Why is hardware so expensive in Europe compared to America?
Taxes.

Higher taxes
Oh yeah, the taxes. The finger thing means the taxes.
Rant time, /g/.
>using Mac
>plug SD card into laptop to make a slideshow of my trip photos
>popup tells me to use Photos because it just works :^)
>figure fuck it, why not try
>takes 10 fucking minutes to import 4,000 .jpg files
>create slideshow and start dragging in photos
>halfway through, check slideshow, see that the program scrambled all my photos up
>unable to sort them
>can't convert to any form of sortable album
>program gives me no freedom whatsoever to even know where my files are stored or how the data abstractions work
>no idea where my files are, iCloud probably has them
>meme features like face recognition don't even work
How the fuck do normies even use programs like this? Do they just sigh and say "eh, fuck it" when their machine decides to randomly scrabble their photos without warning and not let them fix it?
Jesus Christ, this software is shit.
The face recognition is racist.
I was trying to categorize my porn. It partially worked until japanese women confused it. After that it just wouldn't recognize faces anymore.
most photo import programs just arent good for some reason
i started photography last novemember and found out how slow lightroom is at importing photos even though i have my sd card on a usb 3.0 adapter
if i move a folder of photos its also a son of a bitch trying to relocate import it later
It's basically one of those programs for people who don't know how to manage a file system and are essentially the same people Apple decided to lock the file system on iOS for. I hate it too when it pops up whenever I try to copy over pictures that I've taken on my DSLR, but I always try to remember that the only OS that wasn't also designed to be used by technically illiterate people (and is still being used) is Linux.

Why don't you use Audiophile Linux, /g/?
>Based on Arch Linux which means infinite customization
>No bloatware
>Best native audio drivers of any OS
Inb4 >IP Address

>>55258817
>>Based on Arch Linux which means infinite customization
Please tell me how that means it more customizable than say ubuntu minimal? arch doesn't even have granular packages that split the devel, doc, etc. files from the package. Now if you said that it was based f some source distro like gentoo you would actually be right.
Good luck trying to get something like musl to work properly on arch, or even something like libressl (yeah I know there is an aur package, but I said work /properly/)
>>55258817
That's an internal IP address.
>>55258853
T. Dumbass who can't get arch to work
>>55258817
because you call install any package in any distro, meaning that creating a distro with just a specific porpuse is completely stupid?
Does anyone have any experience with Ubuntu? Been thinking about giving it a go on a virtual machine before I change my OS. Pro's and Con's?
hmu?
>>55258689
I like her already
>>55258697
Normie acronym for "hit me up" or "contact me" in non-retarded speak.
Ubuntu is commonly the first step into Linux and it was mine as well. Good for newcomers, easy-to-use with some baby steps into a linux environment. Mess around with the terminal and get comfy. Another first step is Mint or another type of Ubuntu (like Xubuntu). All have the same-ish descriptions as I gave but different GUIs.
Thoughts on Haskell?
It has a cool symbol

You should be able to make your own, those things are retard proof. You can even make it of fine wood if you know how to work wood properly.
/g/, a normie just poked my TV extremely hard multiple times thinking it was a touch TV. Is my display fucked now?

Yes, you'll eventually see white spots where it was poked.
Or if you have a hard panel LCD, nothing.
>Tron (1982)
-A collection of programs living inside a computer try to honor their God, their creator, a programmer, a programmer with the capacity to instruct the computer and create something. A good movie to learn how computers compute. Literally explain what RAM and CPU do within the first five minutes.

>Mr. Robot (2015)
-The most accurate TV Show that displays what a person with advanced knowledge about computers can do. Depicting a crude imagery of a mentally ill character who believes can change the world and rid the population from debt and other finacial problems but not only that, he also wants to give them freedom. After all, evil corporations control the world around us so, you might as well fight against them and support those that help you.

-You know where to get those files.
Any suggestions? What movies or tv shows have you learned from?
Note: if this ever becomes a regular thread, maybe someone can fix or write a better summary of each movie or tv show that gets addedd to the list. Also, in the far future someone can make a cover to be used for threads of this subject.
Be nice. Please and thank you.
OP, here. Shameless bump.
I really want this to take off because...
>people who only browse 4chan during the summer can learn something.
>Talking about the usual debates about software and hardware and botnet and freedom gets boring.
>and lastly, evolution doesn't come without change. Having the same threads over and over again makes my stay on this board shorter and shorter because I already know what to expect.
>adding a movie or a tv shows to the list I started will give users something to entertain themselves. Hopefully the list keeps updating and improving.
Again, be nice and contribute. Please and thank you.
Shameless, shameless bump.
Sorry OP but you just named 1 more than what's posted here. That's all. That list has increased by one. Be proud of yourself and go do something that'll make someone you love proud.
It's 2016, so why doesn't your OS have built-in tabs like macOS Sierra?
