How bad did I fuck up /g/? I wanted a decent omni-direcitonal microphone to isolate my voice away from the speaker output
>>55829423
You didn't, they are great.
>>55829433
Are you memeing? Because i've heard that they're the Razer/Apple of microphones.
>>55829445

Is there any alternative to Cortana?
I just don't want MS to collect my data but I want to use voice recognition commands so bad
It's just a retarded gimmick, you stupid faggot child. Go suck a long dick and kys yourself.
>>55829397
stfu fucking linux-shill
go back to plebbit
>>55829351
You are a MAJOR retard for asking that question.
How do you expect a company (or any group of individuals for that matter) to develop an intelligent voice command tool without having telemetry and another anonymous data collection?
The technology just doesn't pop out of thin air. You need to cross-examine and process thousands if not millions of daily inputs from different users in order to have a functional AI.
Which brand of thermal paste have you had the best results with?
Personally, I've only ever used Noctua, but I'm open to other suggestions.
I like Arctic Silver 5.
>>55829308
same. used cooler master before that

olive oil and garlic does a great job
>>55829305
buy vaseline and lube your anus
M$ is now employing phising/pop-up tactics. You click an off button, and you get a switch saying off. Process still runs in background
same with regedit
it's all a visual illusion
>>55829334
>M$
lulz so epic and edgy!
>>55829354
actually now that meme applies more than ever. w10 is console tier OS now and it will keep getting more locked with each update
lets all thank Steve Jobs for starting the locked down meme

My 1080's browsing while watching animu is 40c on loonix.
My uptime is 2h 55m.
>>55829402
That's pretty good, my 55 watt AMD card idles at 43C, probably it's little single slot cooler though.
Unless your chip is running over 94C for very extended periods of time(I'm talking weeks), it doesn't matter.
how many you also caved in and upgraded?
just did it a few min ago, gonna cry under the shower for a few hours now.. later
i just did. my laptop isnt much powerful (i3 mobile, 3gb ram) but it feels like clunky in Chrome
is this problem to anyone
also how to disable that telemetry stuff
luckily i can get windows 10 for free from my university, so i will just wait and see what microsoft is up to once the free upgrade time is over.
WAT IS THE BEST BROWSER?????????????

sqt is my favorite. you should definitely check it out. ctrl-f for it in the catalog, and there should be a thread still going about it.

Too smart to use Windows
Too poor to use OS X
>>55829173
This, some of us had Macs provided by work and that's it, but nobody tech illiterate would use Windows
Fuck this shit.
Just bought this laptop (with FreeDOS because cheaper) and barely managed to install windows 7 on it because UEFI is shit. Also, I had to do it twice because Daz Loader doesn't work for gpt partitions.
On the Lenovo support site there are only drivers for that shit windows 10.
Should I just install windows 10 or should I return this laptop and buy another one? What would you recommend?
You clearly have no idea what you are doing. Buy a mac
In bios disable secure boot, install windows, custom, then delete all partitions and reformat the entire HDD. Install win 7 with Microsoft toolkit, daz seems a piece of shit now
>>55829117
THIS.
I need your help /g/, my mom spends a lot of time on her laptop and has been complaining about her deteriorating eyesight. It's a cheap Toshiba 15.6 inch 768p laptop with a sandy bridge i5 and gt525mx.
She's usually conservative with letting people help her and with money, but I managed to convince her to upgrade to a proper high end laptop.
Does /g/ have any ideas what to get?
Here's what I'm looking for
>17 inch 4k screen
>IPS
>no 8KG gamer shit, please keep the looks nice and plain
>windows
Her budget is 1500 aud but I can bump that up to 2500 dollars with my own money.
She doesn't want a desktop or a NUC(I tried) because she's planning to go on a few trips next year.
Is this even possible?
17' are heavy as fuck
get her some 14' or 15' laptop and an exterenal monitor for when she is not traveling
Just get her a mac. Old people don't like learning tech and get viruses easily.
>>55829064
>17 inch

>Mandatory google account to use Android
>Exposing all of your personal info and browsing habits to all-mighty GOOGLE botnet
>Unstable OS with occasionally terrible updates that crash
>Bloatware up the ass
>Did I mention Botnet?
What's the point of Android phones? iPhones have obvious drawbacks but you can't deny that iOS is fucking solid and the screen and camera and gorgeous. Plus Apple doesn't track your browsing habits nearly as much as google does.
Give me a reason to get an S7 over a 6+
>Protip: you can't
>>55829045
I just want a mobile provider in Aus that didn't require a drivers licence to register.
I may have to look into voip and use open wifi.
>>55829045
What? You need a Google account to use android?
Android constantly crashes?
It's bloated?
But I haven't had any of these issues on my Nexus 5...
>>55829045
2010 called, they want the Gingerbread back.
Is this the Web 3.0 experience?
>>55829041
Pretty funny comic but I can't help but feel like it's arrogant for the designer to think his job is to do anything but listen to the client's desire. Even if the end result is terrible it's not like it matters.
>>55829136
I agree but if you never sold a website to anyone you can't understand how clients suddenly pose a design experts even for a 400$ job
the web 3.0 experience is huge faux-minimalistic flat design websites that look like shit and are extremely bloated due to loads of javascript, flash and ads
This is getting annoying.
We're comparing old Gpus in different price brackets?
What are you getting at here?
>>55829023
the 6990 also launched in 2011 for $999 and it's now abandoned.
