Can you guys help me convince my cousin that this is fucking retarded buying all this excessively excess shit for his new computer build? He's literally not even 18 yet and has been saving for so so long to get this enormous fucking stupid build.

If that build is real what the fuck. Get a 1080 instead of a 980TI, it is better and more price effficient. Get a 6700k instead of that beast he has in it right now, no game on the planet uses 8 cores so he will probably get BETTER fps with a 6700K for like 1/10 the price. And he better be running those drives in RAID or i will shank somone.
>>
Wait, did I see it right?

All that, and a single 980ti?
>>
>>55556371
Remove all the external drives, either switch to internal drives or dont get any at all. External drives die like every 5 minutes.

Do most mainstream Linux distros handle full hd properly? I have a 13inch full hd screen here, and I'd like to install a easy to use Linux distribution for working/browsing etc while still being able to read my shit (that means upscaling most programs). Do most distributions do that now? Or is there one that handles it better?

>>
>>55556345
They most certainly don't handle 4k well at all. Pathetic.
>>
>>55556364
Sorry I meant 1080p, not 4k. I'd just like to know if any of them could upscale programs or not.
>>
>>55556385
I know what you meant. Just ranting, yeah they upscale okay.

Sup /g/, I'm wondering if anyone could help me with the findstr command (or anything else that could be used on Windows that would be on any Windows 7 machine, as much as I'd like to just do this in Cygwin, I can't) to remove an IP from a text file.

What I'm using now is...

findstr /C:%someip% /v output.txt >> tmpfile.txt

...and %someip% is defined earlier in the batch.

Lets say I set it to 1.1.1.1, it is successfully removing all lines with 1.1.1.1, but it's also removing things like 1.1.1.12, 13, 110, etc.

Is there a CR or CRLF character I can use to append to the variable?

The IP address is always going to be at the end of the line of text, so maybe I could search for 1.1.1.1[CRLF] which would not match 1.1.1.10[CRLF]

Install Gentoo
>>
>>55556380
Can't, it's going to be used on already in place Win7 systems with no assumptions being made about their configuration, so I can't even assume powershell scripting is enabled.
>>
findstr /v "%someip%$" output.txt >> tmpfile.txt

Nevermind, I read the findstr /?

If you made this then damn nice work mate.

Still won't be installing it until it's not broken, buggy and performs better than 7 or 8.1 benchmark wise but will keep hold of this until then

Seems fine, but if you didn't write it, make sure to edit it according to your needs. It certainly doesn't do everything I'd do on my machine.

It's been more than a year since rMBPs and MBAs were last updated.

What's going on at Apple?

Is it because Skylake isn't a worthy upgrade, or is it because they moved too many of their hardware engineers to work on Apple Car, and they now lack the manpower to update their computer hardware?

Apple has pretty thin inventory and only makes as many units to keep the Apple Store shelves stocked for the next week or so.

Inventory glut isn't an issue here.

Also, if they have an inventory glut, it would have shown up on their latest financial statement under the "assets" section.

I'm currently using a Logitech Z623. I was thinking if I should stick with it, or buy a vintage pair of wooden stereo speakers and a good amp. Never been fan of sorround and the sound card in my MSI M9 does a good job.

Also, general speaker thread.
