I am a Linux user for a couple of years. Even though I am not happy with it 100% but I am not planning on switching back to Windows because of various reasons. But this post is not about that.
It is about Linux fanboytwats that exist in surprising abundance. 'Oh, Mint is for noobs, try Arch instead', 'Oh you are med student and don't have time to solve problems? No, you are just stupid', 'I feel like people using Linux are much smarter than Mac and Windows users', 'I do 90% of my tasks through command line, hat guis'.
Fucking disgusting bio trash.
I mean, Windows is used by millions of obnoxious people, but it is not so visible for some reason.
thanks for the blog it was pleasurable to read but i would like your newsletter to be removed from my inbox promptly please thanks

You're welcome. But I would rather you stayed with us. There is plenty of boring stuff ahead.
how often does /g/ upgrade their computer?
how much do they normally spend per upgrade?
every three or so years
$0-$200
>>55494299
so when exactly do you replace your computer then?
you only spend $600 on computers in 9 years?

Whenever the taskbar icon turns from a checkmark to a exclamation mark.
Is Dell even relevant anymore? I'm planning to get a new glossy monitor for the living room, but I'm unsure if Dell is going to cuck me with their products.
/g/ is not your personal tech review site
>cuck
There's that word again.
>>55494271
I'd rather hear an opinion in /g/ than a shekel paid article from some shitty tech site.
GPU just came in the mail today
Happy to do honest benchmarks for anyone who's looking to buy
While I do think this card is absolutely INCREDIBLE, I've seen alot of reviews where framerates in games are stupidly high (eg GTA V - Max settings - 160fps+ at 1080p) which just isn't true when fully maxed out
I understand that affects like MSAA etc take a massive toll on framerate, but I'll be happy to set games to their absolute max and report back on FPS, to those who are curious, or custom settings again, for those who are interested.
I'm keeping my i7 4790k at stock 4GHz, as while some probably will say the 6700k is better, I think its a good enough representation of what most gamers will be using
(Ignore my 1600x900 monitor, I use my 1080p TV to play games. And yes, I'll buy an SSD)
that monitor... on a 1080, my god why.
>>55494288
Looking for a 4K Monitor as we speak, would love some ideas for a 4K TV that won't cost me too much, that has decent input lag
>>55494249
a 1080p tv for a 1080 GPU
jesus christ OP most its probably only a 60hz TV aswell and that latency holy fuck.
Best VPN for windows?
Sick of being cucked by my ISP
Preferably free ones are good too.
Kill yourself
whoops wrong image lol
If you get a VPN you'll be cucked by both your ISP and the VPN provider. Great idea, OP.

One of my favourites given the previous titan chips actually were good el cheapo quadros.
It's the end of adblockers: http://blockadblock.com/
Sorry, I can't view that site, because they block users who block ads.
it's the end of antiadblockers: https://github.com/reek/anti-adblock-killer
adblockers are a teeny tiny fraction in the big picture.
people make way too much noise about them and by accident may teach many to search for them on the web.

Getting dropped frames everywhere with madVR, how do I fix this?
>>55493953
Install GNU + VLC
>>55493953
Install k-lite codec pack, then reboot.
>>55493953
What are your render and preset times?
If they're more than 30ms you'll drop frames
If not, disable f.lux or similar screen-tinting program

I'm from the US and using T-Mobile.
Want a new, real fast phone that's ~$500 or less. It has to use all T-Mobile LTE bands though.
Hey /g/ I need help
I want to cheapest gtx 1080 build because im a poorfag and all i got is a shitty laptop to game on.

if you're a poorfag why would you buy a 1080
The absolute cheapest option would be to buy an external GPU dock.

I didn't see a major difference, but the quality of graphics seemed a bit better on the cv1. i was pretty underwhelmed with playstation vr
I need more SATA ports in my machine. I've been advised to buy a RAID controller and just using it in JBOD mode. Anyone have a preference or one they use now? My motherboard only has 4 SATA ports and looking to expand at least 4 more.
rocketraid makes some solid cards.
Do you happen to use multiple cards in one machine? I'm new to this much storage, it's not really high demand but have you noticed any slow down with add-in cards?
>>55493439
Be careful to look at the airflow spec for the cards you look at; since you aren't putting it in a server this can be an issue.
