Why are you a data hoarder?
INB4 I MIGHT NEED IT
Spotify and Netflix masterrace!
i like jacking off for hours on end. its like drugs for me
It's a few TB. I don't have all the old versions of everything, just some. Like FF all the way back to version 10, IE back to IE5, Ubuntu back to 4.04 or some shit like that, and all of the other major distros back at least ten years. I have Windows going back to 3.1, and assorted software for them all. I even have an original floppy set of Win95 in the box.
whoa JO crystals are real, and that guy must charge it a lot judging by the glow
All data I need fits in my old 2GB USB stick.
I do hold some important data on my 1TB disk, Like few GB of Ginger Banks cams.
I for one hoard data that isn't porn.
I have an extensive music collection, with albums that I listen to sometimes and store because they're difficult to re-download.
I also have my anime backlog downloaded and ready for viewing, together with my favourite shows that I might re-watch.
Lastly, there's about 40,000 images that I collected over the years. None of them are pornographic either.
>None of them are pornographic either.
Porn data hording isn't even the bad part for me.
I just download everything and then forget to delete it
I only have a 1tb hdd and it's just barely almost full, it's not that bad
I have 157 movies stored on my hard drive. At some point I stopped deleting them after watching because I like to re-watch them. I also have Star Trek TOS and TNG on my hard drive. I have some archives of youtubers who have tendencies to get taken down like MDE to name one. I have a few audiobooks. Then I have celebrity porn and that's it. All pretty reasonable.
I used to hoard images, videos and website rips but I think I realized that it was sort of pointless. No one was ever going to ask me to repost any of it and I didn't use it either. Then I switched to using a 256GB SSD and from then on I didn't have the space to hoard.
I barely download songs, movies and series anymore too. Grooveshark and Popcorntime do their jobs fine for me.
I am a reformed hoarder.
Because I like watching and sharing stuff with friends. HDDs are cheap. >>45724150
>also fyi, ubuntu 4.04 is the first version
Good to know, I don't use it, so I don't keep up with it just hoard it.
FF10 is important because it supports flash and works on really old OSs, the age isn't important.
Are you angry that I save things that aren't faggy chink toons and weird porn?
If you have a single harddrive you don't know what data hoarding is, why are you posting
I have lots of old machines, dozens actually, that I make sure have all period correct software, then yank the hdds and label them to what machine they belong in. Then I use the PCs in my server farm with ebay HDDs.
Sorry for being snippy, I'm tired and thought you were the other dbag that was whining about my collection.
265 GB Samsung 840 Pro - OS and apps
512 GB Intel 730 - Games
3 TB WD RE - Main data storage (almost out of space)
3TB WD RE - Main data backup
1.5 TB External Samsung - random data with no backup
500 WD Blue - scratch drive, could die any day now
I don't trust RAID controllers, so I manually add things to my backup drive. Considering one of those 6 TB seagate drives to use as a backup, which would double my data storage capabilities, but I don't trust seagate. I should really just get a NAS setup.
I don't really. I haven't even filled up half of my 1TB external and I have all the movies, books, OS images, software archives, porn, shows, and misc shit that I desire.
The only thing I really feel "hoarder"ish about is saving Youtube vids I feel might get taken down for false DMCAs and shit. But low and behold, I'm right at least 30% of the time on it. Then who's there with a convenient mirror? This guuyyyy.
Back before hard-drives broke 100 gigabytes, I was a data hoarder, when my 80 GB (that was huge at the time) died did I start to question why I was holding on to all this junk? Today I have about 4 TB spread over about five drives and about 500 or so CDs, DVDs, and yes even a handful of 3.5 floppies.
They still can (In a way).
The US still uses floppies in their missile silos.
Did you ever use the "sneaker net" back in the day?
