It's not bad. It's actually a superset of C unlike C++. The prefix notation in brackets is a little weird. Actually most of the OO notation is weird. The shift from manual gc to automatic means you're going to run into some old code in tutorials and stuff that won't run with newer version but it's not a big deal.
If I had a mac I'd probably play with it more but I don't.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 sells for $250-$270, some carrier specific configurations can be a lot cheaper.
The Galaxy S4 is $180 or less now.
HTC One M8 Is around $200 on Amazon listings, M7 can be under $150.
The Sony Z3 and Z3 compact can sell for $250~ or less as well.

Not really when you can make up those few frames just by overclocking the memory on the 4GB card, given that being 1GHz slower is the main performance bottleneck. The chips themselves overclock just as well. If you're gay men at 1080p, 4GB is still acceptable. Above that, perhaps not.
