Best program to rip copywrited DVDs. GO
Just copy paste everything from inside.

>You will never have a computer shaped like half an egg anymore
Why must the desktop market but ruled by soulless people? Hell, Apple's own top-shelf desktop is a garbage can.
Or a computer shaped like a lamp.

Sorry, no nineties anymore.

I want someone to make a monitor stand replica of this. With a USB optical drive in the weighted base.
Who the actual fuck are they supposed to sell this to? Who is the target audience here?
It obviously not casual PC users, but it can't be gaymers either, as the 6700K mostly still beats the crap out of this chip while costing 1/5th of the price.
And even when it doesn't, the overpriced 10-core only gets about 5 more fps or so. But even if the margin was bigger, it's still waaay too expensive. Only the richest of rich kids can afford to spend so much money on a single component.
So is it meant for professionals? But they can buy a much cheaper Xeon 10 core if they would want one. Not to mention how Xeons are much better suited for professional work.
Also the whole X99 chipset is predominantly marketed towards gaming enthusiasts.
So who the hell is supposed to buy this thing /g/?
Even with a DX12 game that's optimised for multiple cores, the difference with the 6700K is only 2 fps at most.
And here it gets BTFO in both DX11 and 12
And here the 6700K's minimum performance is actually higher than the 6950X's average. So clearly this thing couldn't have been designed for gaming.

Correction, it was minimum and average fps here
Now that the dust has settled, how would you clean this shit?
>>55901204
With a flamethrower. That smell's never coming out.

It's out. What do we know so far?
Does it catch fire or does the cooling actually work? Did you surrender to our chink overlords yet?

Some anon recommended them to me about a month ago.
I use z623 like the poorfag roody-music loving faggot that I am.
Kind of getting bored of having no mids or highs tho.
Open source enthusiasts, what's the last change you made to open source software for your personal use?
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT
>>55900938
you seem to be confusing open-source software with free software

That guy is cheesin
I just started a new job and think I do not have the expertise. I'm fresh out of college and panicking. I'm luckily in a training program so have some time to get up to speed.
I did not know what team I would be on until I got here and they put me on back end web services. I've never done web services before. What are some resources I could draw from (books, videos, etc) to get a grounding. I have 1-2 months to get up to speed.
The main topics are MVC pattern, Spring MVC (core, MVC, jdbc, and REST/Soap we services), http protocol, general Java webservice stuff, Junit test cases, and more (I'm copying from notes I got from my supervisor). Most of my course work was in numerical analysis, but I at least have a Java base. Please, help, I'm desperate.
I don't even know where to start.

0. Week one and sometimes week two always sucks; you're green to their systems and will need time. That's okay.
1. Figure out what you're going to make to steer your learning. Talk with your supervisornon work that needs doing.
2. If there's a base already implemented for your feature, trace code, and in all cases take notes, and ask questions until you understand things enough to have an idea how to mold the feature from the base or to add what you want. This may take a week or more.
3. If you can, write test cases that will ultimately check correctness as you go. You want to know when you're done, you finished.
4. Code the thing.
5. Commit and/or wait for some form of code review. Fix the code based on theit suggestions, retest it, and ship it.
6. If you found mistakes or bugs along the way by others or have ideas where to go, tell your supervisor, get them cleared, goto 2. If dead end, goto 1.

For newbies? Yeah. Resources are kinda trash on theory and the why you do things, and there's 30 ways to do everything which is paralyzing.
Go use free code camp to pick up the basics of building stuff and codecademy to learn syntax for web, it worked for me.
>dropped out of college
>managed to get a 1 year contract position as a programmer but nothing since then
>spent the last two years as a NEET
>every time they say i dont have enough experience but they'll "reach out to me when they find something that is a good fit" but they never do, even for entry level stuff
>spent months creating a github and portfolio website but no one seems to care
>Tried freelancing on upwork but can't even get one client even after months of submitting proposals
/g/ I feel complete worthless. I can't even get an entry level position even though I already have experience. I haven't made a dollar off freelancing even though I've been trying for months. My situation feels so completely hopeless I just feel like killing my self. I sometimes see threads on here where you guys brag about making 6 figures after a couple years or just living off of freelancing full time. How do you do it? What am I doing wrong?
>>55900678
yes. kill yourself.
>>55900678
Just find some IT/Costumer Support job and get your shit together first, then you can think about how to make 6 figures.
>>55900678
yeah you should probably consider suicide you stupid fucking frogposter

Don't know what are you talking about. Tumbleweed is breddy good.

You only talk to American autists. Serious Linux developers who actually have jobs and successful lives use it, especially in Germany.

In many cases (esp. at university) its better to write something 2x faster and have it run 2x slower.

No.
I wanted to post in the desktop thread at >>>/wg/, but now they're deleting them. Where is the real desktop thread?
Sorry, I've been gone for a while, I don't know where anything went. :(
>>55900383
At this point desu we should allow desktop threads again.
After seeing the cancer that is meme graphics cards threads, perhaps it is the lesser of evils.
>>55900410
Well there are homescreen threads and consumer general threads here all the time, so it doesn't really make a lot of sense.
Apparently I got so mad at it one day I made /g/ look like pic related.
How can they approve such massive fuck-up? This design is being rolled out this week.

>X has official Ubuntu PPAs, so you don't need to compile it yourself
>X offers native Windows/OS X executables on their website, so you don't need to compile it yourself
What's so hard about compiling?
