If you're gong for 8GB ram, get two dual channel 4GB sticks.
Switch the SSD for an 850 evo. It's an extra £15 and well worth it.
GTX 980TI isn't worth it unless you can get it for under £300.
Unless you're planning to SLI go for a 750w PSU

Whats wrong with my drive. I tried recpvery software but the disk dosent even spin. It squeels over the disk with the reading arm, it not stuck.

Hey guys I want to make an application to launch some programmes on my pc.
I.e. I want to hyperlink application shortcuts into one application. Like I'll have a screen with buttons and clicking those buttons will launch recycle bun etc.
I want to make this to clean up my desktop. I know I could just make a master folder and copy all the shortcuts there but I want to do this instead.
Is there any way for a noon like me to do this? Maybe with a batch file?

But anyway, an easy way to do this would be to right click on your desktop go to view and hide your desktop icons.
Then pin your file explorer (if you haven't done so already) and access it that way.

Create a new folder. Put all the shortcuts you want in there. Right click on the folder. Pin to start. Now all your shortcuts are located in one easy to reach and unobtrusive place.

I usually just lurk here and enjoy learning new stuff, even though I seldom have any to contribute to threads. I have some money tucked away for investments and I am looking at different crowdfunding projects. It would be really neat if you guys could take a look at the different projects and say what you think. I should stress that I haven't invested in any of them yet. i have this script run every week by placing it in m /etc/cron.weekly/ folder.

Hey /g/.
I want to use gentoo on my desktop computer, but I don't want to sacrifice my main drive running Windows 7 because muh gaymes and muh smug anime face folder.
I have a spare 500GB HDD I salvaged from a laptop; this will be the drive that houses Gentoo.
Does anyone have a configuration like this, or have they done something like that in the past? I would like to know what precautions have to take before attempting a dualboot like this. I don't want Gentoo locking me out from my Win 7 drive, and vice versa.
