I need something with a digitizer. Anybody have any experience with the thinkpad Helix or thinkpad yoga?

Wouldn't one of the X series tablets be better? Those all have digitizers, some even multitouch, and actually qualify as decent thinkpads.

There is someone on craigslist selling T400s for $80 with one of them being prices at $70 because of some worn out keycaps, and T410s for $100. I'm thinking of buying one of the T410s, is this a good price for them? What should I be on the lookout for when I go to test it out?

go for the Thinkpad Yoga. It ain't thinkpad level build quality or modability, but it's the best modern computer you'll get with a good touchscreen

I'm looking for a dirt cheap laptop that is portable, tough, lasts a while on a charge, and just gets the job done (occasional raw processing in lightroom, working in Excel/Word, browsing).

Will a thinkpad fit the bill, or should I look at something else?

It takes some getting used to, otherwise you suck.

Make the toolbars on the left and the right small as possible. Have the right side show your layers, not brushes. Learn how to use the palette (right click for it to pop up).

Also turn your tablet around so that it slopes towards you.

Visually and 'acting' wise I'd say you're fine, but the excessive use of that 'skip-forward' effect is a bit annoying.

For video content, talking about specific models would probably be good. Niche stuff, old stuff, popular stuff. The pros and cons of a particular model. That kind of thing.

Any disassemblies you do would be great too, from simple stuff to changing thermal paste, to replacing screens or main boards, or swapping cpus. Just anything thinkpad I guess.
