What the fuck are these really, why do people use them and what can they do?
It's for white people that make money by moving numbers around.
>What the fuck are these really?
Just 2 4:3 monitors and a custom keyboard for a PC.
Thats all it is man.
Although it is designed around the notion of short cuts and how the Bloomberg financial software layout is.
bloomberg terminals are all about the data feed. think yahoo finance on super steroids. lots more data points about companies, quicker access to data about markets, and decent execution platform.
Why does the GP106 PCB have so much capacitors? It's usually 2 caps per VRM phase, why does this one have three?
Even the much larger big brother GP104 has two caps per phase.
>>55508421
Probably because the caps have lower capacitance individually?
tbqh graphics cards can't have enough caps with all those massive power consumption peaks all the time
Probably has large spikes.
What does /g/ think of Servo?
>Jointly Developed by Mozilla and Samsung
>Programmed mainly in Rust
>Works on ARM too
>Highly Parallel environment
>Open source (of course)
Preview release 0.0.1 just came out on July 1st and seems promising.
Servo is honestly amazing. Can't wait for more rust components to land in firefox
>>55508419
I have to agree, but I am pretty biased about Rust.
joint venture with Samsung? they are going down, just like Nokia after they abandoned the N900 in favor of Meego.

>he uses a 7 year old operating system
Why haven't you upgraded from the old and outdated Windows 7 to the new and modern Windows 10?
>>55508345
I'm thinking about upgrading to Fedora 24. I'm using Linux Mint at the moment but I'm unhappy with the package manager.
>he uses a botnet
Linux tan defends me from Madobe's jewish tricks
because the new os tan wants to fuck my privacy in the ass with a strap-on 2bh

Hey /g/,
Delete this if it's breaking the rules but I really didn't know where to ask.
I've had pic related for a few years now and looking to upgrade, can anyone suggest a decent phone with a qwerty keyboard?
I'm looking into getting a Blackberry again but had a lot of trouble with my Curve in 2011.
Thanks for any help at all!
>>55508163
You can buy a Blackberry Priv if you don't want an Android device, they are pretty good IMO
>>55508163
Get a Blackberry Passport
Don't fall for the smartphone meme
Priv will be your best bet.
>a small window pops up in the middle of your screen
>a loading bar fills in under 1/2 second
>the window disappears before you can read it
I hate that programs do this. It makes me think "shit was that a virus?" every time.
COMMAND PROMPT QUICKLY OPENS AND CLOSES FILLED WITH MANY CHARACTERS SO FAST YOU CAN'T EVEN READ ANYTHING.
>xterm pops up for a second

french presses are technology
what's the best french press
Honestly can't tell the difference between my parent's $200 press and my $30 press. What matters is the grounds and the temperature of the water.
>>55507982
My Kona french press lasted me for about 7 months before the top started cracking about 2 weeks ago and finally shattered recently.

the filter tends to break apart in the cheap ones after a months use
but then again i drink a great deal of coffee
I'm so sick of reading off my computer screen. What's the least eye-straining device for reading 4chan and the occasional e-book on?
get an old ipad mini.
Moving documents around is a pain in the ass though since you can only do it with wifi
>>55508008
Old, as in 1st generation?
>>55508037
Yeah but only because its cheaper, get a newer one if you can.
And if youre against Apple just try to find a similar android with a good display and battery life. Thats all that really matters for reading
I've got an old mac pro 1.1 and have flashed 2.1 firmware and have it running yosemite. I have a Zotac GTX 570 in it and want to flash a mac EFI for boot screens can I do this?
>>55507940
>Mac pro
Nope, that's what you get for owning a locked down piece of shit.
>>55507940
>mac
Found your problem.

>turn on next morning
>"configuring windows"
>time passes
>"failed configuring windows updates, reverting changes"
>shit
>check update history in control panel, massive list of updates with most of them failed and a handful successful
>view installed updates, 16 total
>old computer has similar list in update history most successful, and 371 in installed updates
Am i just fucked or is there a way to tell the computer to re download those.
>>55507869

I know this feel OP.
Try installing windows updates prior to installing security updates, it might be placebo, but it worked for me
What is /g/'s consensus on the $4 smartphone?
how long until they hand out these spying devices for free? how long until it becomes mandatory to carry them around like your id card?
>>55507841
hopefully sooner rather than later, I've never been able to afford one
Looks surprisingly fine:

When are we going to get zero motion blur monitors without added latency and darkened images? I don't care even if the panel that achieves this would be a TN, I just want something that has the life-like quality of CRT without the fuck-ups that ULMB monitors introduce.
Digital will never feel like analog, it's like yin and yang
CRT is an objectively superior technology. There simply isn't anything to replace it. SED and FED are kill. I don't know if Laser displays have the advantages of CRT, but I don't see it happening [in a relevant manner] any time soon.
>>55507793
>CRT is an objectively superior technology
you're not too bright are you?
This is in the roof of a train station, anyone got an idea of what the fuck it is?
maybe an antenna
hard to tell, do you have a picture of the whole thing?
Its a syringe. It injects a drug into the roof every 90 minutes that makes it forget everything that happened in the last 90 minutes.
