100% secure electro station

nah that shit would still get fucked by earthquakes.
>>
There's no such thing as 100% protection against accidents, brah
>>
>>46735317
but it's not going to do anything, even if it melts down, it's all underground, Cover up the entrance and be done with it.
>>
>>46735281
Keeping water in concrete reservoirs for long periods of time is a bad idea, concrete is porous, that shit would have infiltrations all over in 20 years.

Go learn what poor maintenance does to concrete dams, and then look at your picture again.

or just don't use fission at all and invest heavily into fusion research so everyone can have cheap safe power.

Pick one.

Or you can use a design that is impossible to meltdown.

Where the does the steam travel to once water cools the reactor.

Atleast we could build another sarcophagus in chernobil and acess the contaminated area If this shit goes to the shitter fixing it is near impossible and containing any leakage in radioactive material is impossible and will automaticly infiltrate the water and the soil.

Perfection would be harnessing the power of the sun , send it to outer space and wirelessly acessing it's power, without any radiation.
>>
>>46735281
so you heat up the water with the reactors but where is your heat exchange and steam turbine generator? you're fucking retarded all this would do is heat up the water in the event of a meltdown and explode, probably in a geyser and into the groundwater.
>>
>>46736625
You don't want the water steam to leave, you want that shit in a closed system so you can re-use it.
OPs incredible design is still shit though.
>>
>>46735396
He's probably saying its 0% likely to become a Chernobyl

>>

at first I thought this was a real proposal then I realized this is OPs creation. Stick to web development you cuck and leave the actual work to the men.
>no heat exchange
>ayyy lmao

when it comes to radiation If the concrete is fairly thick then the depth of penetration can be minimized. That being said a subterranean facility of this caliber would offer little to any benefits than one on the surface other than it being out of mind an sight.
>>
No-one has mentioned the critical flaw (pun intended) which is that water is a neutron moderator.
>>
>>46735281
Looks like a stupid idea to be honest.

Instead of trying to safe guard current/old technology nuclear reactors, we should be looking at different designs altogether and maybe move towards fusion

http://www.technologyreview.com/news/531836/does-lockheed-martin-really-have-a-breakthrough-fusion-machine/
or thorium reactors..idk..

Besides, what would you do with the super heated water eventually anyways ? sure you can cycle it through the turbines to make electricity, but if you can't get rid of the excess energy its just going to be stuck as mostly steam. Thats why you see nuclear power plants mostly near bodies of water.

There's a reason we site these things near rivers. Your "100% secure electro station" would be a steaming crater within a few hours.
