I am currently a Team Lead for a deployment project in Australia. My job entails flying to remote sites, scheduling users for an upgrade, backing up their profiles, installing Windows 8.1/giving them a new laptop with Windows 8.1, restoring the profile and then making sure their emails/apps/network drives all work.
I do this job for $20AUD an hour. How does this compare to your jobs? Am I underpaid? Do I have it cushy?
>>55038505
i'm R&D for a large US online marketing company, but i work in what /g/ would call a 3rd world country (ex cccp country known for its IT outsourcing).
i write a shitload of code for stuff using a shitload of connections, golang and python mostly, i find security-ish holes and take advantage of then, we're very grey area, i do weird network shit for all this stuff, automating everything from bind zone files to load-balancers on demand.
i get paid 1500$ per month.
i'd quit and go back to webdeving, where i'd make more money, but it's plain and boring af, i do love my job, but i do wish i'd make more.
>>55038737
What are your hours like? I get around $1500 a month, but work only 3 or 4 days a week. I also get allowances when I have to work away, around $100 a day.
>>55038505
>Team Lead
It sounds like a lot of work. It also appears that you are being underpaid.
20.00 is just above the AU minimum wage!
What's the point of using anything more powerful than an E8400? You use the GPU or AWS for any serious computation anyway.
You need a stonger CPU for VR.
>>55038456
VR is a toy for kids
>>55038466
Good thing most people on this board are kids then :D

Do you#include <stdbool.h>
or#define TRUE 1
#define FALSE 0
typedef int bool;
or just let it be and use 0 and 1 and ints directly?

what are you even doing that you need SLI on arch
just use it on windows to play games and use only one when you are on linus
What's wrong with this?
Rounding errors because it deals with ints not floats
>>55038101
That and the obvious one it can only find the average of 2 numbers. Ideally the function would take any amount of inputs and provide the average
>>55038097
nothing really. If you are working with integers, this is perfectly fine.
just remember that C always rounds down.
>>55038132
even floating point numbers have rounding errors. It depends on what you're doing really
I want to start using C and I am using the learn c the hard way series.
I have completed most of it but now I want to create a non-trivial program.
Should I use Clang or GCC?
Experienced C programmer using gcc
Why should I switch?
btw OP it probably doesn't matter very much which you use, you can always switch later and both are probably fine compilers
if you write standards-compliant code, which you probably are, you won't have to change any code when changing compiler
>>55038116
Great, now, what about testing? Do you have a list of C libraries that I could use?
I mean, I am using valgrind right now to sort of static check my stuff but I would like to have unit testing.
I am planning to do a little system monitor.
>>55038141
I just use a bunch of asserts and then use ifdefs to enable/disable that code
disclaimer this was a long time ago i just rember it
me and my friend were messing around when we come up to this website it was a white background only thing was i think about 7 rows of writing that we thought was Hebrew anyone know wtf this website is please let me know

I have an Iphone 4s that never charges to 100%, it goes to 65% to 0% in a few hours or minutes. I have changed the batery twice with new ones and that doesn't even chage. Did you have a problem similar to this? What is the solution to this problem?
>>55037828

gonna try this, thanks

It's probably because you are in another country and the outlet holes are different than in America
I've been interested in getting a turntable for a while. Are they impossible to find used in good quality? I imagine hipsters have driven the prices up by now. What should I look for?
This is about as meme as audio gets but it is fun.
>>55037480
build your own
buying a prebuilt turntable is like buying a prebuilt PC to /g/

there's a great one called Learn To Search The Fcuking Catalog Newfag.ttf

ive been searching for months and i can't wrap my head around on which laptop to get for school. I've been eyeing on the thinkpad t450 (pic related) and im not sure if its the best laptop for my needs. Im basically gonna use it to code and use unity/blender on it so i dont really need an i7. lightness and battery are a plus!
