For what porpoise?
that's what you get for using Ubuntu.
one to control the settings and the other to do the updates?
One is the updater and one is the settings for the updates. Idiot.
How deep has brute forcing discount code been looked into?
I found an airline that uses discount codes for their buddy passes. It's always 7 characters, numbers and letters, case not sensitive.
Is it common to get really good deals this way?
I'm interested to know too

Its not a code, its literally something the company decides on.
>gee if this weeks code is DISCNT05 then next weeks code must be DISCNT06!!
If the company puts out one code than its just one code. Sorry m8

There is no right way . That noctua fan is too big for the small hooks provided to mount the default fan

Hello /g/.
I need some help with my computer. I am pretty stumped what might be wrong with it. I recently installed W10 and some of my favorite apps and it's just running so slow now.

Unless you're planning to go into post-graduate research there's literally fuck all point in you doing any swor on it. If you're serious about it though, Vlatko Vedral's textbook is pretty good
Ham radio... anybody here have any interest? I've been an Extra class op for over ten years now. Field Day for this year has come and gone (for those in the US).
inb4 post my call, not going to happen. I'm in the W9 call area, and that's all I'll say.

said no woman ever
if it's not a rolex, it might as well not exist
and if you do point out it's not a rolex, they'll just think you're dumb for not getting the rolex
watches aren't something people appreciate unless you're in the company of old men
Women questions about watches:
a) Is that a Rolex?
b) Is that watch expensive, looks like it
That's all women know about watches

Boom, rejected.
I am a compE and EE. I am also teaching myself how to program and server maint/admin. I hope to be proficient in 2-4 years.
I have decided against the Thinkpad because Lenovo's Chinese backstabbery in installing spyware and rootkits in their consumer devices.
So that puts me in the Dell camp. I am thinking of either a Dell Latitude or Dell Precision. It's a 500gram difference.
The Precision would allow me to replace parts and upgrade at will. It is also more powerful than the Latitude by default.
I plan to do some graphics work on either my micro or mini ATX PC, or on the Precision if I decide for that.
The uni has computers and scanners for the 3d printing machines they have. I haven't taken the training course but I presume they also have comps that can do 3-d modeling and all that.
I am not sure if the Latitude is powerful enough for CAD whereas the Precision by default.
Still, I will mostly be doing programming and compiling. I will mostly be doing C/C++, Java, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax, FORTRAN, PASCAL, LISP, Scheme, ADA, C, C++, PHP, JavaScript, Perl, Prolog, FORTH, and vertex editing, 2 and 3-d modeling, etc
Will a Latitude be capable of this or should I gab a Precision?
tl;dr: Latitude or Precision for programming and CAD? Precision is also upgradable right whereas Latitude is not, right?
>>55272429
Get the Precision. Latitude is just a cucked version of the same thing.

Why is Windows 7 so light weight? I'm sitting here on a Core 2 Duo T7300 that's throttled to 800mhz, with a 7200RPM 500GB hard drive, and it's still snappy af.
Why is Puppy Linux so light weight? I'm sitting here on a 233MHZ processor, with 128MB RAM, no hard drive, and it's still snappy af.
>>55272239
The difference is that Windows 7 is usable, unlike Puppy Linux.
