Hey it's almost as if this would make microshaft's EULA about having ownership of all your data and viewing it at their leisure apply to the entire operating system
/g/ I have never asked for help before but I really need it now.
I have a dell 1909w and a u2515h and a tv. I just bought a gtx 1070 but Im having major problems with it.
1) Using my DP to miniDP cable causes screen to go black whenever I switched to 1440p in a game, restarting the monitor or swapping to hdmi and then back to minidp sometimes fixed this.
2) black screens started becoming more frequent. Sometimes when booting no image would start on the monitor and I would have to switch between hdmi and miniDP to get the image on screen so I can log in.
3) Now I cant get any image on any screen when I boot up my pc, I have tried different cables, dvi, hdmi, DP to miniDP and none of them will load an image on either of my monitors or my tv from any slot out of the gpu. They all work fine when coming from the motherboard slots.
What he hell is the problem? Does this usually happen with faulty gpus? what can I do to fix it? Do I need to get the gpu replaced? What things can do to narrow down the problem? Is there anything else you'd like to know? /g/ Im begging you.

Whats so bad about Seagate?/What is WD doing better than Seagate ?
>>55896886
That graph is telling me that Seagate is the only Hard Drive Company that managed to half their Failure Rate percentage and that WD fails more often than Seagate.

He means Dropbox spies on it's users and you should avoid dropbox.
I think if you have to use dropbox use a different login details and own-encrypted files before backing up.

What kernel do you use? The LTS?
Why are you killing amd?
>approx 5-6 weeks ago the rx480 hypetrain takes off
>people start citing Korean and Indian benchmarks showing it can beat a titan x while running extremely cool and overclocking upwards of 1500mhz
>other benchmark's aren't that optimistic
>"it will beat the 980, perhaps the 980ti after oc"
>the rx480 reference comes out
>cooler is a pajeet-tier poo blower, card runs hot, almost 0 oc ability, barely beating the 3,5g meme card
>a few days of virtual silence from amd shills on /g/
>suddenly Doom releases the Vulkan patch
>AMD shills going apeshit over it, babbling about the "insane" performance boost and "inevitable" implementation of vulkan and async in all major titles to come, pronouncing gtx 1060 dead on arrival
>Nvidia statement: "1060 will give you 980 performance"
>"Hurr, no way, overhyped, rushed paper released shit, cheap parts, rx480 will destroy it"
>Nvidia carries out a proper launch, dozens of non-references versions available instantly, first reviews show it to be roughly on par with the 980, the MSI 1060 barely hitting 60+ degrees at full load while running virtually silent, tons of OC headroom available, 10 fps better than the rx 480, even dx12 don't show the rx480 to gain that much of an advantage
>"M-m-muh sapphire rx480 nitro, m-m-muh fat fuck from sapphire nation and his removable fans"
>Nitro comes out
>much louder and hotter than the 1060, very little oc potential, only slightly better than the reference design in terms of performance
>the only shill left on /g/ is some neckbeard faggot who keeps spamming gargantuan tinfoil diatribes about how nvidia utilizes shady tactics to keep AMD down
>still no aib rx480 available to purchase and msi is the only one running relatively cool and silent
AMD is getting killed by its own fanboys.
Well if AMD actually released a good product that'd go a long way
>>55896825
But the rx480 is actually breddy gud, just not as power efficient as the 1060. If they had marketed it as a replacement for the 380 (and kept the price hovering around 220$) it would've really hit a sweet spot.
AMD curry niggers done goofed. Coulda just said the rx480 will be mid-range.
THANK YOU BASED WINDOWS 10.

So, I've been thinking about upgrading my I5 2500k for an i7 2600k, and dropping some faster ram in my motherboard.
Having an I7 over an I5 seems to matter more in modern games than it used to.
Average frame rates are about the same between them but minimum framerates are significantly higher than with an I5.
And to be honest, that is what matters, I want to get rid of those big drops in FPS.
Some extra information.
Currently running my 2500k with an oc'd 980ti and I game on 1440P

AM I BACK TO 2011?
I'm software developer that has no idea what the fuck I'm doing with computer hardware. I'm a disgrace, I know.
I'm trying to get into it, and I've decided to build my own rig and learn about each part as I go. Does anyone know of any good, well-rounded reads I can flip through that will not only be informative, but also review products? I do know the VERY basics, but I really want to up my knowledge base. Im not necessarily looking for an all in one solution, a few pages that are trustworthy will do fine. I've browsed Google but I just don't know how to tell who REALLY knows what they're talking about, so I've decided to trust you strangers.

Wikipedia.
Its well explained there.
Also whats there to know?
The cpu is the unit that translates /calculates binary to orders pretty much
The graphics card is responsible for heavy calculations like 3d modeling
The power supply as its name, supplies power.. Tranferring certain amounts depending on its capacity and if its bronze gold titanium
The ram is random memory that the computer uses since its faster to reach stuff in there, stuff that are active, like programs that you are currently using, games, your os.
Hard disk is a storage unit for everything... Pretty sure you know what this does
The motherboard transfers electricity(from the psu) to ports and cards and components connected to it, such as graphics cards, sound cards, usb ports..
Still. Read wikipedia.
My explanation is pretty shit.
