screen enables the touchscreen.
>Flipping the screen disables the keyboard and trackpad.
>The screen has Force Touch, not just regular multitouch.
>There is a magnetic latch which prevents accidentally flipping the screen (explains the resistance)
>>The feature uses a hinge called a Butterfly hinge.
>>>The screen is called Multi-Touch Retina.
>>>>The keyboard and the new feature are called Butterfly because they're related. We'll mention Butterfly the tablet mode and Butterfly the keyboard as if they're related.
>>
>>46954036
How about that what you just did (with some improvements of course) laying on top of normally opened one?
Would macfags understand that?
>>
>>46954071
I like it.
>>
>>46954160
i don't
>>
>>46954036

The screen is on the wrong side and it's aliased to hell and back.

Something like that would look good, but with the keyboard hidden on the bottom and done a bit better.

>>46954071

I like it. Why don't you make a poll sometime to see if we'll agree to use it?
>>
>>46954156
How about calling the hinge 'Wing' or something relevant if you're going for 'Butterfly' as the overall name? MagLatch sounds horrible and not very Apple-ish because it' doesn't sound nice or simple.
>>
>>46954205
yep, without the keyboard and a proper screen
>>
>>46954162

The less syllables the better when it comes to this stuff. iFold sounds a bit silly, but its sort of like the device saying "hey look, iFold!"
Could be used in a good way maybe, though I like the simplicity of just "Fold"
>>
>>46954160
yes its possible not that hard too
>>
>>46954217

It was inspired by MagSafe. I agree that it isn't a good name.

I think most people are in agreement that we're going by polls because we need to be consistent. Propose a better name and we'll vote on it, and if it does better than MagLatch we'll use it.

Does that sound reasonable?
>>
>>46954245
iFold, in my opinion, sounds like a product more than anything. Fold sounds like a feature and is similar to the things that have worked in the past, i.e Wave
>>
I used to think wireless charging was a gimmick, but these days I can see how it would be handy and will probably only gain in popularity over time. However, I feel that charging docks are a more efficient and aesthetically superior option. Especially now that we have USB Type-C, which can carry video, audio data, and power all at the same time, the possibilities for interconnection are huge.
>>
Yes fold is way better than butterfly, especially because butterfly is taken... its great complexity of two features sharing a name is way too hard for macfags
>>
>>46954286

Yeah. true, part of the reason i prefer just "Fold" as well
>>
>>46954279
Well if everyone agrees one one thing it would be unfair to randomly switch but I'm just saying MagLatch doesnt sound as 'nice' as Apple stuff normally does which could make the entire thing look fake
>>
>>46954323
We shouldn't call it anything. Just mention the snap macfags will hear like it's no biggie
>>
>>46954355
What if the feature was called Click, and the user has to push the screen until it clicks into place? That implies that the resistance they feel is just a build up to the 'click' (aka their screen snapping off) so they keep going
>>
>>46954378

Or "Snap"
>>
>>46954393
I was going to say Snap instead of Click, but maybe the word Snap could put the idea of actually snapping the screen off into the viewer's head?
>>
>>46954378
that is so fucking close
>>
>>46954410
Yeah as soon as I read it back it sounded too vicious

What about "Flex"

I wonder if there's a way to also imply that the action has to be relatively fast because that's how it knows you want to go into tablet mode? That way it is a guaranteed broken screen. It would also make the users who attempt to do it slowly think "oh, right, I have to do it fast to make it work"
>>
>>46954448

Now make it look like the Apple logo & sleek
>>
>>46954442
that may imply something like the LG G flex has, we dont want that, the iphone 6 already has it
>>
>>46954485
Well I still think Fold is good
>>
>>46953042
Fuck. I may or may not have posted it to /r/4chan for upboats. Don't worry, they won't spread it (tards might if it reaches all)

We aren't aiming for reddit, there's too many people on there who'll stop them. Facebook & Twitter though, there's probably a few people who'll bite there.
>>
>>46954564
Ya beat me to it, I'm doing it on my desktop though with the included pictures, so I figure mine's better quality.
>>
>>46939069
so why can't apple do this?
