You do realize that the SoC is not the only part that draws power and low stress power consumption is probably the most retarded way to test maximum power draw. Modern chips ether turn off parts that aren't needed or set them into a low power state. That plus the fact that the SoC in the original iPad Air is a 28nm part while the SoC in the iPad Air 2 is a 20nm part is more than enough to hide an increase in power consumption during low stress.

X1 is not even close to being the fastest SOC. The ps4 SOC is the fastest and it care out a year and a half ago.

Even carrizo will be magnitudes faster due to memory performance and power ceiling as well as CPU performance.

Nvidia has two clients for their car computers. Audi and Tesla. Audi is offering it as an option on just a couple models starting in 2016.

Qualcomm is also doing the self driving computer thing, except they have Mercedes, Cadillac, and Honda as confirmed clients. Honda wants to put the systems in every vehicle. Qualcomm stated they had more partnerships in the works.
