I'm going to a place without internet for a week and I don't have a laptop, is there some kind of cheap device I can buy to connect my USB external hard drive to and watch movies on?
>>55723466
You can even use your phone for that thanks to usb otg. I have connected a usb 2.0 hdd enclosure to my phone to watch a movie once. Surprisingly my phone could supply the hdd with enough power without burning itself.
>>55723541
I'm pretty sure my phone would implode
>>55723666
My S5 could handle it and I haven't had any problems since. Usb otg also works with flash drives too so you could do the same thing with a 64 GB flash drive unless you need to have ~2TBs of data with you for some reason.
Sup fa/g/s.
I just bought a SSD, but i don't if i should use it on my chinkpad or on my desktop.
What should i do?

Alright /g/ I need your help. I need to know if it's possible to fix or if it's officially bricked.
I have a Galaxy Tab 3 that doesn't respond to touch. The power and volume buttons work and the screen rotates when I rotate it, so I'm sure it's not frozen.
I've tried factory resetting, reinstalling the OS, and changing the screen. Nothing has worked, please help guys!
>>55723361
Iphones wouldn't have this problem
>>55723361
Have you restored with Odin? This will reflash the firmware and factory reset so you can determine if it really is broken. But I suspect it's just a bad digitizer.
>>55723504
No bait please, I'm full.
Yes, that is exactly what I did.
How do I create a website like kickasstorrents?
It's just a giant searchable database.

can you email it to me

I'm trying to flash libreboot on my x200 and when I connect the SOIC clip to the motherboard the Raspberry pi wont turn on. If it has a bad connection then it will turn on but if its firmly on then it wont work.
Can anyone help?
Throw that shit in the garbage and buy a MacBook Pro faggot.

Noted. Thanks Pajeet.

Daily reminder there is no reason to buy a 480. The 1060 is ridiculously better.
No SLI no buy

>SLI
Except for, you know, Vulkan and DX12, in which according to these graphs, AMD outperforms the 1060.
Hey /g/, I just got a brand new PC, I plugged in my Usb wifi adapter and everything is working fine, except my download speed is awful. Does anyone know how I could fix this?
Is the reception good?
Does the same thing happen on other computers with the wifi dongle?
Is it a USB>2 port or dongle for that matter?
Does plugging it from the front or the rear make a difference?
Does your motherboard have the latest firmware?
IS your OS horridly outdated?
>>55723168
Only happens on that computer, it doesnt matter if its 3 port or 2 port, not sure if motherboard has latest firmware, im running windows 8.1
>>55723168
It keeps telling me to activate windows because apparently the key i used was on a different PC could that be part of the problem?
I'm new to programming, I'll be taking the introductory course to game design at my college campus. What would be a good compiler to use? I was recommended Textpad 8, and I'm waiting for the trial to download before purchasing the full program. I have some experience in building web pages from highschool, so I suppose that helps a little, right?

i like windows 10 but all that stuff that people say about it creeps me about the botnets and stuff
>>55722982
>He has to fight his OS to feel "safe"
It's time to abandon Windows, bud. Have some self-respect.
Just realised I've been using the word "botnet" for years and i barely know what it means.
>>55723011
well im going to start using my pc for gaming when my parts come in and i thought pretty much everything is made for windows
Let's design the most comfy office building.
What shape should it be (rectangle, circular, ellipse, etc.)?
How high are the ceilings?
Individual office, cubicles, or open plan?
How large are the windows (floor-to-ceiling, large enough for people to see inside, just large enough for you to see outside, etc.)?
It must look like the 4chan logo from above
Obviously if practicality is not a concern I'd design a 666 story building shaped like a cock with massive individual offices, every single one has a kitchen, big windows and high ceilings
A fucking cubicle with a computer, that's all.
function > form
one of my weird interests is watching long videos of people go through OSs or doing programming. longer videos = better. comfy voices = insanely better.
was wondering if anyone here on /g/ enjoys watching comfy tech vids and can share em?

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:

Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.
