Anyone on /g/ tried OpenIndiana or any other Illumos derivatives?
Yeah, its okay.
>>55547856
Did you run it on a laptop or a desktop? Any hardware support issues?
Thinking of multi-booting a Core2 Mobile Precision I recently got my hands on with OI or straight Solaris, the latter was pretty okay on portables when I tried it except the wifi was really fucked up.
wish omnios/etc had the documentation and rigor of openbsd
Hey, it's there any where I can pre-order a Nvidia 1060 in the USA? Preferably a MSI twin frozr. K thx
>>55547819
You can look to pre order, but here will be a lot of stock available.
>Preordering hardware
>Before any even remotely reliable benchmarks are available
It seems as if this fool is trying to actively be parted from his money...
Seriously thou, don't pre-order anything until reliable benchmarks out. The benches for the 1060 that just "leaked" were from Nvidia's own materials and had some really suspicious settings and used old drivers from AMD.
>>55547819
>Hey, it's there any where I can pre-order a Nvidia 1060 in the USA?
You can't because it is a paper launch. The cards won't hit retailers for a few weeks.
Is 30 too old to become a software developer?

I was actually going to give you advice but then you had to reveal that you were /v/ermin overspill.

Show me your huge screwups, /g/
I'll start, the 48 port Catalyst 3K:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/636/fn63697.html
placing the reset button so close to a port is idiotic. but in a production environment one doesn't typically use cables with protective boots. you typically use self terminated cables which often don't utilize protective boots due to cost overhead.
in production environments fancy cables are not typically used anyways. just standard cables that meet the cabling standard required.
>>55547881
patch cords will frequently have boots on them
>>55547668
I just installed a stack of those switches at work.
holy shit
Hey there technolo/g/ists, I come to you with a request. Let's assume someone got hired at a startup as QA and they need to start building up skills. They had not been owned a computer until 1 year ago and never used them for much besides dank memes.
Now this person has a lot to prove with a big boy job working with computers and will eventually have to become more knowledgable so they decide the best way to learn is to make a project. The skills needed are: HTML/CSS, Angular, basic SQL, and Ruby. Are there projects this noob can do to teach themselves all these skills at once? Can they be learned toghether by building a website or do they have to be learned separetely?
Is it hopeless?
>>55547625
>daddy found me a compootah job and i can't even use google for basic research
The fact that you ask 4chan for help shows that there's not much hope for you.
Aside from that, learn for three months and you should be fine.

Lets have a moment and hack those indian scammers and drain them out of thier money.
I can do it but I dont have numbers nor the ability to call them.
ONLY TWO IMPORTANT RULES:
We document and record everything and post it online.
Second, if you dont have the know how dont talk shit and just watch.
TWO ways to do this:
We could get their ip and use zero days.
Or just trick them and send them an email or a link to control their machine.
Feel free to post ideas

Find WinSplit Revolution 11.04. Lets you configure shortcut keys to quickly move windows to different positions. Like the Windows 8 (7?) and higher snapping, but way more powerful.
For example, I have the keys around home row configured so that, for example, Ctrl+Alt+U snaps the window to the upper, left. Not only that, but pressing it repeatedly cycles between 50% screen width, 33%, and 25% screen width.
I think they were bought by max.to or something, if memory serves.

note to self.
Grab onto your nuts cus they might get rustled by my negative opinion on Richard, I feel like Richard Stallman is just another Steve Jobs in the making. Hes doing exactly what steve did in the late 80's and 90's, right now he is in the "make the almost religious cult like following" stage, i guess the only differance is steve jobs got a loan to start his buisness, richard is using donations that are given to him by his following. I mean, think about it, they both said things like "free your mind from big brother" and pandered to the same types of people that where paranoid that the government is trying to control everyone and watch your every movement. Its kinda silly honestly. Also, picture unrelated.
Really makes you think...

Yes, a lower mid-range Gigabyte board is the best Z170 board on the entire market. Nothing can compete.
