>not filling your tower with beastly 8TB drives

Do you even hoard, /g/?
>>
No, I don't. What do you hoard, anon?
>>
>>45549904
>trusting clickgate with 8tb of data
good one
>>
8TB on a seagate!? no.
Never ever again unless the warranty covers the supposedly archive branding.

What's that, a cloud? a CLOUD ON A HARD DISK.

Let me finish filling my documents drive, 1TB WD blue with content I make and download to begin with. Then, we will see.
>>
>>45549904
Jesus they make those? I've got a server full of 2TB's right now and that's plenty.

>>45549922
Not OP, but I horde damn near everything these days. I've always had one or two laptops at a time plus a desktop now and then, and before I got a server, shit was all over the place. With the server I've got a central repository of stuff to sync.

Right now, the majority of my horde is TV shows and Anime (which I have less time to watch now that I've got a collection), a bunch of games I pirated, music (don't care about FLAC's but I could store plenty of them), and of course, porn because I have a fetish that's not very popular on streaming sites.
>>
>>45549987
In my, admittedly limited, experience, the only people who would buy one of those are casual or naive users who have yet to experience a serious drive failure.

With something of that size and from Seagate, you'd want to get a few so that you could RAID them.
>>
>>45550001
>unpopular fetish, doesnt say what it is
pls anon
>>
>>45550044
Kitchen tiles.
>>
I built a 6GB RAID array a couple of years ago, but I still have plenty of space left. I also have plenty of data I can easily delete. I don't hoard games/movies anymore because I can easily redownload them on demand.
>>
>>45550076
thats pretty fucking hot
>>
>>45549904
I had 8tb storage three years ago. I filled it mostly with movies and TV shows.

I erased the collection two days ago. One of the drives were dying, and times have changed anyways.

My pirated shit is now probably just worth $200 retail.
>>
>>45550156
>I erased the collection two days ago. One of the drives were dying, and times have changed anyways.

Wow the whole thing? What are you doing now? Seems like even with one failed drive you still have a bunch of equipment.

Did you find a girl or something? Is she making you do this?

>My pirated shit is now probably just worth $200 retail.
On several TB of storage? How much stuff did you have? Shit music collection alone is probably more than that, and it's my smallest thing.
>>
>>45550039
I never go above 1TB without RAID, I thought an 8TB would be a given.
Any idea what the warranty's like on that thing?
>>45550077
>6GB
Heh
>because I can easily redownload them on demand.
What type of plebshit TV do you watch?
>>45550156
>I erased the collection two days ago.
Them feels

I used to hoard. I had 14gb of the best porn. The absolute best. All of it. If it was best, I had it. And that's not even including videos.

But then I deleted fucking everything. I don't hoard anything these days, and I can get by comfortably with a 128gb SSD. No regrets. Feels good man.

Let me get this straight - it's an SFW board, but if someone links to a post on an NSFW board, and you hover over the link, you get a huge-ass potentially NSFW picture blown up in your face?

Only if you're using extensions.
>>
My media collection is just barely 500GB now.

And I already have like 100GB of stuff I haven't watched yet.

How do people manage to consume tb of media?
>>
>>45550937
then don't hover over links to nonblue boards, duh

don't tell my you primarily browse with the mouse.
>>
>>45550986
That's probably mostly shit though. When I collected, I saved only the stuff I liked. Then I set a new standard and went through everything again, picture by picture, and deleted more than half. Then I did it again, and again. I can't tell you how many hours of my life went into that 14gb. That's one of the reasons I deleted it.

Now that I'm becoming an artist, I do wish I had saved my absolute favorites, but oh well.
>>
>Buying any Hard Disk Drive Over 2TB is size that isn't from Western Digital

Nigga, is you crazy?!
>>
>>45551019
Native 4chan here, no third party extensions at all.

>>45551025
I primarily browse with the mouse.

I'm using only the built-in 4chan stuff and it still shows up.
>>

>its 94% porn

get on my level faggot
>>
>>45551023
>How do people manage to consume tb of media?

You don't. That's why it's hoarding.

That said, I totally planned to watch most of my horde until this semester kicked off and I lost 95% of my free time.... I shouldn't even be here right now.

>>45551044
>>45551046
Fuck, I forgot about the inline extension. Browse at your own risk I guess niggas.
>>
>>45549904

Am i the only who hoards CS/IT video tutorials on various topics?

Also, educational video courses

Have 1.5tb of that, and not a single porn, music or movie on my pc
>>
>>45550001
nice number. Wonder who >>45550000 is
>>
>>45551647
Where do you get them from?
>>
>>45551736
torrents and direct downloads

there's plenty of sites (which all mostly just upload stuff straight from release groups) that upload video tuts almost the same day they're released, only some rare stuff has to be waited <month

Well, at least for stuff i am interested but that's really a wide area
>>
>>45551787
I pretty much use libgen.org, youtube, khanacademy (don't laugh), and other well known streaming sites.. but damn, I never thought to hoard them
any good release groups you don't mind naming?
>>
>>45551836
>>45551787
interested in maths and CS, by the way
>>
>>45550823
That caught me off guard.

no. i dont fucking hoard. i downloaded a few things i needed a couple years ago and ever since then i've been using them to CREATE. to REALIZE DREAMS. i'm a couple TIERS above your loser ass. fucking frantically collecting shit-tainment while i win at life. honestly feel bad for you. just taking it all in, some stagnant fatass writing as much garbage-data to his storage medium as possible. computers are a means to an end. i'm using mine as a means. you're using yours as an end in and of itself, to gorge yourself on worthless trash. disgusting.
>>
>>45551787
not this anon >>45551836, but reply pls
>>
>>45551911
yea. loserlife.net and failureface.org
>>
>>45551836
>khanacademy (don't laugh)

why would i laugh, it's a great source for entry math

my best advice would be to first find legit sources of what you search for, for example The Great Courses have some courses on math, mostly algebra and calculus (which i dled but i'll probably never watch it), and when you find what you need you go searching for pirate

release groups mostly specialize on specific site (lynda.com, pluralsight) so it wouldn't mean much to you if i named em

check CBT Nuggets, Pluralsight, Livelessons, Infiniteskills, VTC, lynda.com, udemy

Also Coursera, edx, mitx, udacity

When you find a course that you're interested copypaste the exact same name and start searching
>>
>seagate
>>
>>45551936
when you find what you want simple method of "your course" uploaded/rapidgator/torrent is enough for most stuff

also, learn to use those russian torrents like rutracker, they are god tier stuff
>>
>>45552017
>>45551936
thank you anon
