How to hell does SCP work? SSH works just fine, and I can view all the files from the computer I'm SSHed into and download them. But when I try to upload a file to the computer the shit just don't work. I've got my webserver running ubuntu server and my laptop on Windows using an ssh client that supports SCP.

How would /g/ completely malwareproof a a family member's computer?

My brother just texted me at 12:30 in the morning saying his accounts were hacked. Knowing him, he probably clicked on some shady link and installed some trojan or something. I'm really close to just getting all my family on Linux and strapping their browsers with NoScript and ABP. I put Linux Mint on my aunt's computer already and she hasn't had any problems with it, but of course, she was a complete noob and just used it for email and Facebook, so it wasn't hard.

This might be a silly novice question, but is there anything I should be wary of when buying new phones from eBay? I'm thinking of getting a Note 3 and rather than hold out for a gently used one, I could get a brand new one for $240. Is there any reason not to get a new one? NEXUS 5X: My GS5 broke and Im not really crazy about any phone thats out to buy a flagship. Was thinking about getting a Nexus 5X to hold me over until something I like eventually comes out.

Does it still suffer from the same pitiful battery/camera/lag issues or is that smoothed over mostly? I don't like that it's not an amoled screen but I can get over that.
