E6440 > any new thinkpad
>tfw Lenovo will never come with something as good as the x300
hey guys let's fuck over our main customers by making our laptops look and feel more like low end macbooks
I need something with a digitizer. Anybody have any experience with the thinkpad Helix or thinkpad yoga?
There is someone on craigslist selling T400s for $80 with one of them being prices at $70 because of some worn out keycaps, and T410s for $100. I'm thinking of buying one of the T410s, is this a good price for them? What should I be on the lookout for when I go to test it out?
It's a crap and shoot, they were built for touch on previous operating systems. If you want to do stuff now you need something better.
go for the Thinkpad Yoga. It ain't thinkpad level build quality or modability, but it's the best modern computer you'll get with a good touchscreen
I'm looking for a dirt cheap laptop that is portable, tough, lasts a while on a charge, and just gets the job done (occasional raw processing in lightroom, working in Excel/Word, browsing).
Will a thinkpad fit the bill, or should I look at something else?
It was still damn good n sexy
Sorry, they are going to be shit quality for awhile.
Visually and 'acting' wise.
X130e/131e might fit the bill
Some X140e units have been going under $250
Next up would be an X220, but I think those are at $260 starting for a decent non condition one
>nabbed a T410 w/ a WXGA+ screen for $100
just needs an OS and maybe a battery, oh an a power cord I guess..
I know you guys usually dabble in used shitpads but I just saw this deal for the x1 Carbon for $999 on the microsoft store. Is the x1 Carbon even worth buying new or should I be going for something older in the lightweight 14" range?
It takes some getting used to, otherwise you suck.
Make the toolbars on the left and the right small as possible. Have the right side show your layers, not brushes. Learn how to use the palette (right click for it to pop up).
Also turn your tablet around so that it slopes towards you.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT HE ACTUALLY SHOUTED ME OUT!
Visually and 'acting' wise I'd say you're fine, but the excessive use of that 'skip-forward' effect is a bit annoying.
As a suggestion for you next video, it'd be cool to see a video showing off the W701ds and/or 701C--just generally talking about them
God damn, I thought this '/g/ being traps' was just an inside joke like /a/ saying they're little girls.
I'll try not to do the skipping forward thing, but its hard to do it all right in one take.
But I wont drink next time.
I drink in it and curse I think. So I don't want to get into troubles.
For video content, talking about specific models would probably be good. Niche stuff, old stuff, popular stuff. The pros and cons of a particular model. That kind of thing.
Any disassemblies you do would be great too, from simple stuff to changing thermal paste, to replacing screens or main boards, or swapping cpus. Just anything thinkpad I guess.
