Tiny blog post:
You know that programming is fucking with your head when you see it in your daily life.
Tell me /g/, how has programming changed your life?
>>55545098
it further increased my chances of ending up lonely
at least I have a nice salary from it
>>55545098
I now know how to do things literally no one understands or gives a shit about. It has further isolated me from my redneck peers.
Also, if you just started programming yesterday you can't really say it changed your life.

Ok, I think we have huge problem. Shouldn't we stop trying to create better technologies? To be more precise stop trying to make better simulations(VR, Games, Some sort of AI tests)? Since we are probably living in a simulation, what would you do as a controller of that simulation. I would do the same thing I do when program I write finishes it's task, I end it. What if the goal of this simulation is to find out when will we be able to "recreate" ourselves. Are we actually killing ourselves?

Serious question. I'm not even high right now.
>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming Performance Results Leaked – Faster Than The RX 480 in DX12, DX11 and VR Official Tests
>The GTX 1060 been reported to retail for $149 USD, giving gamers on a very tight budget the freedom to enjoy the latest games with a large number of GPU taxing settings enabled at their highest configurable point

It has a $250 MSRP...
So its going to be $300+ for the next six months.

How could I improve?
Currently my calendar is sparse because school hasn't started yet (I'm an educator).

hello is this the cell phone desktop thread?
I'd like to mount this 55" on a swivel above my fireplace because of the odd layout of my apartment, but there are no studs in the middle. The studs are on either side and 40" between them. Could I mount a swivel on one of the studs and push the TV to the center when not in use? Aren't there mounts built for this?

I have this same laptop OP. Your problem is that it's defaulting to the Intel GPU. Go to Device Manager and set your GTX 960M as the default. MSI was retarded when they didn't put in a switch.
So no?
Who /assembly/ here? I've been wanting to learn it now that I'm well versed in C.
I've downloaded a few manuals but it's a pretty damn daunting language to learn. Anyone who's skilled in it have any advice where to start?
Pic related as it's the manual I'm using.
>>55544632
Look at old code that was originally written in a simpler assembly language. Original NES games are great for this.

Say hi to page 10 for me pal
>>55544655
Will many of the skills learned from using those examples translate over well to programming on a modern architecture? Also is there a good centralized place to find the source from old games?
Is the Jitterbug the patrician phone?

nigga you 80?
Damn, I had no idea the Jitterbug was the size of a man's shoe.
Touchscreens are virtually useless to the elderly. Their fingers lack the fine motor skills and have very dry skin, so the screens often don't register contact.

Mint team vs. Ubuntu team vs. debian team
Also: If I use Ubuntu in the EU now, does that make me a rebel as the UK left the EU and canonical is a UK based company?
mandatory GPU post to keep it real
>>55544248
Ubuntu has the advantage due to more normie usage, meaning it's more likely that they could beat the fuck out of anyone on either team, period.
Anything better for the money than this R6400? It's $130 on Amazon right now. More than I want to spend really.
I've been using a WRT54G for >10 years and its about time to upgrade. I'm a somewhat of a "normie" that doesn't need a bunch of advanced features and I'm never more than 30' away through 2 walls max. My cable connection is only 20/1 through a SB6141.
And no, I don't want a separate router and AP.
get any asus router and put that improved merlin firmware on it, nothing else is worth it currently.
netgear are fucking trash, their only good router is the r7000 and even then its way overpriced compared to the competition. I recently upgraded from a dd-wrt e4200 to an ac-56u for 88$, it runs circles around the old one while being quite a bit cheaper.
>>55544414
Thanks for the reply.
Anything wrong with getting the RT-N66U instead? They're the same price. Maybe even the RT-AC66U if I can choke down the higher price.
>>55544720
Eh, never mind. I've been out of the loop too long and had to read about N vs AC. I'll just get the RT-AC56U. Thanks again for the help.
