Why does a phone need a Magnetometer, Barometer, Gyroscope and Gravity sensors?
What the heck. Has science gone too far?
>>55968247
Are you stupid?
Compass, weather, orientation, acceleration(?)
>>55968270
The phone doesn't measure the weather. It takes data from servers.
I understand the compass part. But that doesn't excuse the barometer, accelerometer, gravity sensor or gyroscope.
>>55968412
>The phone doesn't measure the weather. It takes data from servers.
There's no reason it can't measure the atmospheric pressure locally and get other information from the internet. That said, it's more likely for one of the other reason you would want to know atmosphere pressure, like measuring the altitude. The gyroscope is for measuring the angular momentum, so you can do things like tilt the phone to steer in a racing game.
I don't know how you don't understand what the other things are for, they're pretty obvious.

Redpill me on BLU smartphones /g/. They seem like they are all pretty cheap, but are they just pure shit because they are cheap?
BLU Advance 5 is one of the best selling smartphones on Amazon, and its under $100. Customer reviews seem to say its battery life isnt too great, and it needs a card to bump it up from only 4gb of storage, but I can deal with that.
>>55968121
of course you can deal with it are buying a shitty poorfag phone for a poorfag price. What redpill shit do you want to know? Is a $100 android phone actually shit and are these other pajeets just deluding themselves into thinking its decent? The answer is yes.
Get one. But remember, at $100, every phone is pure shit, and that $100 may be better spent on a $10 dumbphone and $90 on groceries if you are that poor.
Roommate had one, it was slow and laggy added to the natural lag of android, this coming from someone who used a galaxy s6 up until a week ago.

I can't see it being good. Only get it if you're broke.

What the fuck is Windows Connect.

Just screen mirroring over wifi.
Ok /g/ so I just had an odd thing happen. I removed a USB device from a port on the front of my case, and the little plastic thing inside it that separates the pins and keeps them safe came out inside the usb plug.
So I gently removed that using tweezers. Obviously the port itself is fucked. Not disputing that. But the device that was plugged in now doesn't work either when I plug it into other ports, and I'm trying to fix it.
Is it likely that the pins inside got scratched? Or misaligned? Or does it simply yearn for the closeness it had with that one port and refuses to work with anything else ever again? I dunno, need to get this thing working.
>>55967979
My best guess is the pins got shorted and fried your motherboard USB controller.
Try disattaching the front USBs alltogether.
>>55968124
The thing is that my other USB ports are working fine for other devices. It's just the thing that was originally plugged in that ain't working.

Linux

>>55967673
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Li

Got an old Galaxy Note 3 that I want to customize but not sure where to start. Anyone have any ROM recommendations? Thinking just going with CM, but wondering if there's anything else out there someone else would recommend more.

Hey guys, managed to turn on my PSP-3004 again.
I already have CFW on this and a 2gb Memory Stick.
Is this worth for e-books and emulating GB/PS1/NES games?
And let's make a general PSP topic, this amazing piece of hardware deserves it.
>>55967446
Yeah, the GBA emulator was literally godtier, unfortunately I can't remember the name
>>55967446
Definitely worth it for emulating gb and PS1, just get the psx2psp utility or download readymade psx eboots.
>>55969174
gpsp kai?
>>55969207
Yeah, that one
Also, I didn't think that it's possible to emulate the PS1. Fuck, my old PSP is still way superior than the DS. Too bad that Monster Hunter switched to the Nintendo platform.

Tomorrow
>>55967393
If you haven't started programming before you're 10, it's too late
When you die
Spend 1000 hours on serious programming studies instead of watching TV or shitposting here or whatever, you will know how to program well before you know it
