Or do I underestimate myself?
was contacted by a recruiter on linkedin, with a joboffer, turned out that its a senior position in car systems. Dealing with embedded plattforms, multithreading, techsupport, testing and low level OS functionality
Sounds awesome and certainly something i would want to do, except im a fresh physics graduate, and while im confident in my general high level programing and fulfill some of the requirements, some others i never even touched. (they arent mentioned in my linkedin profile)
The recruiter is not an external one, he is in the HR or the company, does this mean he knows that the job description has overinflated requirements and feels confident that i am good enough?
Do i...
politely decline
send in my resume expressing slight doubts, but playing it down
send in my resume not mentioning those pesky details and clear it up during the interview?
>>55731472
Low level probably means C so if you don't know C save yourself the time and don't take the job or you will just be fired.

>>>/biz/
I'd email back saying you don't meet several of the requirements but would be happy to interview anyway if they think you'd be a good fit or they'd have someone to help you learn to start. Then during the interview i'd reiterate your concerns about qualifications.
Is this still the best solution out there to keep track of time and UEFI settings on a computer?
no, an oscillator is
>UEFI
>can literally destroy your computer by doing rm --rf --no-preserve-root /
Who the fuck thought this would be a good idea?

With freedom comes great responsibility.
I was told by our local informatician to install linux because I will need to do some scripting.
But... why?
Is it possible to just code on windows?
>>55731441
Linux is trash. Arch is the bottom of the trash can and ubuntu is the trash can cover. From cover to bottom are all the versions of linux.
>>55731441
The cli makes scripting really comfy.
>>55731471
Don't listen to this bigot.
>>55731688
I heard something about the linux stuff (sorry for my normie language) being introduced to powershell.
will that change anything?
God damn it, Chrome, you had one fucking job.
Make backspace to go back, and shift + backspace to go forward a flag to set, don't just nuke it.
Other than that, nice browser.
OH AND FUCK YOU 2 KEY COMBINATIONS FOR THIS KIND OF BASIC TASK FUCKING S U C K

>>55731477
Even though I have a multitouch trackpad, I still use the backspace key all the time.
THE FUCKING TRACKPAD GESTURES FUCK ME UP MORE OFTEN THAN THE BACKSPACE KEY EVER DID
Can I trust Gainward? Is that brand legit?
Some years ago it was one of the best. Now it's just a cheap brand with cheap quality.
>>55731439
but its 60€ cheaper than other brands, its tempting.
Only a shitty asus blower fans are cheaper than this.

I have this mouse and don't really like the sound or feel of the click buttons. Are there any budget mouses that are really satisfying to use?
>>55730991
you can modify your switches so they don't make a sound when clicked.
>>55730991
force M7
>>55731030
also, you can take away the spring that holds the scrollwheel.
I also repainted mine (had the same shitty mouse). Now it's super quiet and looks neat.
Should I upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10?

Anyone else get an erection from a fresh install of Windows 7?
>>55730952
Yes. I love spending 2 hours downloading and installing drivers and essential software. Then I top it off with windows updater not working and looking up indian responses on the internet on how to fix it.
None of this bothers me because my time is worthless.
>>55730952
no i get the opposite, thoroughly used (OS) setups are comfy af, all the programs you need are installed, you have all your memes right there, everything's set up just right
new installations are foreign and cold and barren
>>55730952
Yeah I love a clean OS install. Plus with Win10 it does all my drivers automaigically and as updates are now cumulative they only take about 5 minutes to fully update after install. I can install and have a fully updated machine in under 30 minutes which is a nice change from the past.
Tell me why I shouldn't buy this keyboard /g/.
I type a lot but I hate cherry switches, buckling springs, and rubber domes. I normally type on a scissor switch keyboard because it takes the least amount of energy to type on (it's the only keyboard I can type for 18+ hours on without feeling strained).
>>55730891
>click clack click clack
not.... even..... once.
>>55730891
Be a man and buy a Das Keyboard ultimate with blank caps and blue switches.
>>55730891
>paying hundreds of dollars for a rubber dome
Just buy a Dell Quietkey NMB slider over dome and you can get Topre at a traction of the cost
Official /g/ non-memes.
What hasn't been and continues to not be a meme?
>>55730791
Thinkpads, Python, Golang, learning Emacs/Vim
>>55730791
Python, Ubuntu, Jetbrains' products, RDBM Systems, labtobs
Tcl. No code of conduct, no bullshit, just people getting shit done.

I'm actually afraid to upgrade my family's computers because of this. If Windows 10 ruins their files I dun goofed.
