Considering Linux is already very disjointed and appreciating how much better an OS would be if everyone focused on one or two distros instead of dozens..
Am I a bad person for using Linux Mint instead of Ubuntu? Surely we should all be backing one horse and providing as much support as possible to make the OS better for everyone right?

I've had one in my closet for years and don't know what to do with it. The internet is retarded slow, it has no optical drive, its got no memory....what should I do with it? They aren't worth shit or maybe I'd put it on Ebay.

Would it be safe to use 7Zip's encryption then send it via email? Then tell the password by phone?

Hello /g/! I live in an Eastern European country, specifically Romania.
All I'm looking for is a small and lightweight laptop (14" or less). I want to get something priced around 300-350$ that has a proper HDD (no 32 emmc memory) and is also a proper laptop (no 2-in-1 convertible tablet bullshit). For specifications, a multicore CPU with 4GB RAM would be sufficient. I just want to install Linux on it and use it for programming, school stuff and browsing, maybe host a little server from time to time.
Here is the problem. Most of the laptops under 14" in this price range, sold in my country, are shitty 2-in-1 tablets.
Where can I buy a nice laptop from this part of Europe? Would it be wise to buy something from Amazon?
