Pc build thread?

Can someone help me finish this build? My budget is around 900 dollars.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/J83fD3

Pic related is the case i'm considering
>>

>$100 on a case
Hilarious.

Here's what you need for that build: the cheapest Z97 motherboard from your favorite brand, Corsair 200R or 300R, and Corsair CS450M or CS550M.
Also, change the RAM to DDR3-1600. There's no point in buying more than the default.
>>
Are those finger smudge marks at the bottom of the case?

That is quite an expensive case.
You could always buy a cheapish motherboard, a cheap case, and then use the saved money to bump your video card up a tier.
>>
>>45316810
Yes, I own an R4 and the front smudges very easily.
I bought it on during a big sale and got it for $75 shipped, its OK, wouldnt pay much more for it though.
>>
I have this motherboard, and its been really nice.

No faggot, for a 900$ budget where money can be put elsewhere much more wisely
>>

>Also, change the RAM to DDR3-1600. There's no point in buying more than the default.

It was only 60 dollars though

Good deal right?
>>
>>45317325
The ram is fine, I actually have the orange Ares ram in my computer because it was the cheapest when I built mine.
>>
>>45317322
Like where?
>>
http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/jWkkzy

Any problems, redundancies, improvements that could be made to this?
>>
>>45317391
Holy fuck that just reminds me how thankful I am to be living in the USA.
>>
>>45317387
I personally think its worth buying a cheap ~50$ case where it allows me to put the 60$ I saved into my video card or PSU, or you know any other component that actually matters.
Thats how you get bang for buck when you have a budget, and this budget is enough he can build a quite decent machine.

Just find a cheap one with the PSU at the bottom like this

A nice case will be able to hold more hard drives, have better airflow, provide space for watercooling, and (if it's your thing) have a window so you can look at the sweet build you spend all your hard earned cash and time on.

I'm just saying you have no actual real complaints as someone who has never owned the case and instead just read a few bad reviews because you want people to have the same case you have.

Deal with it.

Opinions? Note it's in britbong dollars so take that into account if you suggest price changes

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/zhRfD3

What would you change? I'm on the fence about the Kraken CLC because it's not really a massive upgrade from a Corsair h80i that I already own but CorsairLink is dogshit software that either doesn't open or is sluggish as shit to use when it does.
>>
>>45318292
The two bays on the back side of the motherboard tray.
>>
>>45318376

Yes. It's the one thing I really hate about the R4. Any movement/anything of the SSDs behind the motherboard require removing it completely.

It might as well just say "overclocking motherboard" because a $50 cheap mobo will pull the same frames as a $200+. Gotta love marketing terms that bait the fish.

Hey, I wouldn't trust a shitty $50 motherboard with 4 phase power to be very good at overclocking.

you're not one of those idiots who suggest H81/B85 to go along with 4690K, do you?

I-I'm sorry

I knew some retard would go for the bait. I never suggested overclocking on a 4phase no heatsinked VRM's motherboard. My general rule of thumb is to spend at least $80-120 on a decent board from a reputable company regardless if you plan on overclocking or not.

So I'm in the process of building my second computer and have purchased one of these bad boys, the Noctua NH-D15; not D14, just to be sure. Still though, I want to have it running dual fan. Is there some sort of list that shows which RAM are compatible with that setup or a list that shows different rams heights? I don't really want to resort to using Corsair LP series.

>>
>>45319558
Yes slower boot times, read/write times, and loading screens if you are a gamer.
It wont cause any performance issues though.
>>
>>45319520
unless you absolutely have to have jewtel use an 8350 platform its cheaper, perfectly acceptable for casual gaymen performance and even overclockable

shop around for ram... there are some 8gb sets for around $50 (g.skill sniper if that deal is still up)

$200 is too much for a 760 tier card... you can get a 280x for that much... or just hold onto your cock for this coming week and you'll definitely find a steal on a r9 2xx card... maybe even a 770/80
>>
>>45319520
280X is a LOT faster than the 760 and equally priced.
Overpowered PSU, get less but better quality.
Overkill RAM.
>>
>>45319549
>say 290
>"those aren't 290Xs"

The 290 is still way faster than the 280X, so a used 280X for $300 is retarded.

>>
>>45319558
Yes. There's no reason whatsoever to go Green.
>>
>>45319646
Point still stands. Paying $50 more than a 290 for a 280X is retarded. If you disagree I have a 6600GT here I'll let you have for $600. I'll even discount it to $500 since you're such a good friend.
>>
>>45319608
>discount
lolwut
i just bought a used 280x for $120 but immediately regretted it.. i only occasionally play one game that is moderately demanding and its not even optimized for crossfire... whats even worse is that a while back i also purchased a 1000w psu hoping to eventually build my awsum dream gaymin rig but i have neither the desire nor the funds to do it anymore. gonna try and scalp this second gpu and get my monies back... i wish i could just sell my whole rig and start over with something basic but ive already chopped into the case had some botched mods... everything is out of warranty etc.

Ive decided to get a pc instead of a next gen console. Im looking into buying a pre built desktop to eventually upgrade. Here are the specs of the one ive been looking at:

>AMD Quad-Core FX-4300 processor 3.80GHz (with a max turbo speed of 4.0GHz), 4MB L2 Cache
>4GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 16GB)
>500GB SATA hard drive
>AMD R7-240 Graphics with 2GB graphics memory

Is this a good starter build?
