Is there such a ring, a level below ring0?
How can there be a privilege level higher than ring0, which can directly command the bare metal of a machine?
What is this mysterious ring negative 1, negative 2, etc?
>>55341739
There is hardware that the "bare metal" of the machine doesn't control or see. Such as Intel management engine.
>>55341770
So if Intel puts a killswitch or a spyware in there, you're fucked and there's nothing anything running on that system could do to prevent the worst case scenario right?
>>55341818
Nothing running on the system would even know about it in the best case scenario.
What do you use your RTL-SDR for?
Friend of mine got me one but I fail to see it's utility other than just losing my time.
I mean, while keeping it legal.
I haven't managed to get it working, even for TV yet.
Should probably look for a guide.
>>55341711
- install Zadig driver(s)
- insert stick
- wait for stick to be recognized and driver loaded
- run SDR software like SDR# (free)
- select RTL-SDR (USB) as the hardware device
- press the Play button (right arrow)
- start monitoring
I mean really, if it takes you more than 1 minute to do that and be hearing something based on the tuned frequency then you should just get rid of your 'puter, son.

I recently used mine to find sweet spot of my phone NFC antenna. (using the harmonic frequency).
Also, gonna use it for NOAA

1.Cheaper than cable.
2.Video on demand with pause, rewind, etc.
3. Good pretext to "chill" with OP's mom.

My piece of shit Deck keyboard just died.
Should I buy a Ducky Shine 5 or Ducky One?
How about a cheap wireless keyboard less cable clutter and doesn't make obnoxious noises when typing.

sounds great- thanks for the reccomendation anon!

It died in a pool of semen.
Is there anything one can do to fix a non-spinning hard drive without sending it in and paying nearly $1000?
Also, if I do have to send it in, I've gotten some quotes from locals and online, it seems like if the problem isn't too bad, Geek Squad is the cheapest (but they take nearly 6 weeks...)
Should I do it? I need these files.
>>55341537
what kind of hard drive is it?
>>55342053
It's a WD Blue 1TB.
Also I've been researching a bit and noticed it has a port for a "jumper" on the back, for setting it in slave / master mode. My PC boots off a solid state, so maybe if I put this in slave mode my HDD will start working again?
I find it odd that my PC won't even boot up at all when this drive is plugged in, considering it's not the boot drive.
>>55341537
most likely the controller is bad on the board...
go on ebay. look for the EXACT same model hard drive. buy it. upon receiving hard drive, proceed to swap the control board. put back in computer. enjoy refreshed hard drive

It's fine. They're business stock so they're often available at that price. I bought 4x 1080p Dell Ultrasharps a while ago for around £15 each, and before that I got 11x 19" ultra sharp for £100 delivered I think.
>>55341228
You wasted your $20. No biggie...

I'm hoping to find some sort of bot which will allows me to scan through threads looking for specific text ( my replies ) and if it doesn't find it, then it will create a new reply.
I've googled a bit already and I've only found spambot clients on super shady sites which are probably filled to the brim with who knows what. I was hoping you guys would have some insight.
I really want to fuck with this guy some more.
