Regarding speaker placement of OP:

If I can find a place to put my tower, I'd probably put the FL/FR, on the desk. The wouldn't fit at an angle facing me though, so they would need to be straight. I've also considered, for when I get my mount, putting the center under the monitors in the front. But that would leave the monitors higher than I'd like.

Again, it really doesn't make nearly as large a difference as you'd think. I do have a higher quality stereo setup, but it's elsewhere as I lack the space here. It's used pretty much only for gaming. And works great for that. I'm looking at getting HD 800's for my desk.

And speaker stands, would probably work, but also look like ass.

Yeah it was. However I don't have any money to buy a little desk for this case, and it's not big enough to stand up on its own on carpet floor. Plus I have cats, so that's a thing. And monitor arm will come much later unless I can get some work (which i don't think is likely).
