Why Win3.1 UI is so based?
>>55225664
I am curious to know as well, because to me it doesn't appear based at all.
>>55225664
It's shit.

fucking autist
I mean it's not a terrible thing to do. Anything you type into the address bar is saved to the auto recommendations. I find it annoying when I'm typing a URL in and see search suggestions, so I never use the address bar to search google.
Here's some interesting information /g/.
If the OC leaks about the 480 are true and you can get 1.6GHz on stock cooler (around 25% performance increase), and the non OCed card is around 980 performance, then if you take the frame rates of the 980 in pic related and add 25% of that number on, then the result is 90% of the 1070's performance.
This is just speculation on speculation though, so take it as you will.

That could be even more with an aftermarket cooler
Anyone have a list on what windows 7 updates to avoid?

Yo have been warned, your nocoiner status can be still solved before is too late ;^)
Shill, ether died when their shitty code got exposed.

Anyone remember this piece of shit from the first iteration of OS X? Friendly reminder it took 15 years (assuming siri/sierra is out by 2017) for this "worlds most advanced OS" to have speech recognition. Macfags will defend below. Microsoft literally beat them to tablets and desktop speech. Macfags will defend this also.
>>55225288
That shit is useless anyway.
>>55225288
no one with any serious work to do uses osx
I remember Macs having voice control chess forever.
I'm trying to factory reset of my machine but it's needs a Windows 7 install disc.
I'm not very keen on torrenting my OS from pajeets, and my product key isn't valid to download Win 7 with because it was installed by the factory.
Is it possible for me reset without a disc? Any other ways to have a clean install of windows?
I have better more efficient solution: take a gun, put it in your mouth and cuck the trigger. You should know what to do from there.

So you fuck the triggers wife in front of the trigger?

Hey guys I need a laptop that is full HD, and can run games such as Minecraft and League of Legends flawlessly. It is for my girlfriends birthday in 1 week. Hoping that it doesn't cost over £400. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I was going to go with the ACER Aspire F5-571 but it went up in price :(

The day this system dies on me is the day I commit seppuku.
What should I read to build a computer? I want to build one this summer, having an idea what games I want to play, but I have no idea what parts should I buy for that. I don't want to overshoot so I don't pay too much, but I also don't want to end up with a shitty machine that can't run the stuff I want
google and youtube videos. Also fuck off
/g/ is not tech support; in the interest of providing information in a friendly fashion I will try to give you my thought.
I generally would generally recommend that you spend somewhere between $800-$1200 on a computer. Per the sticky, see http://www.logicalincrements.com/ per parts recommendations. I would generally go with an i5, graphics card is your choice but I prefer AMD. I would get an aftermarket cooler. I would prefer ASUS or Gigabyte mobos to other brands. I would go for at least 8GB of RAM. I would not go smaller than a 250GB SSD and would go for a 480GB if you can. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE POWER SUPPLY OR CASE. You shouldn't need to spend more than $100 on a case but a good case is worth its weight in gold. Make sure the power supply you get is modular; it makes cable management much easier. I like arctic silver thermal paste. Bare hard drives and SSDS do not come with SATA data cables get some.
I prefer Amazon to Newegg. Micro Center and Fry's are pretty based if retail stores are near you.

You can also use Pcpartpicket to look for parts at a discount, just bear in mind rebates can save money but you actually need to do them.

skyshit k i5 with compatible mobo and 212 evo, 8gb or more of fast ddr4, most recent series gpu depending on how much you want to spend, at least 128 ssd, 2 tb hd, cheapest psu with good reviews, any case, 1 case fan
So I just moved into a house where I share an internet connection with a few people. One of them is the owner of said internet and we pay him to use the internet either through wifi or a cable connected directly to the modem.
When I first connected my pc to the modem using wifi the connection was quite shit. When playing youtube videos I can see the buffering bar load, then do nothing for moment, only to jump ahead in a massive chunk, and then do nothing again. Often this results in the video having to stop to buffer.
With a wired connection the problem is the same, but because the internet is a bit faster that way, the pattern repeats faster. I asked the guy if he was throttling the internet between users, and he said no, but paranoid as I am, I want to check. How do I check?
tl;dr
Sharing an internet connection and it's shit. How do I check if the guy renting it out to me is throttling the connection?
Log into router
just get your own internet account with some provider, and get your own bandwidth.
>>55225027
Passworded.
>>55225060
Not possible. It's only 1 internet connection per address.
Does anyone actually use this?
>>55224900
My old university forced me to.
>>55224900
i've used it but only for toy programs and because i was interested in learning other languages.
it was ok.

Scheme (Racket's origin) is interesting to learn because it shows how you can do everything with pairs, lists and recursion without having to write (significantly) more lines of code.
Scheme is also possible to implement in just 500-1000 lines of C or Java.
I am interested in the programming and mechanical aspects of robotics and much less in soldering.
Are there any robotics kits that lets me hookup a FPGA or ARM board? I want to experiment with computer vision and motion control (differential equations etc).
Just get a raspberry pi and make your own robot

Left is a battery I bought online to install myself (it came smudged like that).
Right is a google image for "iphone 6 battery".
Is the left one a knock-off that's going to blow up, or is it from the same factory as the "legit" iphone batteries?
it isn't original but i'll probably work fine. original apple batteries aren't good anyway.
left is probably from a resale place that thinks they have to remove all brand identifying marks.
>>55224794
Did you buy from a chinese retailer?
If you did, get a legit one asap
Last thing you want is it to explode while you're using it
