I'm thinking about getting either the 6 or 6p soon so I'm bumping this because I'm really curious


I was planning on just going stock+rooted because I like stock Android and not having to fiddle with custom Roms but I'm not 100% on it

I'm switching over from a droid turbo which is super locked down so I want to enjoy the freedom

I did a lot of research before I decided on whether I was going to get the 6 or 6p.

There were only two major factors that effected my decision.

The AMOLED display on the 6 apparently has a pretty bad burn in problem. I bought the 6p used and there is no burn in at all that I can tell.

On the other hand, Motorola phones are said to have excellent antennas and radios in them. I've noticed that the 6p sometimes struggles to keep a signal where I've seen an old Motorola Droid RAZR M maintain a stable signal.

Honestly, the finger print sensor was what pushed me to get the the 6p, I guess it just depends on personal preference.

a lot of etexts are inconsiderate of the user and are straight pdfs or epubs of the textbook. publishers are lazy and won't reformat just because it's irritating to you.
i have a little toshiba guy that's 8" or so, maybe a bit smaller. it's alright, gets the job done, but it gets frustrating when trying to scroll around those gigantic textbook pages.

I had a smaller tablet once but one day I was siting next to this guy in class that had the 9.7 iPad and I realized how stupid I was.

Now I have one that is 10.1 inches. Much better to do anything from web browsing to read pdfs, there is literally no downsides, its just as portable and comfortable to use.

Sometimes when Im in my house I dont even open my notebook anymore.

The only thing I know is that it won't be many years before I get my passively cooled, decently powerful, x86_64, 1kg, 4K beautiful 11"/13" IPS display, SIM card slot, long living battery, with good enough keyboard keys, ultraconvertible laptop/tablet.

From there I can waste money on external GPU/CPU for muh hardcore gaymen and finally replace my smartphone, laptop, and gaymen PC with one mega-ultra-super-master-race-fantastic-supernova device.

Have you replaced the thermal paste? It may be necessary when you take the cooler off.

If you loosened the cooler you may have severed the connection between the CPU and the cooler with thermal paste, If it's old paste it's useless when shuffled around like that.

Remove the cooler, clean both the coolers contact surface and the CPU heat spreader of all old paste, apply new paste
