1 things 1st: I am not trolling I want actual advice.
1. The only reason I am not using linux is because I can't play bunch of steam games on it. How can I find out what games on my steam list is compatible with linux?
2. If I want to run windows alongside a linux OS what is the least amount of partition I can give to windows to continue playing games on windows. But use linux as my main operating system and using is as file storage.
Can anyone help?
>>55771203
OP here. I forgot to mention I have a 500GB harddrive.
>>55771203
1. Click on store page of the games in your library, see if it has the steamplay logo and or steamos logo;
2. I advice 32gigs for windows just in case, do not install ultimate though thatll take over 60gb.
>>55771203
Anything listed as compatible with "Steamplay" will work under linux. If you install the Steam client under linux, in the library page you can filter by compatibility with Linux.
As for partitioning, that really depends. I use Linux more but I give 2/3 of my disk space to windows since I have more huge AAA games installed on that partition where as Linux skews towards smaller indie games (although some big games as well).

>doesn't know her amazon account's password nor any recovery information, creates a new one

Helpdesk guys, how do you do it? I was 10 seconds from throwing the computer out of the window.

Use your own software then.
>on phone: Hey client I'm sending you an email, open it up and download the attachment. Then run the program "whatever.exe"
Make sure it's a portable program with all the settings already good to go so you can take over their computer right away without having to walk them through setting shit up
What now?
Wait until it goes back down to $2, then buy up

they will most likely fail

Well aren't we negative?
Why these GPU reviewers use always top of the line CPU's when they are reviewing budget GPU's? Why they don't use i3's or i5's instead of those intel extreme series. Most of the people who are going to buy those budget cards use i3 or i5 CPU.

Hey /g/. Currently I'm running a dual boot of Windows 10 and Xubuntu 16.04. At this point the only thing I still use my Windows partition for is for Steam and iTunes so I can put shit on my phone.
Thinking of removing Windows 10 from my PC and using just Xubuntu. Should I make the leap or just remove everything but iTunes and Steam from Windows and change partition sizes? Thanks for any advice.
>>55770915
just run iTunes in wine? You can also try KVM PCI Passthrough to play games with almost native speed.
Do it and don't look back. Will you be missing any games on steam? Many work on linux now.
I did this with ubuntu this week and it's a nice change.
>>55770939
I tried iTunes in Wine back in 14.04 and Wine wouldn't recognize my phone. Assuming that's been fixed?
Was just going to use PoL and see how that works.
>>55770948
There's some games that I play on Steam that isn't categorized as "Linux ready" like ARMA and Skyrim.
Ever wondered why things like smartphones and laptops try to get thinner and thinner while things like electric toothbrushes stay thicc as hell?
more pleasure if you stick it up your bum
>>55770897
Because a toothbrush should have a nice grip to it and needs to fit an electric motor and battery. But f that shit I still prefer brushing analog
Because people don't really care about the form of a toothbrush, they care about the function.
Unfortunately, the opposite is true in the realm of smartphones.
What's the cheapest thing I can build that will let me browse the Web, type papers, office stuff, and watch some videos? Used or new, doesn't matter.
Will a raspberry pi work?
>>55770885
I would just get a pi and load it with NOOBS. If you don't like any of the distos on NOOBS you can always load any disto you want on it.
why were desktop threads deleted? we got no official answer and all we got was deleted threads. the desktop thread stayed in point more than other generals and threads, yet, it was the only one that kept getting deleted with no point.

Do you think that in the distant future when AI is a common thing there will be computer unions to stop humans from exploiting computers and only have them compute from 8-5?

Of course not.

If I change my Samsung evo 850 to some .m2 ssd or pcie ssd how much faster my computer will boot?
>>55770764
Considering a desktop with an SSD boots in about 10 seconds, you won't gain much I dont think.
>>55770866
Windows 7 is not that fast.
I use a sm951 and sometimes I don't even see the logo. Just a bios splash screen then the windows logon.
