Lightning and Bluetooth are the future of audio. Apple's decision to remove the outdated 3.5mm standard is progressive and will ultimately lead to a better experience for all of us. Imagine this scenario:

You have a large speaker and your room and a pair of earbuds. You often switch between these two.

Scenario 1: All of your media devices use the current 3.5mm analog standard. When switching between different audio outputs, the relative volume will change drastically in a difficult to predict way. For example, when you switch from speaker to earbuds, your ears may get blasted for a moment because the combination of your phone's internal volume setting and your earbuds' power, which is different from the power of the speaker. This is not an ideal scenario.

Scenario 2: All media devices use the same standard. This allows all ports used be used for data transfer, video, audio, power. This in itself is very convenient. In this scenario, the two audio devices can "speak" using the phone as a mediator. For example, from switching from speaker to earbuds the following data transaction may happen:

>Speaker sends current power usage to phone.
>User removes speaker connection (or disconnects via bluetooth)
>Phone calculates the relative volume of the speakers, compared to an audio standard
>User plugs in earbuds
>Earbuds send phone their relative power usage
>Phone calculates the proper internal volume settings such that a user hears both at the same real volume from a "relative" distance which the device also sends the phone. This distance would identify the distance from which a user would hear a standard decibel (a small distance for small devices, a large one for large devices).

I'm sure we all can agree the second scenario is better.

If Razer is involved with something it probably isn't going anywhere.

Acer got involved with the people who designed the StarVR headset, and that at least will probably make a tiny bit of headway for professional use.
The industry has major work to do if they expect these expensive peripherals to take off for gaming. The overwhelming majority of VR titles and software are gimmicky bullshit.

Alright, quick guys:

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01ECGV8DA/

Do I buy this?
189 bucks, HDMI connection.
Downside is it's chinkstuff

Hard to find reviews for this one.
Do I order before I go to bed?
>>
>>55654094
It looks like a cardboard headset with a chink display in it, and the marketing suggests it's set up for streaming media.

If your phone can run cardboard, you don't need to pay more than $25 for a comfortable headset.

Definitely. The A8-7600 is enough to play vydia in low 1080p settings and still get playable frame rates. Onboard CPU is pretty nice too, shits on most i3 processors.

The Kaveri/Godavari chips are decent enough if you can find them for the right price.
Though you've got to fix a couple outstanding issues when first putting the system together.

I'll be traveling in China, and was thinking of using an old netbook for SOCKS tunneling to get past the firewall. Is the 1GB of ram and the atom n270 going to be enough? Might be torrenting as well.

Internet there is slow and laggy, 10mbit tops, large ping, packet losses.
Buy cheap vps, install shadowsocks. If you need tunnel run nonencrypted openvpn on top of it.
GFW is blocking ssh so be sure that you set everything right.

a used thinkpad would be cheaper, have better specs, and last longer on battery
