Yes, they match resolution wise and physical height too if you plan to go PLP. That's what I'm working on. I already have one 2007fp and U3014 comes in this week. Finding a 2nd one in perfect condition will require patience. I found my first one for $40 CDN.

Long answer would be no, that's a fucking stupid proposition. You would need a tv tuner connected to cable or your antenna. For the price of buying a cheap, tiny monitor and a tv tuner, you could just buy a small 30" TV.

I have an NEC LCD2090UXi which supposedly has the same model LG IPS panel as the IPS version of the 2007FP. The NEC of course has extra high end features (like hardware calibration) but mine looks fantastic even without calibration.
