What's a good rom for a Note 4?
Particularly one for privacy and security?

Android is based on Linux
It's possible
>>55643135
Android *is* Linux, but that's not the point. Unless you're running barebone Android (which nobody does, because it's fucking useless), Android is Linux + a bunch of proprietary Google services that speak to the Google botnet without your knowing.

Anyway to get in without changing password?
At least FileVault is available to all Macs. More than likely it will be made mandatory once APFS rolls out.
Meanwhile, Windows Home users get nothing out of the box.
I just got this in the mail and I can't figure out why it isn't working. My computer recognizes that it's there, but I can't find where to actually use the damn thing. Help please! Here it is on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/112016051345?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
This is a pretty well known scammer on ebay. You probably got scammed

did you seriously try to buy a 50MP HD Webcam for $3? You deserved it.
Shit, nigga, I didn't know any better at the time. Well shit... So the webcam scam is pretty well known, huh?
Please help me /g/, I have a MDF/MDS image I need to convert to ISO.
IIRC MDF is a proprietary disk image file format used by Alcohol 120%, you'd have to install it, mount the image and then make an ISO image out of it. Alcohol can do that all by itself if I'm not mistaken.

is your pic disturbing porn? im guessing disturbing porn happens here...

disturbing sounds like a subjective thing. i looked at that image and thought "I sure hope misty gets naked later on"
Let's have an actual programming puzzle thread. No stabbing birds allowed.
Write a quine: a program that outputs its own source code. This generally means you must use a print statement.
-No REPL
-No file IO
-No blank/only-whitespace files
-stdout must match exactly the source, including all quotation marks.
I'll post my solution in Python2 in a bit. Here's some code to get startedprint 'print'
any takers?
Hint 2:print 2*'print'
Code to test your solution on Linuxdiff <(binary <(binary quine.ext)) quine.ext
should return no output.
>>55642775
Your puzzle sucks and you should feel bad. You should have posted this in /dpt/

while they do get downvoted, these posts are still alarmingly popular, especially if your on the site very actively.

What is the most compact notebook with a bit of power under its hood, I have an x220, but I feel like even its too chunky, I need something with an OS + decent amount of ram + cpu. if money aren't an issue this is probably the best you're gonna get

Fingerprinting is the newest way of tracking you across websites.
It's being done right now by companies like Google.
Because unlike cookie based tracking you can't defeat it just by disabling cookies.
In the Panopticlick study 83.6% of fingerprints were unique, even when JavaScript and/or Flash was disabled, and this is before canvas fingerprinting was invented.
There is currently NO FOOLPROOF DEFENCE against fingerprinting (except quitting the Internet).
Google's privacy policy states
>Other technologies are used for similar purposes as a cookie on other platforms where cookies are not available or applicable
https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/key-terms/#toc-terms-cookie
ReCAPTCHA probably still contains fingerprinting code:
https://archive.is/9K5gs
This means that the majority of 4chan users could be being fingerprinted, and Google might know about your shitposting habits even if cookies are disabled.
Google releases limited hangout of how much they know about you:
https://news.slashdot.org/story/16/06/29/2038257/googles-my-activity-reveals-how-much-it-knows-about-you
Daily reminder to do all your Amazon / eBay / LinkedIn / botnet shit in a completely separate browser to your Googling or buying shit.
It's currently the ONLY way to truly defend against fingerprint tracking.
Double points if you have each browser running in a different VM with a different OS.
Triple if you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN connection.
Could the FP-Block browser extension be what we're looking for?
http://satoss.uni.lu/software/fp-block/
Adds randomness to canvases, generates random HTTP headers, randomises timezone, etc.
Bggy, and it doesn't seem to play well with other extensions, but very promising.
If only it was under active development.
Another uncommon extension you may want to check out

Still being shit on by Sony in terms of portable storage, music players, and consumer electronics in general.
Laptops would likely still be the same though.
Sony started the thin and light trend at the end of the 90's. I had the first Vaio laptop, and it was less than an inch thick (all the way, none of this wedge shape shit), all the way back in 1999.

Floens, help us help Clover. All the other apps suck.
Isn't there a more recent build outside fdroid somewhere?

>>55642989
You could always compile it yourself.
I'll manage some devices through reverse SSH tunnels from my server.
I'll be using RSA keys (without passphrase) to authenticate as an unprivileged user (in case any of the devices get exploited).
How likely is it to Pajeet fuck up my machine?
Fail2ban, you can also ban ip adresses from china, russia, india.
Do that and setup automated security upgrade then do best practices for whatever webserver you run and you'll be 99% safe
