Guess what time it is you retarded assholes
Its time to battle
Post your pleb tier shit
Oh, what's that, you guys don't have closet stations?
TOO FUCKING BAD
I've got a few pairs of headphones
If you think that's bad, wait until you realize some people on /g/ own more dildos than I own headphones
I like the desk, can't decide if I want to do it with cabinets like you, or with cheap sawhorses like this hipster kid

Yeah the TV is pretty shit. I got it for cheap as hell and I really just use it for netflix so it does fine for now...will get something nice when I move to my new place.
I have a nice wooden office desk, but I am staying at a flat for graduate school and the big bastard wont fit through the doors. folding table works decently

64. No inspection-ready unit has ever passed combat.
I want your fan. I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a fan.
How does that make any sense?
Desktops sometimes mount HDD's sideways and that's about the only moving part that *might* have a miniscule chance of being affected by it's orientation with respect to the force of gravity.
why the fuck do you have 2 KB and 2 mice on that tiny fucking desk?
Good evening my fellow autists.
That's the backup to my backup station
Don't tell anyone, but those are the classic beats by natsuru, beats by dealextreme, etc.
They've been modded a bit, they sound more like the tascams than beats now
It's horrible, I know, it drives me crazy
I'm hopefully going to be building the desk to end all desks soon
24 square feet of desk
collecting, and I'm just bored
I actually added it up earlier, i've spent $800 dollars on these things
I was dating an awful wannabe gothic girl for like 2 years
What are you talking about?
She's my cooling solution.
I found a good deal and got mine for $600 for the pair. They are amazing! I have cerwin vegas hooked up underneath as subwoofers, and theres been multiple times where there was so much bass I went to turn them off only to realize they already were and all the bass was coming from the 2 bookshelf speakers.
They took awhile to break in but every type of music sounds fantastic on them.
Interesting. I haven't heard of many of my fellow CS students wanting to go to grad school, unless they want to go into academia/research. Is that what you wanna do?
Nothing particularly interesting shit camera edition/10
Where do you go to school?
Best of luck to you. I'd like to go into cryptography research after a few years of working in the field.
I go to a small private school in the Seattle area. You from WA?
here in murrica, you're free to do this
also, here's mine
>fuck dual monitors
>dual machines all the way (I have a third machine (which is big and heavy and doesn't charge because Dell is shit at that sort of thing -- power port on the laptop is busted, can't be arsed to fix it, it's always plugged in anyway), but I loaned it off to my dad because his laptop got stolen after a break-in)
>although, I do wish I could TATE one of the displays sometimes, physically rotating the laptop and standing it on its side is silly and I hate it (and it's a bad idea on the bed)
and yes, it's an old pic, but I'm serious
I only have one of the laptops up (the one without the tape) right now since it's 1:20 in the morning, and it'd be like fucking daylight in here.
shit's fucking comfy, just pull up a laptop in bed and go to battle
oh, one machine is doing heavy processing (read: rendering audio or compiling)? 's cool, just use the other one
Cool, both of my parents went to PLU.
The WWU CS program is pretty decent. There's a pleasantly wide variety of options once you get out of the 200s, including stuff like Lisp and Scheme. The cyber defense competition team is also really good and has a great adviser, this old Aussie guy who gives absolutely no fucks. It placed 4th nationally at this last year's competition, I think.
How's the program at PLU? It was one of my options, but I'm able to go to Western basically for free and I like Bellingham a whole lot more than Tacoma.
>old Aussie guy who gives absolutely no fucks.
That reminds me. A few quarters ago we were talking about social engineering in a class taught by that professor. He gave an assignment to come up with several methods of SEing some hypothetical guy to obtain nudes of the guy's girlfriend saved on the guy's computer. The next class session, the usual class was replaced by a lecture from someone from the university's department of political correctness or whatever the hell they call it about how things like what our professor did are totally unacceptable and demonstrate the type of disgusting chauvinism in the CS field. If he wasn't tenured, he probably would have been shitcanned.
Would you consider it a solid upgrade over generic 60HZ? I come from strict IPS monitors, so ive never really done the whole TN thing, but i tried out G sync and 144hz at a lan party the other day and it blew me away. I wonder if its worthwhile outside of gaming.
I need an amp suitable for a desktop under $200 that can power 8 ohm speakers. Got these Polk speakers, but I'm tired of having this big ass receiver. It get really warm too.
in the 60s, those tubes were considered too expensive for consumer products like clocks
also, I really want a nixie clock, it'd sure look tons fucking cooler than the boring-ass seven segment clock above my TV
>dat presentation on those figures
you're a legit weeb (as opposed to the normal "liking anime at all makes you a weeb" shit I see on 4chan all the time), but I'll be damned if I'm not impressed
Okay these logishit speakers are finally dying.
Guess I can justify it to myself to get some proper ones rather soon.
>Would you consider it a solid upgrade over generic 60HZ
Yes, its a huge upgrade especially for FPS or other high motion games.
> I come from strict IPS monitors, so ive never really done the whole TN thing
If you are used to IPS screens, your will notice the poorer picture quality. Now how bad is a TN compared to IPS? Not as bad as people make it out to be, in my opinion at least. With the right calibration you can make a (good) TN panel look alright.
> i tried out G sync and 144hz at a lan party the other day and it blew me away. I wonder if its worthwhile outside of gaming.
I haven't tried G-sync, will probably get the new Asus Gsync monitor sometime around Christmas.
144hz/lightboost/g-sync is WELL worth the degradation in image quality. I never really enjoyed computer gaming until I got a 144hz monitor, it changed it that much for me.
Thank you, I'm honored.
I've considered trying to get better lights that I can mount above the top shelf (the ones on the side are pretty awful) that would also illuminate the front row of the bottom shelf but I haven't gotten around to it. It's hard to find a solution that doesn't shine directly on my monitors.
I don't think he really said it as an insult.
I can understand if you don't care for the CRTs, they really aren't for everyone, but if you'll look at my other pictures, I have several LCD monitors in use
Just moved back to my room, I will use my laptop until the summer is over, desktop will be back in autumn, now it's resting in a dry clean room.
Monitor on far right is a 2006 monitor which still works beautifully, dunno what to do with it tho, any ideas?
Might, End up picking up an older thinkpad with a butterfly keyboard and windows 95. Really hope the guy still has it.
Anyone know if windows 95 is still at all relevant?
I know, shit's ridiculous on that station
I have no idea what a drinking jar is, but I'm wondering how you spotted my thinkpads
because they aren't in the pictures
Random day off because my boss probably drank too much yesterday :)
Von wann ist diese Zeitung?
I like yours, my setup was very similar for a long time. Then I got RSI from the fucking MacBook trackpad because my hand posture was wrong using it.
Now I've got a laptop stand, external keyboard and mouse (i.e. more bloat), but my hand's fine.
Small form army

my non-portable on the go station.
Fujifilm XT-1 with the Fujinon XF 18-55 mm f/2.8-4 OIS kit lens. Just got this kit few days ago. Nothing too fancy but this is easily the best kit lens I've ever had. I'm saving up for the Fujifnon XF 56mm f/1.2 R. I saved EXIF data for that shot.
As disgusting as this pic makes it look, is the goliathus mousepad actually good?
Are there alternatives for it with the same size as in that pic?
It looks ugly as shit but I want a mousepad that big.
