Can it detect if you're using a VPN/proxy or not?

No thanks
>>55099316
Nope, not for me anywayPTR test = Probably home user
Fingerprint and OS match. No proxy detected (this test does not include headers detection).
No OpenVPN detected.
Probably has to do with the fact that I'm using the same distro on my server and my PC.
>>55099428
Here's a comparison:
Without VPN:First seen = 2016/06/16 03:44:41
Last update = 2016/06/16 03:44:41
Total flows = 1
Detected OS = Linux 3.11 and newer
HTTP software = ???
MTU = 1480
Network link = IPIP or SIT
Language = ???
Distance = 16
PTR = <FQDN from my ISP>
PTR test = Probably home user
Fingerprint and OS match. No proxy detected (this test does not include headers detection).
No OpenVPN detected.
With VPN:First seen = 2016/06/16 03:43:02
Last update = 2016/06/16 03:45:26
Total flows = 4
Detected OS = Linux 3.11 and newer
HTTP software = Chrome 43.x or 50.x (ID seems legit)
MTU = 1500
Network link = Ethernet or modem
Language = English
Distance = 13
Uptime = 1 days 8 hrs 11 min (modulo 198 days)
PTR test = Probably home user
Fingerprint and OS match. No proxy detected (this test does not include headers detection).
No OpenVPN detected.
Honest Discussion, Are CS degrees truly a meme? I currently work as a software developer (4 years almost) and was looking to get a CS degree for future jobs/general advancement
I can kind of see how it would be shaky ground if you're doing software development since you can hire one good, expensive guy, hire a shit ton of Indians and just have them punch out code while your one guy filters it out.
However, what's the prospects like for someone who wants to use their CS degree to transition out of programming into something like Network/System Administration, etc etc?
Surely a CS degree is for more than just programming.
It's a meme. Don't fall for it.
>tfw I fell for the CE meme

I'm not quite sure what this reaction image is meant to imply.

Does Linux give you a natural drive to learn programming and other things? I'm way more active with it than I ever was on Windows.
Only for faggots without discipline since it's harder to be distracted on Linux without muh games etc. Ofcourse on /g/ everyone fuels their autism into ricing endlessly
>>55098699
GNU+Linux is designed for to be designed by its user, and the programming is the way to design.

I at least changed the password. Time to see how deep this rabbit hole of insecurity goes.

I haven't signed into this particular account on any computer for 2+ years. Only reason I noticed is because it's forwarded to a different account.
>>55098630
Some Russian guy hijacked an old Google account of mine a few months back. Was using it to post spam videos to YouTube.
Used password recovery to change the password, set up two factor auth with my phone, and then marked the account for deletion. I bet that guy was a little butthurt.
ITT:being retarded.

Also, what are you doing buying a single drive for freenas? I sure hope it's to replace an existing one, or you're doing the whole redundancy thing wrong.
Share tips on ricing. Here is how you starting X without a display manager or login manager:
You add stuff to ~/.xinitrc that you want to start immediately on boot, things like DEs, WMs, and DMs. ~/.xinitrc is an rc file that gets loaded when you call startx. So if you want startx to load a certain DE/WM you put that in the config. However you can ignore the config and instead use a DM which is like a GUI login screen. However xinitrc isn't called by default. If you add a line in your .bash_profile and you don't have a DM, upon boot, you should be prompted for you username and password. After entering them, xinitrc takes over and starts your DE and/or WM. Putting that line in your bash_profile (*profile) file simply calls startx if it's not already started when you start your login shell. You could ignore that and just type startx after login if you want.
You can make bash_login call xinitrc with
[[ -z $DISPLAY && $XDG_VTNR -eq 1 ]] && exec startx
In your bash_profile. THEN xinitrc gets called after you log in because of that line.
Put a line at the bottom of ~/.xinitrc that says
exec <whatever>
for example i3 and that launches it. Then in your .bash_profile put
[[ -z $DISPLAY && $XDG_VTNR -eq 1 ]] && exec startx
You can clear stale pages in your swap space by running the following as root# sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches; rm -rf ~
