How trackable is your browser?
https://browserprint.info/
http://panopticlick.eff.org/
Remember that while disabling JS is an easy way to hide much of your browser fingerprint many websites don't work without it, so it's kinda cheating.
Things that can make you less trackable:
Disabling cookies unless required. Cookie monster is a good extension for this.
The Tor Browser Bundle, the browser with the best fingerprinting defenses out there. Sadly requires use of Tor.
Using multiple browsers (e.g. I use Chrome for all my botnet shit and IceCat for my shitposting and web browsing).
Useragent spoofing is a thing not to do unless you're using a different UA for every site you visit.
Even rotating every x requests is a red flag.
Whatever, I'm not a pedo so I'm not worried

Why doesn't C have lambda expressions or even anonymous functions?
You have anonymous structs, unions, enums, why not functions?
Why do enumerated types have to pollute the global namespace, even if they're declared inside of a struct or function?
Oh wait, let me just make it a static type, OOPS now you can't use it anywhere!
And why wasn't array size built into the language?
The standard says nothing about how an implementation was supposed to keep track of it's heap usage, yet it expects it to know the size of a heap pointer to free or resize it.
Why couldn't this have been standardized so you could use it as a foolproof way to determine array length without resorting to stupid shit like null terminators?

C is designed to be as lightweight and close to the metal as possible. I'm sure there are MANY small abstractions they could have used to improve it, but each one would slowly turn it into a clustered mess. You still have function callbacks and can pass them as parameters, so you can still use lambdas and anonymous functions, just with a type and name
>>55135364
>just with type and name
So not anonymous functions?
>>55135344
C was made by cucks who worked in the mail room of a telephone company on their downtime.

Who will be the first skynet? Google or Apple?
>>55135245
google most definitely.
apple is dying.
>>55135245
it isnt between google and applel, its between google and facebook
Apple and Facebook remain stationary. Sure, they do gather data averyday, but Google is seriously expanding on that data and gets its own too. Google has been trying for some time to get the title 'Skynet'. See 'Google Home'.
Will any wired USB mouse/keyboard work with a Thinkpad T420 using Debian?
what reason would lead you to believe they wouldn't?
I would assume only special gaymen ones might not work out of the box, at least with all their features.
>>55135241
well, Amazon has a filter for "platform support" and allows you to select from Windows/Mac/Linux, so I just wanted to be sure. also, any recommendations as far as <$50 mice/keyboards go?
>>55135251
>"platform support"
this is a normie kind of thing
>recommendations as far as <$50 mice/keyboards go?
$50 will get you a pretty good mouse without any fancy features

$50 won't get you a decent mechanical keyboard unless it's on sale

Hey /g/ i have been given the opportunity to get almost any reasonably priced laptop/desktop. Only problem is that im not so good with searching for good computers and not allowed to just buy parts to build my own. So I need advice on some regular laptops or desktop computers I could get that can run photoshop and graphic tablets with ease but also run desktop games like overwatch without any problems (I'll be ok with having to work with lowest quality settings) and it also probably can't be a straight up gaming PC, has to look either generic or artsy.
>>55135226
You're on the wrong board bro
>>55135265
ok, which boards should I try instead?
>>55135226
Why can't you build your own?
so i have this western digital 3tb drive, i was using my computer and accidentally unplugged my OS hdd while windows was still running (i had the case open and was looking at something inside the computer while it was running an accidentally unplugged the hdd while moving wire)
so the screen goes black and all i see is a mouse
i restart, everything is fine with my OS hdd but my secondary 3tb drive became raw, i couldn't access it
i recovered all my data off the 3tb drive with icarepro, then went to format i keep getting errors like:
"Windows was unable to complete the format"
in disk management i get a virtual disk manager error "The parameter is incorrect." i also get a similar error when using diskpart from an elevated command prompt
when i use my windows server 2008 recovery cd and run command prompt i can use diskpart to clean the disk, convert it to gpt, create a partition, and format it, but then when i run windows the drive still won't work
i can go into linux and format the drive and it will show up fine in both linux and windows but the drive only shows up as 2tb even though it's a 3tb drive
anyone have this problem before? i'm getting no where in windows trying to fix this.. i have a little bit of success formatting it in linux but i'm losing 1 tb, and it doesn't show up as 2 partitions (one that is 2tb and one that is 700+ gb) it just shows up as one partition that is 2048 gb
what do?
Install Ubuntu.
i have linux mint installed and i can format using disk and gparted but again the drive still only shows up as 2tb
Contact Western Digital for a new drive, say it was working fine and became defective upon restart or something. Same with happened to me with a 16 GB sandisk thumb drive. Randomly unplugged it one day and then all of a sudden it was now 11 MB (not GB) and empty. Contacted sandisk and they sent a new one.

How do l Hack a computer?
Sup /g/uys here comes a somewhat retarded question but please bear with me. Now i have bought an uefi mobo (asus rog viii hero ) and want to use use windows 7, fuck the metroshit and 10 i want to be as far away as possible from them, but i did not know that daz loader didnt work with uefi and that left me assblasted.
Now how the heck am i supposed to deal with that?. Is the only way to reformat and go full mbr again or is there some other ways?. Thanks!.
>>55135156
Halp!. Btw i was going for the ultimate version.

>>55135972
Animefaggot can you tell me where i am blogging?. I am just asking, since i do not want to deal with 8.1 or 10, if there is an activator or something for uefi mobo that run windows 7 ultimate.
What is the point of a mechanical keyboard if it makes so much noise that it is almost impossible to use it in the office where most people type the most?
>being this much of a pleb to not know what makes a keyboard high quality
nigger please
honestly, mechanical keyboards are awful.
i've tried 13 of them in my lifetime, and i always graduate back to my old Acer keyboard that came with my 2002 desktop.
if you spend money on a mechnical keyboard you are a nitwit of the highest order.
>>55135176
Or maybe you just have shit taste or your fingers are retarded.
/Daily Technology Thread/
Hello /g/!
I've seen this thread pop up awhile ago, and I think it's time we brought it back. This thread should be used for broadening you're understanding of a specific part of technology. Weather it be how you could start writing a z80 emulator to actually physically making one out of the transistors and buttons you have lying around!
What should we do to start the topic off?
>>55135143
>What should we do to start the topic off?
How about someone explains me the reason behind that zigzag in the traces in your picture.
>>55135153
If you mean why they're "avoiding" each of the lines, my guess is to stop data interference thus reducing the need for re-sending the data speeding up the process as a whole.
oh great another shit general to add to my filter
What does /g/ think about this bad boy?
Fugly
>>55135535
Not as fugly as the S7 active, with that edgy bad boy camo pattern.
>>55135570
True!
I'm a security guard.
I've been using cheap dollar store flashlights for awhile, and they're fine in dark areas but barely noticeable in more lit areas.
Is anyone here a flashlight enthusiast? I need a nice reliable one, and maglight's seem like the go-to, but $50 is quite a lot to spend on something that I need to work for a few years with 4-5 hours of daily use.
>>55135081
You're a shitty security guard if you're using dollar store flashlights. Pick one based on three factors in this order lumens, battery life, skull cracking potential, then choose within your desired price range.
Build your own. Go look at solarforce for bodies. Get a solarforce l2, an 18650 battery, and a p60 drop-in and you'll be looking at 500-1000 lumens with a strike bezel for around 50 dollars.
Pic related is pushing 200 dollars in custom parts and outputs 1400+ lumens in a tight beam for over a mile.
>>55135081
Pelican submersible stealth 2400c.
Thick tether to attach a carbine/chain to
Great battery life
47lumens
Switch is usable when wearing gloves
Can take 3 C's or 4 aas with adapter
