IPS vs TN Anyone know when a 1080p 24'' IPS monitor

Don't buy gsync until freesync comes out.

At the moment gsync is the only adaptive refresh rate on the market, so they command a massive price premium for them. Not to mention that gsync will never be cheaper than freesync purely because nvidia has a $200 DRM module in the monitor that you pay for.

Adaptive refresh rate is extremely young.

I was originally going for TN, but after reading horror stories about it on the internet, im really hesitant to spend 600€+ on a monitor with colors and image quality i wont like.

Its a really bad time to be in when it comes to monitor technology. One way or another i feel like im wasting my money or precious time waiting for a decent one to come out.

I need something with good blacks but the only VA panel I see is that forts or whatever at 24" 1080. Is there anything bigger.

How bad is it to get a 35-40 inch plasma tv? I'd still be stuck at 1080.

There already is a 24" 144Hz g sync monitor out. It's an acer or Asus I can't rememeber though. There's also a 27" and 28" but I think they are 1440p and 4k.

My current monitor is 8 years old and its starting to die out. I dont know how much longer i can wait for an IPS monitor to come out.

We're still in the early adoption/format war stage of G-sync/Freesync. Wait until the dust settles before you shell out a ton of money. You don't want to be like those people who own HD-DVD players.

I get 50-60fps in CS:GO at 1440p with an AMD 5850 from 2009. I came very close to getting a 970 during the Christmas sales but had to spend the money to fix my car instead. I was pissed at the time but now I'm very glad I avoided that fiasco.

A card with gimped architecture isn't "fine" at any resolution.

I have a 780 with an i7 930 @ 4ghz.
Only do 1080p gaming. Want to upgrade to 1440p. Will I be able to handle it or should I just stay on 1080p?

Gee, you sure are stupid. IPS is too slow for that, no matter how high you crank the frequency, the crystals won't shift faster.

Get pic related and a good enough graphics card to achieve stable 120fps. Gsync would be useless then anyway.
