New battlestation thread! also my first time posting this. r8 it m8
Looks nice and cozy.
Shitstation coming through.
What's a decent tablet for pc that won't rape my wallet? I want to get back into being a drawfag
Mind me asking why that left speaker isn't sitting on the desk? I'm sure you've got a valid reason, just curious as there's loads of space! Will post after a very quick clean up. Shitty student battlestation coming up!
Why are you not as popular as Justin Bieber/Kesha/Britney Spears?
Because your voice sucks shit and your music is mediocre as fuck. How about stop wasting your time on making music and do something more productive?
Shitty student setup incoming.
For anyone asking about the audio stuff, to be honest, wish I had a good answer to it, love the headphones so I bought them, bought the yeti in the background and then got a fantastic deal on the Blue Spark so I bought it. Just prefer having nice headphones and a substantial mic than using a headset!
I want to get some sort of LED lighting to put behind the monitors but I don't know where to start.
Transistor, fucking incredible. Also you can get LED strips off of ebay and amazon, I think they're meant for cars but they'd work just as well attached to a monitor. Also nice desk, shame about the speaker placement but I'm no stranger to lack of space and if you're like me you use headphones 99% of the time anyway!
I got one of those cheap Chinese strips of LEDs off of Amazon. They're not super high quality, but I didn't expect that. They still have a pretty strong light, dimmable, you can manually adjust the RGB, preset colour sequences too.
heres mine, i know how 5.1 surround sound works but i havent had time to run the cables and mount the rear speakers yet.
desk is an ikea gallant, someone asked me before, its the smaller version
Nobodies been rating lately, so I guess I'll give it a go.
Lighting seems nice and comfortable, like your choice in decor. Clean and solid, 9/10
Cute ass dog sleeping next to your lizard. Also that lizard looks smug as fuck. Love the view you have, but I'd be worried about people watching me jerk it. Like the set up of your tank / desk. 7/10
Nigga are you a vampire? Looks like you're enjoying some best weather though. I'd saddle in, grab some tea and play vidya. Can't really see enough to rate it, though.
Nice as always, see you finally got some speaker stands. Not have a mousepad tickles my autism for some reason. 9/10
Get some headphone stands, man. That keyboard is something. Not really my taste, but my taste is objectively shit. 6/10
Would look really good with some soft leds. Nice, simple and clean. 8/10
Love this lighting. The lego stand doesn't seem to fit the rest of the scene, but hey man, different strokes for different folks. 7/10
Find some room to spread your speakers out man, it'll make a world of difference. Doesn't look like there's much leg room either. A bigger desk would make this TONS better. 5/10
Looks nice and lived in. That mouse is some sci fi shit or something man. 8/10
Why do you have an empty shelf, man? Looks really cozy though. 7/10
Bully my shitstation if you wanna
not a fan of a subwoofer with monitor setups
you should also get a larger desk so it looks better/more organised
literally cannot see anything here
audio gear always a plus. get some better monitors though
and a bigger desk so you can fit all your shit on there
slick and clean. same led light controller as me.
not a fan of the apple notebook, but eh i assume you need it for work or college or whatevs
decent from what i can even see
clean as fuck. well organised and well setup
>KEF LS50 or something
lol. do you buy based on biased reviews or what?
8/10 with proper speakers/'phones, 5/10 currently. a waste of money bro.
riced with a touch of personality. disliking the additional board underneath your left monitor aswell
get a mousepad that spans your desk and it's a 7/10
speaker placement and headphone stand are obnoxious. otherwise nice and clean setup. desknamepls? 6.5/10
gotta do what you can with limited space amirite. 6/10
i don't recommend cheap 5.1 systems. no mids and lows are way too overpowering. otherwise clean desk albeit a bit fucking red. dim the light or change your wallpaper to something dark red bro
a fuckton of gear/10
where's your monitors? otherwise you can't be serious with that traktor lol
looks cozy as FUCK dowant
TY for rate. (my setup: >>46909467)
Kek to the keyboard, not really my taste either, it's a Das Ultimate so it originally had no key letterings but my girlfriend had to do some work on my pc this weekend so I needed to swap out the keys and this is all I could find! Trying to be a smug superior prick who doesn't need key printings has worked against me so many times. Lesson learned. And as for headphone stands any cheap-ish recommendations?
Did you get your driver's license?
Yeah I'd rate but I'm meant to be working...I have a nice blind that I shut, but I'm certain that people have seen me whacking it/generally naked a few times. Thanks for the rate m8
Yeah the laptop is quite handy, does what I need just fine at the moment. Other financial shit always gets in the way of building a desktop/upgrading everything so I'm hoping for a good year. Going to wait till R9 300 and see what happens from there.
Well the new Hobbit film is just as shit as the other two.
>literally cannot see anything here
Yeeeeeah boy, I take the best battlestation pics
pic related is why i don't like subs. it somehow sounds off to me. i've used a wide range of monitors, both with (ADAM Sub15) and without sub, and i settled on these which give me plenty of low.
hifi sound is biased/veiled bro. there's a decent amount of cheap monitors out there. depending on if you even have money/want to spend some i can recommend some in different price ranged
my hero. thanks bro
share cigs and beer pls
damn bro you're not giving me much to work with
maybe try to look at used ADAM A5/A5X or Event 2020. admittedly the Events are kinda biased towards the lower end and mids are not as detailed as they should, but i can't really recommend much more. otherwise literally rokit 6's are your only decent option. they're also decent and give you more punch than you'd expect, but have better mids than the 2020 and are more detailed as well.
they're fine. they're not as good as similarly priced yamahas/adams or similarly sized genelecs, but definitely not as bad as a lot of people here would like you to believe.
just give them a listen bro
To do list:
>nuke the table
>nuke the shelf
>organize the cableclutter
>go to town to get new ones
>get proper lighting
>get a new chair: Arozzi Monza yellow/black
>think of painting the wall
i have so much shit to do with this shitstation
oh yeah and clean up, this place is a fucking mess
thanks, i finished this build recently
here's a closer look if you're insterested
Very clean and I love the floors. Walls need some color tho, should make the trip to Lowes to check out color choices. Earthy or cool mitebcool.
Never saw this before, I like it. Would be better if speakers were equidistant, and if you didn't have paneled walls.
>Cacti are love. Cacti are life.
I like this picture. Is than an RS500 or whatever they're called? I had that model.
Chair looks pretty damn cozy.
>r u a gurafe
Would be higher if you had better space utilization. I really like the door, actually. Steering wheel seems uncomfortably high.
>How NOT to set up surround
Not bad, just cluttered/messy feeling. A lot goin on.
Always liked this. Inspired my shelf idea, originally.
Another favorite of mine. Wish your speakers were else where though.
How's that mic? Thinking about getting one.
>Actually just a 4.5/10
I think I like this picture more.
>Ducky Shine 3 brofist
well.. i dont really "sing" but i record my voice and edit it for music i make. And im working on trying to sing but im not really great at it.
they are equidistant from the monitor and the place i sit, i dont sit in the middle of my table, cant really do much to walls :D
Yeah I live in a condo so space is limited with two people. 99.9% headphones. ;)
Ohh yeah they're not too expensive even in Canada, will definitely get RGB ones!
That would be interesting, even if it just underlays the keyboard, hopefully I'll get a bigger desk sometime in the future though.
The monitors are at eye level when sitting in the chair?
Thanks, I think that the cacti are a nice little touch
Yeah, I'd recommend them as long as they're cheap. I got 5 meters for £16, and you can cut them to size. Not sure how that works out in $ though, sorry.
Oh, I didn't notice. All is well then, carry on!
My eyes are at around 1/5th from top-down. I'm comfortable with that height, don't really like them higher.
I need more. Love the desert and related plants. Going to AZ sometime in August for a week or two.
>>Actually just a 4.5/10
I understand anon.
Even if you tried you could never accumulate the amount of shit I do.
Yeah, I purposely put mine further back for leg room.
I'll look into the Mic. It'll mostly be for chatting in XBL parties with friends, or web chatting with friends off in other places.
>TFW XBL party chat coming integrated to Win 10.
Chair was 38GBP on amazon would you believe? Don't know if i can even transport it home at the end of this year so if anyone wants that chair around the liverpool area feel free!
Yeah, it's not a bad place.
Although, I've been considering doing something custom to put the PC in a large drawer on the right side. Maybe sell the case. We'll see.
Not a bad price at all! I'm thinking about getting a new chair, but mine is still in good shape/comfortable.
I've got some clutter elsewhere, but, I go through it now and then to keep it minimized. Good luck, anon. Don't dead.
Yeah, you should be happy with it. I feel like it would almost be a shame to sell the case, it looks great and fits in with the rest of the room. However, I do understand that making a custom drawer thing could be a hassle/challenge/cost as much as a new case.
Why does everyone on /g/ hate clutter.
I physically cannot stand minimalistic clinical looking rooms.
I have a physical phobia of them! I egt paranoid & stressed in empty & clean rooms.
God only knows why!
>You're an asshole.
Noted. In which post are you referencing in particular?
I don't like clutter because I don't like mess. That's just me.
I probably won't, if I do for a while.
I could buy one, but I'm about to buy an Asgard 2 and maybe some HD 800's. So, cash will be spent on that for now.
Can anybody in this thread recommend a tray of some kind that I can attach or drill into the underside of my desk, kind of like a power strip caddy or something?
I know it exists but I'm blanking on the right google search terms to find one.
I've got this. It was like $20.
unfortunately, i'm too plebian to use anything else than a windows
8.1 it is
your set would almost look like something i'd put together, only a bit more stuff on the top shelf and maybe more unified lighting on the top.
also less storage space, i tend to shove the drawers full of irrelevant crap
i mistook you for the dude who lives in the shed
man, if you got this badly mixed please do something about your set
I really need some sick anime wall scrolls to flesh out this room or something.
i'm personally a messy person, but goddamn it pleases the eyes when there's no dangling shit allover the place.
i too get sometimes stressed about empty places, so my place is usually jam-packed with stuff, even the walls
but the cables need to be clean, so does the cable-management inside a pc
There are some great cheap remote controlled strips on eBay... But look for the ones that are segmented. You can build a picture frame of them basically on the back of each monitor. They have little jumper cables between each segment.
I live in Canada, and the view is of a shitty walmart parking lot. Though if I stand at an angle real close to the window I can see part of the downtown core.
The snow might make it look a little comfy I guess but come spring it'll just be concrete and cars.
Guise Im somewhat poor and I have few questions.
I see few anons here have midi controllers,so I saved some cash and I will be getting Akai LPK25 for $62,but I am beginner and I know my way around Ableton.Fuck me but playing simple tunes on 8 keys on my laptops keyboard its hard and some presses dont register.Am I making a mistake for getting a midi controller?
Nice room, tidy, although speaker arrangements seem a bit improvised
Quite hard to see but looks nice and comfy
Clean, nice monitor stand/arm. Desk seems kind of shiny?
Looks nice but 2murky4me
As always, I like
Nice chair, seems organised
Making the most of a small space? I like it though
The usual, very nice
I actually quite like it. Wheel seems high up though.
Quite clean, work out your speaker arrangements
Quite a big workspace, looks nice to be at
Comfy, good cable management
Nice and clean. I like it.
As usual I like
I have nothing to say
It would be OK-ish without the beers and cancer sticks
>the smugness of having quit
Better picture, making the most of what you've got?
Lots of potential, I like the colours of your build, actually. You've got good plans, just put them into action and you'll be fine mate.
I like a lot. Clean.
Clean but feels almost cramped
I like this one as usual, clean. What speakers?
With better cable management I'd imagine it's decent
I love yours, could we see more of it though?
Nice equipment, nice desk.
Clean, I love the look of that case. Enthoo, right?
And of course here's me for reference >>46909393
Okay, history picture. Enjoy my shitty blog post, /g/.
I'm thinking about putting some Gundam model kits, or military aircraft model kits up there. Or maybe even a rifle or two. Also considering putting sound foam behind my monitors. Some of my drawers are cluttered, but it's grouped into relevant stuff per drawer. Like one has all sleeving supplies, one has all random tools/supplies, one has pens and paper and my book/journal. One had all my keyboard pieces and accessories.
No worries, and thanks for the speaker info.
The MacBook is actually good for what I use it for, basically word processing, maybe light photoshop and shitposting from time to time. Take it into uni to write notes with quite often. I don't really need the power but I got it cheap and can't complain. I'm not really into ricing and that so it's good for me.
i like this one
this one too
and this one
this one is cool
i really like this one for some reason
very nice minus the keyboard
Where are you going to fit that?
I wouldn't say obsessive. Just typical shit posting. I didn't remember the dates, I just found them in the file EXIF's. I am a frequent poster though, I like the conversation and seeing new ideas/layouts to make my desk more comfortable.
Well, they're all pretty subjective, aesthetically. Also, size obviously varies massively. The other guy is right, Ikea is a good place to start.
The good thing with their desks is that you can always keep the legs and get a new/bigger desktop. For example, I'm probably going to get a 200cm one to stretch all the way to the end of my lizard's vivarium, and then reattach the legs.
Sup guys, I'm going to be moving into a new house soon and I will be able to paint my walls. I was thinking about doing a gray/white theme in my pic but I'm not sure. If you could repaint your wall what color would it be? I am tired of white.
If you want cheap looks, finishes that wear out quickly, edges that fray, and weak construction go with Ikea. If you want good construction, lasting materials, great looks, and the ability to refinish the desk then buy a wooden desk. Go on craigslist and find one, source your own table top and make it, or go to an actual furniture store and find a desk you like.
Linnmon or whatever cheap particle board desks sold at ikea are terrible unless you are just buying a cheap desk when you know you will move out in a year and you can trash the desk. Even so, its so much cheaper to buy used on craigslist than to purchase from ikea. Almost every station that uses ikea furniture looks cheap and lazy.
THIS IS A /g/ BATTLESTATIONS THREAD
thE TONLY TECHNOLOGY i SEE IS A SCRREEN A MACBOOK AND ONE SPEAKER WITH SEEMINGLY NO PLACMENT THAT MAKES SENSE.!
wHY IS THE CHAIR ON O FUZZY RUG i ALMOST BROKE MY ARM ON A SIMILAR SETUP!
IVE SEEN SOME BLAND SHIT ON THIS BOARD BUT THIS ISN'T EVEN TRYING!
That's a really fucking nice room, I'd be happy there. Pretty happy with my walls, luckily I could paint them. Here's an angle that's not my desk to show the colour. Goes nicely with everything in here but isn't too colourful.

Is my computer good?
Damn it I wrote a little thing for every station on the thread, but fireshit crashed when I tried to drop in my image, so here are some arbitrary numbers that might represent how much I like your shit.
I want to I get an amp small enough to fit on my desktop, but still provide plenty of power.
is that what your mom told you?
Masturbating is just one of many ways to control your sexual lust.
Also enjoy fucking your girlfriend and listeting to her useless problems.
Like it, clean, good colours, lighting nice. Magic mouse somewhat questionable but it could be worse I guess.
Don't want to be ignorant, but is that a Kaiju on the right hand speaker? Also, what speakers are they? I'm on the hunt for some, hopefully to buy soon. Couldn't recommend an amp though.
This wasn't me how could I possibly be a normalfag I have a GE figure on my desk for heaven's sake.
As for masturbation I've checked by standing in that parking lot to see if I could see into my window (at night with the lights on inside) and I couldn't so I should be good.
Not him, but I had the Monitor 40's for a while. And then the 70's, with the CS-10 or whatever the speaker was. Not bad for the price.
This is not me. I live on the 21st floor of this building, windows are slightly tinted as it is with most buildings so it is hard to look inside. Though i don't worry about people looking in because i don't ever masturbate. I'm thinking about getting curtains to block out the sun in the mornings since this window faces east.
These aren't me. It's obviously a south facing window and you can do some simple trig to see there is no way I'm the 21st floor of a building. I'm not thinking about getting curtains because they have already been ordered I'm just awaiting installation. I do masturbate but only electronically because of the incident. If someone were to see me doing it they would be scarred for life.
first time posting since getting my first job after graduating and settling in to my new place (even though I have to move in 4 months again anyway)
also yes the cables are a nightmare I know, I have no idea how to keep it tidy when everything has multiple connections going everywhere and I have to move again. So sick of moving, making sure when I move again that the landlord won't kick me out again because they ballsed up their council tax.
I did my best, excuse the europoor english.
If only my portrait monitor were 1440p
>1440p for secondary
>Not wanting to replace that shit CRT
I don't understand. I'm really not trying to be mean, but what the hell is wrong with your logic center inside that head of yours?
You cunts always making threads when I'm asleep....
>tfw NZ is always is late to the party
alright desk. pic quality is p shit. not a fan of the speaker placement.
pic is bad. the pictures don't actually show much of your station itself.
looks nice. desk could be a bit larger, seem like it would help.
dorm sation 7/10
take better pic
get a headphone stand. nice lich. desk is pretty meh
not a fan of the space. has potential. bg pic?
speakers are nasty. bigger desk.
lot of stuff, but seems pretty organized
tidy up. maybe new desk.
i like it more. seems like you took my advice
its alright. seems a bit cramped.
nice and simple
nice mousepad. have the same one. it's super full of nasty stuff though
not a fan of timeline pics.
love the desk
nice and simple
what's the picture on the wall?
its ok. take a better picture.
love the red
desk has a bit too much on it. rest is great.
looks alright. nice plant
the pictures hung on the walls could be better organized
I might, someday.
>Buy a 750ti (4gb STIX version looks interesting, need to read up on that GPU)
>Buy a seperate numpad, wireless maybe
>Webcam either 720 or 1080p so whenever the 3d waifu wants to skype I won't have to take out the ol' laptop for a webcam
>/g/ qualified speakers (pls suggest something)
>WD Green 2TB intern, for more storage
>Update manga library with new releases etc.
After looking at these threads for a while I have a question about speaker placement. Isn't it bad to have your speakers less than 3 feet away from your head?
I don't know much about ideal placement, but wouldn't it not sound as good being so close to your head?
7.5/10, tho all "nerdy shit gives the whole room a nice atmosphere".
>what's the picture on the wall?
I have no real idea, it was a gift.
I originally intended to put nerdy in quotes, but really it is the most accurate description in this case. Guess I forgot to remove one of them.
Also, I have no idea why the picture was uploaded sideways.
It is fairly cramped but I make use of what space I have.
I got my astro's for free but I wouldn't actually pay for them if I had to.
muh woodeverything. must be as bad as white walls. >tfw :(
You need some natural light in your pictures mang. flash makes your room look like shit and it's probably not that bad tbh.
nice room. and by nice room i just am jealous that you have such a spacious room. everything else is kinda mediocre lookin'
>What tablet is that?
Yeah but might switch back to windows soon. :(
>Are you a grill?
No but I am a girl.
Not even close bby.
I apologize for the quality, I'm shit with taking photos in low light but I only keep the lamp on in here, not the overhead lights, because it doesn't look nice with the overhead on.
There's a TV above me but nothing is plugged into it because one of my GPUs broke, as soon as that 780 comes back from EVGA the right monitor and TV will be working again.
Actually yeah I do live in florida, orlando specifically.
>taking me seriously
lawd have mercy
The speakers are okay, overpriced, but i paid for looks over performance.
>>tweeters not in ear height
Why are people so autistic about this shit?
Sure, it's the optimal placement but it's not like any other location COMPLETELY FUCKS UP the whole thing to the point where you hear distorted sounds instead of music.
went back and brightened the top image a bit so it's visible.
I feel like your room is either detested or somewhat liked, but people wouldn't want to say that they like it. I personally don't, but it looks comfy (apart from the shit) and probably nice if you're into that aesthetic.
>attempting to be fair and sympathetic on 4chan
You have no fucking idea how sound works.
Try this, play some music, then move your head up and down. You'll hear massive flange like distortion.
Also, OP has one speaker in a corner. Its shit.
You're right, I have no idea how sound works.
I tried doing what you said and it's true, I can notice a difference but I stand by what I said originally: having them at ear level is optimal, having them in other location decreases quality but it's not absolutely terrible shit, unacceptably bad.
Unless you're an audiophile. Not everyone is an audiophile.
