Why can't I update all my drivers at once? I don't even know what a driver is. All I know is that my screen got stuck at full brightness, somebody told me to update my drivers, and it worked, but I didn't know which drivers to update so I went through the list and updated them all. Why isn't there an "Update All" button?

Need to set up a fileshare with an access right and folder/share structure as an intern project. I need to spice this whole thing up a bit but do not how. Anyone has any ideas how you could make this more interesting than it just be an install orgy + gpo and security groups?

I plan on comparing VM + physical server as fileservers in regards to network performance, looking at best practices for fileshares.
There doesn't seem a whole lot I can add to the soup here that has more technical depth.

Any ideas, at all?

So i'm in need of a new system, mainly gaming and every day use / light work after the office. Coming from a i5-4210u and 820m, this will be my main pc.

I'm not living at my home, i'm in another country with nothing too much sure about where i'll stay next month and my current job otherwise i'll get a tower (still miss my phenom b55 + hd5770).

I found this laptop:

Clevo P775DM3 (OBSIDIAN-PC vendor)

Intel i7 7700K (delidded + liquid metal)
GTX 1080 8GB
16 GB HyperX Impact 2400 (there is another option also, not really expert about ram can't really tell)
500GB Samsung 960 EVO
1TB FireCuida SSHD (no idea about sshd)


The monitor can be FHD 75hz IPS or QHD 120hz TN (i'm looking more at TN panel because of the refresh and resolution)


This for around 3000€.

I know a tower is better, i just want to hear others opinion.
I heard also about 7700k temps but being delidded if it stays at around 70-80° should be fine!? Same for the gpu. The vendor also say is does a "Lap & Gap" test for the coolers for better performance.

If the performance are there, the heat is handled ok and it will last me 4-5 years, should be an ok investment.

anyone ever mess with Habitica? Its a FOSS (GPLv3) social accountability app not (yet) overwhelmed with faggots and normalfags. Seems like a decent tool for a NEET to sort themselves out. Any anons wanna try it out?

My friend's dad has put this "Qustodio" shit on all of his devices that allows him to track my friend's location 24/7, read his private text messages, block access to YouTube and other apps, block Internet access, and now on my friend's iPad he can't delete any apps (even games) and he can't turn the VPN off. His Settings are now very limited, and he can't even text me at the moment because of this bullshit. Any 4channers know what can be done?

Dear /g/,

I am looking for an alternative program to KatMouse, or for a possible explanation as to why KatMouse stopped working on my PC (Win 8.1).

KatMouse is a program that allows the user to scroll in whichever window the mouse is hovering over, as opposed to always scrolling in the window that is currently open or highlighted.

For example, if I have two windows, one of which is active, and i scroll over the non-active window:
1) with katmouse, the non-active window will scroll
2) without katmouse, the active window will scroll.

I understand this is a standard feature in Macs.

Any recommendations would help - I find this to be a very helpful tool.

I know GIMP doesn't have all features like Photoshop but for Hobbyists you can at least get decent results.

But is there any free video editing software that's even remotely comparable to Premiere? Windows Movie Maker is a joke. And I don't have a Mac so iMovie is out of the question.
