You need to create a class in order to write a hello world to screen.

You need to execute your software in a VM
Why are audiophiles so smug and happy? Do they realize they are getting cucked?
>>55514239
They are usually wealthy retired [insert subject matter here] engineers who have tons of extra cash and time to appreciate the finer things in life. Why would they ever care about what some miserable 20-something poorfag has to say about their hobby?

You don't seem to understand anything about sound engineering.

Anyone here running a hackintosh? Is it any good? My computer is compatible with the software but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
I had a very stable system that ran mavericks and Yosemite with out any significant problems for the past 2 or 3 years. Last week I wiped my drive with the intention of installing El capitain - the installation went smoother than any other hackentosh I've done but it's super unstable. Granted i haven't devoted a lot of time to troubleshooting, but when OSX is somehow making the screen turn off and on twice a second I loose motivation quickly. Luckily it's not my only computer.
So, OP, what I'm trying to say is this: a hackentosh can be a great machine if you have the time and patience to get your system up and running correctly, providing you have the proper hardware.
fonts are blurry unless you have a high dpi monitor. they look terrible on 1080p screens.
So i only torrent anime knowing no one would give a fuck if i do but when it comes to American shit, how do i go about not getting found out?

I want to install a BSD to learn and maybe eventually move away from Linux.
I'm debating between FreeBSD and OpenBSD. Other than go flip a coin is there a reason to pick one over the other?
I could be wrong, but my understanding is freebsd has more packages available, but openbsd is more "secure". I would choose freebsd, at least to get comfy with BSD. Maybe even pc-bsd which is just freebsd preconfigured for desktop usage.
>>55514036
NetBSD
>>55514036
OpenBSD is good it just doesn't handhold you at all. It is good for securing root, but doesn't do much to secure the applications in its binary tree.
I have carpal tunnel, and need a solution for scrolling. The ergonomic wired mouse I use is fine when I have a desk, but honestly I use my laptop a lot in bed. I've been considering one of those clickers used for presentations, but I wish those had a physical scroll on them for better control. Any suggestions?
>>55514013
Get a trackball instead of a mouse?
>>55514064
The mouse isn't the problem, it's just too big and unwieldy to use in bed. That's why I was thinking of something smaller and more importantly, thumbable.
>>55514013
>>55514107
I call bullshit.
Get you a hard flat surface like a smooth piece of wood or a pad and move the mouse over that. Your bed can't possibly be small enough to where you lying down leaves not enough room for such a setup to the side of the bed.

Don't insult me mate
Can you /g/uys sway me to either a GTX 1080 or crossfire RX 480, taking into account all factors, including budget?
If 480 crossfire can really outperform a 1080 like AMD claims, it would be fucking revolutionary for the budget scene, and myself as I'm building a new PC.
Help?
Don't bother unless you're into one game that you play 90% of the time like say Battlefield that supports it. Sure you can get better performance than 1080 for less but you can't rely on games supporting crossfire. I say this as someone that had crossfire 290x.
Maybe things will change with DX12 but I wouldn't count on it yet. By the time it does Vega will be out anyway and there will be 480 price drops. So either buy a 480 now and live with the performance and then buy another 480 later or just go for the 1080.
Crossfire works only in select titles, AMD hardware only beats Nvidia when DX12 is involved
Microsoft is looking to make DirectX12 utilize multiple GPUs better
Youre basically taking a bet that all of the games you want to play use DX12
I bought a single 480 with a plan to upgrade to a flagship when this generation is fully fluffed out - so Fury successor/1080ti - and we have a good idea of what parts of the new tech will affect anything in the big picture and what won't, so it's not blind guessing over whether DX12 multigpu will mean anything and so on and on

others get better
1 simple rule I hope you can guys do, please don't be assholes to those who
have a different perspective on another DAW, no matter what it is or how shitty
it is. I know there are some very laughable ones out there but ya know...
So please just be as helpful as you can.

What's the fastest, most effective way to migrate all of your projects, VSTs, samples, recordings, etc. from one computer to the next, besides just duplicating the drive?
>>55513730
This is not easy cause I've done it in the past but the issue is that the VSTs are normally in it's own folders and what not, but if you just reinstall them all you should be fine. If your projects have specific settings, again you should be fine, just make sure whatever you're using in those FLPs or MIDIs or whatever Ableton/FL you're using are installed.
>>55513796
I may not migrate everything then, really. Just the samples, VSTs and the DAW.
It may be better to start fresh anyways
Old thread is nearly dead.
