I got myself one of these 18 inch alienwares that are chunky as fuck.
I7 2820qm, HD6970m crossfire, 16GB ram, etc
It was free because one of the graphics cards died and my friend chose to upgrade to the newer, slimmer, model instead of fixing it.
It's really thicc though and weighs 6KG, I'm looking for a bag to carry it in on the occasion I take it out with me. Not very often, but I like playing games with my friend at his place rather than playing online with skype, it's more fun and personal.
So yeah, tldr I need a bag for this heavy and old laptop that I'll be taking out of my home once every 1 or 2 weeks.
>>55905908
Just get a fucking backpack OP
That kind of "laptops" are actually for desktop replacement actually
>>55906522
I know, but it's a hell of a lot more portable than a desktop and a hell of a lot more powerful than my netbook
>>55906522
Also was hoping for something strong enough to handle the laptop + charger + accessories
Why did Microsoft killed off MSN in favor of skype? A service that is objectively worst when it comes to text based conversations, when MSN was already fully capable of doing voice and video chatting.
Where they porpusely trying to push people to voice chat? They've never bothered improving the shitty and basic text chat on Skype, and honestly there aren't many if any text services that come close to how good MSN was, or how many features and costumization it had, or how popular it was and still would be if it was possible to use it without patching, which still leaves it being a buggy as fuck piece of shit.
i dunno either, msn could've been such a game changer for microsoft but they ditched it for some reason. maybe they just don't want to make more money?
>>55905770
because of "muh material" shit. msn was much better but fuck wincucks. they never did anything right after 2005.

Dropbox is ending support for Windows XP
"On August 29, 2016, the Dropbox desktop app will no longer support Windows XP. On this date, you will be automatically signed out of any Dropbox accounts linked to a Windows XP computer. You can sign in again once you update to Windows Vista or a later version of Windows."
https://www.dropbox.com/help/9227
Dropbox work ok in Linux?
Windows XP is 15 years old, get with the times
>signing people out instead of letting people use an old version that just werx
this is some next level bullshit right here
>>55905524
>Windows XP is 15 years old, get with the times
Older than you, eh?
Fortran is older than most but it's still supported.

I think I'll stick to Windows and utorrent.

I don't think YOU do any thinking. The website ITESELF got hacked, but hey, lets blame all of the open source software hosted on the website. Fuck you're dumb
>>55905528
When was the last time Microsoft's website was hacked and started distributing malware to users?
Checkmate, freetard
>>55905543
Uh hello? Anyone home? Is FossHub.com an open source website??
How do you guys enjoy Windows 10 anniversary update?
I think it's rather sleek and I enjoy the new features.

No one uses that shit, be real people.
>>55905362
>No one uses that shit
So few people use it, that MS decided to add a Linux subsystem to Windows.
>>55905386
yeah, but that's only temporary until they buy it out

had to mess around in registry to change bleeding white title bars else nothing to complain about as long as I can watch my Chinese cartoons on it
So I just put together a new system. i5-6600k, 16GB DDR4, MSI GTX 1080, Corsair RM 550x PSU. I somehow seem to be getting 15-45FPS across the board in every game I have regardless of settings or resolution. I have the latest drivers installed. Furmark shows I'm not thermal throttling and that GPU usage is at 100% when testing. It only applies to games. I have no idea what the hell is going on. Tried googling and didn't turn up much. Pls help I'm scared I wasted $700.
pls respond
Right off the bet it sounds like your PSU isn't powerful enough
Reinstall windows, if that doesn't work then return your GPU
Install gentoo
>the new address bar in FF48
Why do they want me to switch to a different browser so much? Is Edge worth using after W10 Anniversary gave it browser extensions?
Why don't you use chrome? they both are pretty good botnets, but Microsoft has shit history with browsers

The programmers working at MS now didn't write any of the code currently in the Windows codebase. They don't know how it works. The guy before them who was ten times smarter and got paid twice as much barely understood it, and he wrote it. That guy's been gone for years now, and well all the indians now is "something happened".
This is why Vista took so long and Longhorn was abandoned.

What am I reading
this whole MBR/GPT BIOS/UEFI thing is really going to fuck everyone over and they don't have any clue as to how to fix it.
I feel so sorry for these sysadmins forced to use Win10 Pro getting fucked around with mystery GP/Registry/HOSTS bullshit. I'd be formatting and setting up a PXE server to install Linux and OpenOffice.
I'm studying CS and am kind of proeficient with Linux. Can I land a job as a sysadmin for my university/library/ etc without a cert? If so what networking books/courses should I read? I've started watching the cybrary network+ videos and they seem good enough.
Also where can I find good labs for gns3 or otherwise? And how big/complex can I expect networks to be in non-it related organizations?
It's just that everywhere I go looking for info on how to learn networks and stuff is like "YOU HAVE TO DO CCNA, RHCE, CCNP, BUY 5000 BUCKS WORTH OF EQUIPMENT AND APPLY FOR THE HARDEST JOB EVER" and that doesn't really click with me. I like learning at my pace and learning what interests me.
Plus I know there are a lot of sysadmins working for schools, museums and what have you wich haven't got any certs at all.
To be honest I'm more interested in security but there aren't a lot of jobs on that field in my country anyways.
>>55904424
This is relevant to my interests. Out of curiosity, why don't you get a cert anyway? It's like ~$500 and makes your question moot
>>55904788
Because it's completely overkill and 500$ here are like almost a full minimum salary and I am a college student as I said. I've heard here most people who enter sysadmin positions don't have certs.
