What do you all prefer for connecting your non-wifi enabled devices to your wireless network? Do you prefer small individual devices like this or an entire separate router?
>>55057432
I use either a usb dialup modem, or a wifi router with ethernet ports.
Separate router?
I just run cables dude.

My parents want windows 10, but at the same time don't want to be spied on. While I know this seems like an impossible task, an anon posted a list of IP addresses the other day which Windows 10 keeps phoning home to.
what can I do to to keep the spying to a minimum, or at least minimize the damage?
>>55057394
O&O Shutup 10, Spybot Antibeacon.
>>55057394
You can't.

Friend of mine is looking to get a used iPhone 5s. His reasoning for it is "WELP I've never had an iPhone so might just try lol". Needless to say, he's kind of stupid. Last phone he had was some Xperia that he trampled and now its barely working after being dropped/cracked/etc.
So I need some decent reasons, beyond HURR IS APPLE EVUL, why someone shouldn't get a 5S(or any general iPhone faults that apply to 5S as well). Already told him about no changeable battery, no mem card, shit connectivity. Anything else or should I just let retards be tards?
You could just him see if he likes it.
Honestly best fucking phone I've ever owned, and still owned is the moto x 2013
>>55057242
I don't understand, why he shouldn't get the phone he wants to get? Don't fall for the stupid collective mind of this shithole that thinks anything Apple does is bad just because it's from Apple.
Are SSDs made of fucking gold?
Why are they so fucking expensive?
lots of expensive r&d goes into ssd tech so that it can be cheaper in the short term.
ssds are already so much cheaper and better than they used to be
just give it time, hdds had the same problem and now they are dirt cheap
>>55057070
That SSD weighs 4oz, therefore if it was made entirely of gold it would cost you around $5K.
>>55057070
Considering the size the memory chips are probably the highest capacity ones available and thus the most expensive.
Dropped my iphone 5 from about 2 feet off the ground straight onto its screen and now its gone all black and purple and broken as fuck. I think I need a new phone and am thinking something like the note 3. Any one have suggestions? Is the note 3 good?
pls help /g/
>>55056777
get it repaired. a lot of places do it for under 100 bucks. be japanese.
>>55056777
When did people stop reading the sticky?

Did he do this because he can't access 4chan anymore? Will Dashchan be discontinued? Please I don't want to go back to clover :(

Is it really open now?

Is it not?
I think it's becoming a trend. Mimi also released source a while ago.

I always like technology since I was a kid. I used to know my shit for my age but now I don't really know much.
How do I learn more about hardware (processors mobo etc..) and software? For example, I want to be able to figure out the best pc build in terms of power or value with best compatibility.
I did build my own pc recently but that's as simple as following a yt video and choosing parts with pcpartpicker

How many of you faggots do this?
>>55056679
Containing malwares within a VM is quite effective.
>>55056679
Very few, I suppose. Installing Linux isn't hard.
I make a super riced out animu desktop in virtualbox then continue to use plain windows with no rice
did i miss anything?

Chink Shit General?
>>55056696
as OP, that's the only general i like since people actually share technology that they think to be not bad and cheap instead of opening new threads.
Appraise my build
I have used this build for about a year.

I prefer the i7 for de power
Is Microsoft out of their minds?
What value can they get out of this? Know what everyone is working on, who is hiring what for how much? More than this? What am I missing?
http://techcrunch.com/2016/06/13/microsoft-to-buy-linkedin-for-26b-in-cash-makes-big-move-into-enterprise-social-media/
>What value could MS have for who is behind what in various industries
who knows
>>55056491
Now that they lost mobile, have no social assets to speak for, maybe get some proper R&D done with the information of who is working in each industry?
Now they have information on people and the companies hiring those people. You can probably even make pretty accurate guesses on projects other companies are working on based certain shared skills of the people they are hiring or contacting.

This is my first PC build. I downgraded the GPU I'll be getting because I wound up needing it sooner than later, and I wanted a build that was good around it so I can pop in a new card and be fine. I currently plan on getting a 960 as a stand-in until the 1100-series comes out. Notice any problems? Also, any recommendations regarding thermal paste and antistatic wristband brands?

also do not get the EVGA 650W G1, get either the G2 or GS version
>>55056303
Why not the G1? Is it because it's only semi-modular?
Just wait for the rx480. Get a samsung ssd and buy a windows license from kinguin/reddit
