Best Android launcher?
HAHHA I HAVE MANY SEX LOT OF SEX I CAN MAKE MANY PROGRAM
Arrow Launcher. Turn off all the widget pages and bing wallpaper shit and you have a home page of apps sorted by frequency and recency of use, as well as a dock with an app drawer. Pic related.
Smart launcher 3. Automatically sorts all apps into different categories instead of an alphabetical app drawer, and gives you a basic homescreen with normal phone functions.
APUS launcher used to be GOAT but got filled with ads. download an older version, or ASUS ZenUI launcher.
Turn off the recommendation features and you have a paginated homescreen, and no app drawer as all apps are automatically sorted into folders similarly to Smart Launcher. A nice Inbetween of the customization of normal launchers and simplicity of Smart launcher.
There, now you can stop fucking around with launcher customization and actually use your phone.
Ive yet to actually see useful homescreen customization, desu. Algorithms design it better.
What is the point of using any other launcher than default?
I'm a friendless hermit with no phone so my only experience with Android is my tablet and I tried nova once and I couldn't think of anything to do with it that the default couldn't already do.
You're happily coding in C when this girl slaps your monitor and says in broken English she can write that program better in JavaScript, how do you reply?

That's Nice.

Is there a way to have 2 video cards operating separately (non-sli) in a windows computer?
Say I buy a new video card but the old one is still fully functional. Could it be possible to keep the 2nd one and have it be in charge of everything except programs specifically given to the new one? So all the stuff on other monitors or on the background would run on the old card while the game would get 100% of the power of the new card?
Alternatively to have monitor 1 hooked up to and managed by the new card while monitors 2 & 3 and the programs running on those monitors handled by old card?
Is it within the realm of possibilities or even easily doable with a standard windows setup?
No.
Also, you're and idiot.
If I'm not mistaken, you just have to install two video cards and you achieve this. Have you even bothered to try it?
>>55418658
I don't have a second card lying around.

I was recently alerted by an Anon on /pol/ about google keeping search records on your computer from years ago.
How can I prepare my PC and mobile devices so that they can remain private as best as possible???
>>55417717
PCBSD and a VPN
>>55417717
there is nothing you can do about that, the search will still be kept on google servers and linked to you (you might request to delete it but its just a smoke screen)
check you google search account settings (top right gear)
also, fuck of back to /pol/

Throw them in the fucking trash or surrender to the botnet.
Anyone know why a lot of the live TV streams aren't working on Kodi? Phoenix, cCloud TV, etc about half the streams won't work. Also noticed that virtually nothing works on stream2watch.co either.
What's going on?
>>55417667
gotta pay
>>55417687
Well I saw that stream2watch all of a sudden wants payment, but they were getting their streams from somewhere...
kodi is shit just use torrents + plex or popcorntime or something
Hey /g/,
I'm looking to build a PC after a two-year hiatus (been using a macbook b/c of work for everything) and was wondering what tips anyone has for me. I'm still in college, so my budget isn't the toppest-tier, but I want to make sure I'm making all the right choices for this investment. I'm pretty knowledgable about what hardware to get; I'm mainly wondering which bundles of software I should install (security, device/drive management, etc) first to help ensure optimal performance and maintenance? Thanks!
>>55417581
have fun, do research, buy what you must.
Mandatory install Gentoo comment
Jokes aside, YAC is pretty underrated IMO
Tiling window managers.
How do you use them to make your life easier? What's your setup like? I've just used basic dwm features for years.

I use Fluxbox with a Ruby script I wrote to do tiling.
I don't need dynamic tiling, I have static tiling with Fluxbox's configuration and do some scripted tiling with the Ruby script.
Where scripted tiling means half screen and full screen respecting the setup from the static tiling.
I have a small terminal on the bottom, so the half screen starts from the top and fills the screen until the beginning of the bottom terminal.
Full screen starts from the top and stops at the end of the screen minus the height of one line in the bottom terminal, so the GNU screen hardstatus is still visible.
I use the GNU screen hardstatus for all kinds of information, from notifications to the typical system information I need to look for.
The GNU screen hardstatus is implemented with a daemon written in Ruby and a simple DSL to update the various elements in the hardstatus, then it responds to requests on a UNIX socket so the left or right side of the hardstatus can be fetched with the current contents.
Then a simple C program connects to the UNIX sockets, fetches the dynamic hardstatus content and prints it so screen can use it, since the C program takes 1ms to do its thing it doesn't make the whole thing lag like it would do if you used a dozen scripts in your hardstatus.
I am aware the way I set this up is absolutely convulted and retarded but it does exactly what I need and exactly how I want it.
I use StumpWM because it's written in Lisp, can be hacked to my heart's content and never gets in my way.
/g/, someone just stole about 50 tomatoes from my garden. I live in an urban area and am growing them in my front yard. Obviously I should have known better, but now I'm looking for solutions.
Can anyone recommend a good motion-activated outdoor camera? I'd like one that uses WiFi and can "ping" my phone to let me know when the camera has been tripped, as well as one that either allows video recording or can easily be used in conjunction with free recording software.
Budget is about $100.

Is it worth it for $200? I'm looking for a good camera phone for around that number but, i've heard that windows fucking sucks.
>>55417319
It looks like a good camera phone. And windows phone is pretty good assuming it has the apps you use on store.
Had one, broke it because I'm clusmsy with all my phones. Yes the camera was good. Best I've ever had on a phone. DXOMark, which I've used to compare all my phones before I bought does say there are several better phones on the market now.. but for 200 unlocked that is pretty good. Hard to beat that detail and still impossible against that sheer resolution.
And yes windows phone does suck. I don't think Android is perfect and may go back to Apple, but I do prefer both. The app availability was shit and the stock interface lost its appeal over time.
>>55417364
Do you think i should go ahead and get it?
I have been wanting to create a website for about a year now. And I have been digging around online and the only thing I can find is stuff saying.
>Buy This Website Designer Program for 100USD a month
But I don't want to use a shitty program. I want to code it my self.
>>55417192
bump
Maybe you should have spent a year googling "how to code a website myself"
Learn HTML and CSS fi you want to really code it yourself. If you want anything interactive or content that changes, learn PHP as well.
It's probably easier to install a CMS like WordPress or Drupal. WordPress is easy to get started with so I would recommend that. You barely have to work with anything technical once you get it up and running.
If you want to play around first before you pay a hosting provider, download WAMP Server onto your computer if it's running Windows. This'll let you play with Apache, MySQL, and PHP -- all 3 which are required for WordPress to run.
