Wow. Did you really just respond in this fashion?
Congratulations on your white penis sir.

>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>sneaky bastards will try to convince you into believing that cheating can be evaded, it can't and you will be banned with those bastards laughing at you
>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview at What.cd

What do you think about a full e-ink screen phone witch solar panels in the back and weeks of battery life? Would it be an advancement in the phone industry? Would you buy such a thing? why/why not
>>55832769
I must add that it would have an extremely fast refresh rate as opposed to the current e-readers in the market such as amazon kindles and kobo's

On who's authority?
Let's have a PC building thread since all other related threads are just AMD vs. Nvidia memes.
What do you think about my first draft? I'll admit that I don't know much about current PC hardware, this is more or less adapted from Logical Increments.

Buy a cheaper cpu and buy a better gpu
>>55832128
The 1070 is almost 200€ more expensive though, I don't wanna spend more that 1k in total.
>>55832234
You dont have to get a 1070 you can get an older gpus or even amd one.
Now the upgrade is over, I'm curious to know if anyone has Windows 7 or 8.1 still and did not upgrade to Windows 10.
I know a few who did.
They will have fun paying 100 bucks in a couple years when their OS is fully obsolete.
The irony of them thinking 7 and 8.1 dont have spyware is palpable.
Still on XP.

Your thoughts on the new start menu?
Get better used to it because it will be yours on August 2nd.
>>55831089
I realized I'm actually not using the start menu for anything apart from shutting the PC down.
Got shortcuts to just about anything I might need, so it doesn't even bother me.
It looks the same.
>>55831089
Not seeing anything different on mine.
how can freetards even compete?
>>55829893
Apparently they can, considering that most of the Internet runs on free software that was certainly not developed with the """Visual Studio""".

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

>it looks hideous for a tablet
Didn't you look at it before buying it online? Cmon man.
The Tablet series up until maybe X240 Tablet look garbage.
>Is the X220 any better?
X220 is good, mine had heat problems that were fixed by disabling intel speed step and by applying PERFECT THERMAL PASTE desu
The hinges are undoubtedly better because the tablet uses one hinge.
I'd stick with the tablet version, you'll end up losing money by swapping one for the other, and it'll essentially be the same specs.

Yeah but I didn't expect the x220t to look this ugly. Not to mention the battery life is 3.5 hours!

How hard is it to set up a private email server? I want to be like the rich people.
So my PVM's manual says it supports component Y/R-Y/B-Y or RGB, but when I use it with my PlayStation 2 only Y/Pb/Pr works, when I set it to RGB the colors and picture glitch out badly. Anyone know what's up?
I just set up mpc with a ton of extra things like svp, madvr, etc for the first time.
I went for full performance and I noticed my parts were hitting some relatively high temps (CPU around 70 C and GPU around 80 C).
Are those temperatures high enough to damage the parts or is it alright?
Almost every. fucking. day...

there's like this weird point of technical incompetency i don't understand how retards like OP can get to
if you're able to use google, find the dumps of your bsod logs, get their codes, track them, post on a tech board and are literate, how are you still such a dipshit that you are having problems with windows?
