Simple Yes or No question:
Do you have Any illegal file on your computer?
What counts as a file?
Is a chunk of data, not visible in my filesystem, recently removed but still recoverable a file?
Are files stored in base64 and then in names of directories count as a file>
I once wrote Adobe® Photoshop® in an inappropriate manner and it's probably still in a log file inside an old hdd.
So I would say that I ended have an illegal file. I already told Adobe® and paid a fine, hopefully this will be enough to mitigate any further legal situations.
It's not considered illegal to have encrypted files, otherwise tons of companies would be in trouble.
File encryption exists mainly for enterprise and critical systems security not for cheese pizza consumers.
who the fuck cares about legality of data? you realize that there are more important things to worry about right? like paying bills or going outside for once in your life so that your pale skin doesn't just go transparent. you don't want to become an anthropomorphized angler fish do you?
Yes but not intentionally. I downloaded a file that turned out to be a porn video of a little girl. I denounced the file but forgot where I kept it or the name it had and now I die a little inside every time someone borrows my computer.
>arranging 0s and 1s into certain patterns means you deserve to locked in a cage
statism, not even once
No, I don't.
I always pirated shit since the '80s. Nowadays I pay for all the stoopid shit like the movies in a weird sense of "paying back" somehow.
While most of the crap today aren't even worth paying for. Robocop 2014 anyone? I wouldn't buy that shit for even a dollar.
Wish I could go back in time and feed all these fucking coins I have now into Robotron and Williams pinball machines again.
No data can be illegal. If it were, it would mean that information is illegal, since a sequence of 0 and 1 is just "information".
So, data can't be illegal per se, in the year of our lord 2011+3(+1).
It can be illegal the way you used to obtain that data, at least in certain countries.
It can be illegal the fact that you store or use some kind of data if you're not allowed for it, at least in certain countries.
But you always have to separate actions performed over the data from the data itself. Otherwise, we'd have a new Middle Age. Only actions, performed by a human being, can be illegal. Not data.
Yeah except you can literally just write a certain arrangement of 1s and 0s onto a piece of paper resulting in the state saying you deserve to be locked in a cage.
no NSA-sama, i do not
again i thank you for love and protection, NSA-sama
If I have a patent or copyright on a certain arrangement of 1s and 0s, I own the rights to that arrangement. So if one of you fucks uses/saves/downloads/distributes my arrangement of 1s and 0s, that is stealing my intellectual property and you do deserve to be locked up.
But keep circlejerking your justification for being poor and not paying for other people's work.
Or, for once in your pathetic lives, do something that isn't detrimental to society.
underage girls engaged in lewd or sexual acts
>Suppose I compose a poem and recite it to you. As a result, you learn the poem by heart. In effect, there is now a copy of the poem stored in your brain. Who owns that copy?
>The only answer must be: you do. You own yourself; you own your brain and the contents of your brain. If I owned the copy in your brain, then I would be a part owner of your brain, which would make you a partial slave – which is morally untenable.
>Now in addition to owning your brain and the poem stored within, you also own, let’s suppose, a pen and some paper. You use your pen to transcribe onto the paper the poem that’s stored in your head. Now there are two copies of my poem in your possession: one in your brain and one on the paper. Who owns the second copy?
>Once again, you do. You produced that second copy using nothing but factors that you owned: your paper, your pen, and your brain (with your neuron-encoded first copy of my poem). That second copy is yours – to keep, to burn, or to transfer.
>But if owning an abstract object means owning all the instances, then it means my owning the copy of my poem in your brain. In that case, intellectual property is a form of slavery. If slavery is illegitimate, then so is intellectual property.
>Either intellectual property means slavery, or it means nothing at all.
What if I... reverse the bits? Like11000 => 00011does the copyright still holds?
In terms of perception and how the question is asked, it can be. For example, the act of downloading copyrighted content, such as a song, from a file sharing source would be illegal, however; the file itself is not.
Things such as CP on the other hand, is generally illegal simply to have it.
So the question is a little broad and vague.
I have pictures of my 19 year old girlfriend in lewd / sexual poses, acts, and such...
Is that illegal in your country OP?
If not, then probably not.
Arguing copyright infringement is like arguing who owns the air molecules in your lungs right now.
I know, we do that, in some places. And it's still usually stupid.
they can patent molecular structures now.
actually, they've been able to do that for a while
synthetic ones that is.
there is a gradient of ambiguity that is about to befall mankind. physical, philosophical, ideological...
this will trigger chaos.
Oh fuck off white knight.
No one that I've ever actually talked to on /g/ is a pedo.
Some people like loli, but that's fine. No one was harmed in the making of those drawings.
>No one that I've ever actually talked to on /g/ is a pedo.
>Some people like loli, but that's fine. No one was harmed in the making of those drawings.
both are fine. Not all sex = harm feminazi.
>stop liking what I don't like or I'll lock you in a cage
You need help.
Yeah, I know.
But copyright infringement is never supposed to be a jailable offense. That's retarded. No good comes of it. Just less exposure of media to people.
If you are making money off someone's copyrighted work, you should be required to stop, and sued for the damages you caused.
If you pirated a song off fucking Limewire, well, enjoy your virus-- I mean music, and everyone should really stop giving a fuck.
anything can be normalized.
if you saw the pain animals go through when they're being tortured, well, that's a hell of a lot worse.
>but they're just dumb animals... of course.
GET OVER IT
Life is a game of control
and you're a fool if you believe in a universal moral code.
you're a weak fool
no one here has any illegal data. the only data that isn't legal to possess is child porn and other things like that.
movies, tv shows, games, etc. are likely to have been illegally obtained, but that doesn't mean the files themselves are "illegal"
>pirating movies decreases demand for movies
>pirating cp increases demand for cp
No. It would have to come via the internet where there is no security.
Expecting security on the internet is like expecting to squat over a fire wearing a gasoline soaked diaper and not get burned.
I can't think of any file which could serve me which is actually outlawed.
Whether or not children can give informed consent to too hot of a topic. There's no one metric to determine if someone is capable of giving informed consent, thus the current laws with arbitrary age limits. Legally, it is rape if you have sex with someone below the age limit.
Bestiality is very much illegal in South Korea.
>not knowing about the ADL, every politician being paid out by rich Jews, Jews owning the media, Jews owning Hollywood, Jewish wealth, Jewish power over Christians (vast numbers in the USA), Jewish influence on foreign policy, Israeli influence in the Middle East, Jewish companies, Jewish money, Jewish politicians
Something similar happened to me on Tor.
Browsing through this secret Dark Web internetz as a new, a year ago. Came across CP.
Being an anxiety prone person, I have lived in fear ever since.
am I likely to get in trouble? ;_;
Also, No. No files that are illegal.
getting fucking literal on a guy who treated to state the obvious fact that in an international board this questions is tricky because in some countries illegal is a book or a downloaded file and in others is either a ''killing the president'' plan or a child porn server, so teh thread is kind of useless because you are actually not answering shit.
Noe, i don't have anything illegal.
nudity is generally considered the showing of sexually-suggestive body locations with little or no clothing. in US culture, this includes the genitals, the ass, and on women, the areolas of the breasts. other cultures may vary (see islam). in some cases, significantly lewd imagery can invoke the same ramifications as nudity.
not really, the people who run those rings more likely are what FBI are interested in
In my country the only people get caught with CP are people who get reported by people who use their computers
Stupid stuff like having CP on usb key and leaving it at work or having a cousin report it
No, all of my files are completely legal I obtained legally from legal places that are completely legit and legally legal.
If you had to do that, you lack empathy. You are choosing events to focus on in order to justify your coldheartedness.
Psychopaths are mentally retarded. They lack something that the rest of us have.
It's loose, but it usually lets through things like nudist colonies.
never searched it myself, but saw on /b/ a couple days ago on a "Things never to google" thread someone posted something like "Pure nudity" or some shit and everyone that searched it saw tones of nude kids/teens. Because it wasn't inherently sexual in nature laws let it pass, usually.
How many would otherwise look at the real thing if it weren't for loli to tide them over?
When you can look at loli with no consequences or CP with the risk of loosing everything many who without loli would look at CP will then look at loli. And if you put loli on the same level as CP then there will be no reason not to look at the real thing.
>posting best girl in such a manner

Both morality and legality are subjective.
They're both created by humans, they both can vary based on era and area, and neither has an existence independent from the human mind.
That's exactly what makes it subjective. Anything without an objective existence is subjective.
Things like morality and legality are products of and interpreted by the human mind; they don't exist on their own as objective phenomena do.
Even if you write something subjective down or get others to agree with it, it doesn't stop being subjective.
When I smack you in the face, it's an objective consequence for your stupidity. Subjective concept exist inside of your mind. Someone putting you in prison is an objective thing that is actually happening. Jesus Christ, you're a fucking moron.
A few years ago I downloaded an entire cp site from the deep web, opva2 I think it was called.
Most of it was crap; I'm not a pedophile and I downloaded it just to have something illegal on my computer.
Eventually, it all went in the trash.
I do have some zoo porn, which is illegal in this shithole of a country where I live.
>I'm not a pedophile and I downloaded it just to have something illegal on my computer.
>my entire games are pirated
>all of my adobes are also pirated
>entire music files are pirated
>legal download movies? No way
>all animus are from nyaa.se
>Microsoft office also pirated
The only pure legal is my Windows OS
Oh yeah forgot, another illegal thing i have in my pc is OP's mom nude pics
my computer hahahaha
dude im a fucking illegal alien living in America i haven't paid 1 cent in taxes since i arrived and i make about 40k a year all under the table.
god bless the amish but back on topic everything on my pc is illegal from my copy of windows 7 to my internet connection.
A state can be illegitimate, and a state's laws can break their basic code (For Americans that would be unconstitutional stuff) which is essentially illegal.
But a state cannot be, in and of itself, illegal. And the core laws of a governing body cannot be illegal, even when prohibition was ended it was merely an annulment of a law.
If Illegal means "obtained" illegally then yes, of course fuck you for asking such a stupid question.
If Illegal means possession of the file could result in enforcement by the law then no I'm not a pedophile
>Someone putting you in prison is an objective thing that is actually happening
"Someone putting you in prison" is not the definition of "legality".
You brought up a good example though. If a person smacks someone else in the face because they believe they are stupid, it's an objective fact that they smacked someone in the face. However, their belief that the person they smacked is a stupid person is still a subjective one.
People can do almost anything based on various subjective interpretations of the world, that still doesn't make those interpretations objective.
>he wasn't on /g/ when we had CP threads.
