Why is this allowed /g/?
Because you let them do it to you.
Why would anyone use outlook in the first place?
>>55851943
Since i still use it as www.hotmail.com,
free e-mail service :-)
but when it went live it went to shit, and now its "outlook", and now its heaviest and purest form of cancer out there.
>>55851916
Where am i letting them exactly?
Are these temps normal? Win 7 x64 btw
i5 2500k
>40-50c idle
>60c while gaming
Radeon HD 6950
>50-60c idle
>70c gaming
Using 212 on the processor.
Cleaned out dust
AC is on
Great airflow, clean wiring.
Ive never re applied thermal paste to anything. My parts are 5 years old.
Yes
Now fuck off back to /v/
the i5 at idle seems a little wierd, but 60c is perfectly fine, my 3570 gets up to 70c with a stock cooler while oc'd, they usually can get up to around 85c before it gets bad
can't comment on the 6950

FreeBSD security is a joke.
tl;dr - All their tools run as root, updating FreeBSD for security flaws can cause you to GET owned, insecure default settings everywhere, no memory protections, OS comes with unsupported version of OpenSSL, etc.
Any thoughts, /g/entlemen?
Just switch to linux already
>implying anyone takes freebsd seriously in the first place
>>55851973
Don't you have anything better to do than shitpost in BSD related threads?
Is GSYNC on a monitor worth it? it costs around 200$ extra. I play games like Overwatch, Diablo etc
>I play games
144hz > 1440p > 120hz > gsync/freesync > 4k > 1080p > 60hz
>>55851829
It's worth it when it's called FreeSync.
it literally only eliminates screen tearing. that's it.

>ppl still tell me that I need swap
>they have 8GB and 4GB swap
are they retarded?
OK enough shitposting, I dont use swap since 2008 when I got 6GB of ram
ppl told me that eventually I will run into issues.
FUCK OF! 8 years no issues !!! not a single problem because of turned off swap.
when will swap fucks learn?
i have 8GB of RAM and 512MB of SWAP on my SSD but i cant fill my ram even if i open all of my programs+games
I don't know, Mr. Poo.
SWAP = RAM*2+512MB
anything else is a memesize

Light years it's a unit of distance, not time.
You could be light years ahead, but still inferior to the competition
Two separate SSDs vs both in RAID 0? Which one is better, /g/?
>>55851641
If you make regular backups, RAID 0. If you don't, separate drives.
>>55851670
Does RAID 0 increase the chance of the SSDs dying?

Is 32GB of RAM overkill? Why?
And what does MHz have to say when buying RAM?
>>55851527
There's no such thing as overkill. The faster and bigger is better.
>>55851601
Thanks for complimenting my car and my dick.
>>55851601
I'll buy 2x8GB 2666MHz, then two more if I need it later.

Anything impressive unlike pic related that I'm working on?
the last thing I did was a Lights Off solver for general rectangular board sizes using a straightforward method I discovered. I found out later someone wrote a paper on in 20 years ago, so I'm a little late
include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <time.h>
int main(void)
{
srand(time(NULL));
while (1)
{
char c = rand();
if (c >= '!' && c <= 'z')
putchar(c);
}
}
>>55851554
It's good practice though, whether someone else did before you or not
What can I Stuff into a tower so it'll crush rendering 4K videos?
Rendering is CPU intensive right?
I was thinking daul Xeons?
>>55851471
Just smack dual hexa core opterons plus a few professional workstation AMD GPU's and 128 gigs of ram with a few 1 tb ssd's in raid 0 with a decent software based Raid card and your gucci.
>>55851498
Did I say hexa? I meant 16 core Opterons.
My bad.
>>55851519
>hexadecimal cpu
Why is AMD so shit on the desktop? Or at least their CPUs. I had owned an 8150 for almost 2 years now, and I just recently decided to upgrade to an i7-5820k, and Jesus fuck the difference is astonishing, I actually have PCIe 3.0, more than 2 USB 3.0 ports, USB 3.1 type C, and not to mention increased performance and less heat output.
Why is AMD so fucking shit
Because The FX series is old as balls?
Seriously, why do you even bother trash talking AMD processors when you know Zen is coming?
Granted, it's taking too goddamn long, and I have a 6700k otw, myself, because I'm impatient as fuck and have more money than sense, but that's besides the point. My 8350 was gr8 while it lasted. It'll make an excellent living room rig.
>>55851348
>this triggers the pajeet
Careful now, this place is filled with AMD marketers.
I went FX 8120 -> i7 3770 myself and the difference was night and day.
Buying an AMD cpu is about the most fucking retarded thing you could possibly do. I wish I knew better when I got mine. The only scenario where it's justified is if you're build a machine to render stuff exclusively.
It's hilarious seeing people buying AMD cpus, then they have to get an expensive motherboard to overclock that shitty POS, which already rules out any matx offering because there are no am3+ matx mobos in existence with good power regulation. Then they have to buy an aftermarket cooler instead of just going with any i5 with its stock cooler and literally the cheapest board they could find while getting WAY better performance. The amd price/performance thing is the biggest bullshit I've seen, specially since it doesn't pay for the headaches you're gonna have with its subpar performance.
>>55851391
They were already hot garbage when they came out, having fucking half the IPC of intel cpus at the time they did. The bulldozer is such a shitty lineup even the fucking phenom outclasses it and Vishera is just a polished turd because it's barely even 10% more efficient than the original POS.
>Zen is coming
Gig fucking whoop. As if every single amd promise didn't fall flat on its face since the bulldozer days. This "n-next a-amd t-thing is g-gonna fix e-everything!" shit has more than gotten tiresome already.
>>55851438
Wew lad, you wrote that entire post?
Also, it's common knowledge that AMD bet on multicore, and Intel bet on ipc. In alot of things that aren't gaymen, FX series is still a great deal. Even then, it's only recently become a noteworthy bottleneck in anything but a handful of games.
Which one should I get /g/? Really torn between these. I've got an android phone so I'm bought into google's ecosystem, but iPads are sort of the better tablet.
Would be using it mostly for web browsing/media consumption and RDP sessions to my main PCs
Why would you get either of these when a Surface is a better device in every single way?
>>55851261
I would say pixel c if it supported chrome OS, but because it doesn't, >>55851331
literally get the cheapes possible Surface Pro 4 variation, it's better than everything.
