I love these

So the store I usually buy from has the Dell U2417H for 220€. Kept searching and couldn't find it for lower than 275€, so I took the chance and ordered 2 to replace my current 22' tv-only-working-as-a-monitor and 17' secondary monitor. How bad did I fuck up and where could I find a better price?

That's a good price.

No idea.
Some time ago I bought a 1080p IPS LED LG monitor.
Now my eyes suffer.

I talked to an engineer yesterday and he told me the ARM architecture is better than Intel's x86 in every single aspect: energy consumption, etc.

If this is true, why don't desktop PCs use RISC / ARM processors?

ARM64 is gonna take a while to become popular.

Whenever Raspberry Pi 3 gets proper support for 64-bit, we'll see the the situation improve.

>he told me the ARM architecture is better than Intel's x86 in every single aspect
He was either lying or an idiot. The truth is not that simple, neither is inherently better than the other. I could waffle on about the differences between different CPU designs all day and how very irrelevant the instruction set is in the greater scheme of all this but it would suffice to say that this is a very, very broad topic deserving several books to address properly.
>>
>>54976851
The no1 OS on the market does not support ARM therefore OEMs dont produce ARM pcs in the same volume they produce x86_64 pcs.

>>54976922
I understand where you are coming from but one thing ARM has is that it doesn't have to carry around all that legacy nonsense around with it

Comodo Fag here, it's pretty bloated with HIPS, Snadboxin' and other bullshit built in, also has built in Facebook and Twitter shit, but at least it blocks. I'd like to find something more lightweight then this if possible, but I want to have more control over outbound and have a better GUI then Windows built in one. (Shit also admitted to being a Windows Fag).

Anything better? What does /g/ use?

In before botnets.

OPNsense for your network firewall.

Panda for your host firewall.

Windows Firewall is not bad actually, you just have to remember to always respond "this is a public network" to OS inquiries when you connect to a new one.

Any opinions for GlassWire? Looks good, seems to be a front end for Windows own built in one, but with better interface and with lots of information in graph form.

I do wonder how much RAM and CPU it'll take up with all of its logging, also free version seems to be gimped compared to the paid one.

Como is pretty NEAT but so heavy. For old computer tinywall is a good option.
>twitter and facebook
Well comodo is a software to normalfags.

>Windows Firewall
I can wrong ,but is comodo, panda and tinywall just a better GUI for Windows Firewall?

This is what i want to buy next week.
I have 1200€. All i want is a quiet machine for some Games like WoW.

Nice, but the again it's a micro kernel

Force GPU rendering is pretty much obselete, everything uses GPU rendering since like 4.0. It's a total placebo option now. Not sure about HW overlays.

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

So I had only good experience with Linux so far. Software incompatibilities are a problem of the market, not Linux.
Saying "I don't use Linux because it doesn't have photoshop" is like saying "I don't vote for that party because they don't have a chance of winning". If everyone thinks like that, of course it will come true. I deduct : Not using Linux is undemocratic and a danger to the world at large.

Why do people argue over whether AMD or Nvidia is better?

Just pick the best card for you whenever it comes out, forget about the company. These companies don't give a shit about you, don't be loyal to any of them. Read the reviews and make an informed decision regardless of who makes the card.

Why do people argue over whether Democrats or Republicans are better?

Just pick the best candidate for you whenever the election comes around, forget about the party. These parties don't give a shit about you, don't be loyal to any of them. Read the promises and make an informed decision regardless of what party they're in.
