Care to give an example of a fair priced, up-to-date laptop with similar specs?

I have to use powerpoint because that's what everybody uses to make presentations. Other than that I don't really use any MS programs.
But I don't
>>55984718
I've got stocks in Microsoft and the US Government.
If they do well I'll do well as well.
>If [the injustices of Pokemon Go] were fixed, I'd have no reason of principle to refuse to the game. But I'd still have better things to do with my time. Don't you? Isn't there some worthy cause you would like to work for, if only you had time? Well, here's how to get the time: do it instead of some other hobby.
Why aren't you fighting for a worthy cause /g/?
lol what an asshole
>>55984564
Protip I: Nobody cares about Pokemon Go, it's a fucking fad
Protip II: Nobody cares about Stallman either, guy's a fucking dinosaur and has minimal to zero influence in the open source and free software community these days
He's more like a mascot that educates normies that are completely oblivious to the concept of free software than he is a freedom fighter at this point.
>>55984564
I always knew stallman didn't care about vidya, but if even he thinks they're a waste of time that really says something.
Is he a hack?

What are /g/'s thoughts on the open source Nyuzi (aka Nyami) GPU?

It's made by Jeff Bush so it's probably low energy.

It's true. It's low energy:

what if Samsmug just started to repackage and sell brand new note 2s with 3gb ram for
49.99 -99.99$ ? unlocked
would they be the best low budget phones in the market ?
its better than a shitty moto e right ?
>>55984084
Well yes if they had that many in stock maybe. The materials and the man hours might be too much too spare.
>>55984084
Wait wait what are the specs for the note 2?
Do they have an sd card?

Hello.
I need a captcha solving API and this was basically the only one I found.
Is this legit, I mean the website linked is dead, and it says it supports "EPL/Quick Macro/VB.NET/VB6/Python/C/C++/delphi/JAVA/PHP/Seraph/C#/au3/TC", but it's just one .dll. Do all those languages even support .dll s and since when can you make one dll for 10 languages.
But the more important question would be if this is legit since there isn't much information about this avaiable.
https://sourceforge
.net/projects/knowcaptcha/
One time I had a greasemonkey script that could break megaupload captchas
>>55984043
Not relevant here.
Thanks for the bump though.
1. write a script that downloads a bunch of captchas
2. solve them all
3. train a convolutional neural net to solve them
4. put it on a server with RESTful endpoints
I'm planning on turning my Raspberry Pi into an mpd server.
ncmpcpp is the obvious client of choice but what about Android? I see multiple alternatives and I would like to know what /g/ uses/recommends.
>pic unrelated
>>55983944
icecast for server
install gentoo on your lagdroid
>>55983944
I hope you understand this thread is going to end up differently than how you hoped it would because of your picture pick.
go mpdroid, for all it's failings. Ssh for using mpc for random tracks or terminal with scripts to add random tracks.
How does a Free OS gain market share as high as 2%?
>>55983835
Good question, anon.
>>55983835
It's free
>>55983835
You make it do things like actually connect to wifi, or print things consistently. If you can prove that there is money to be made, some one will try.
http://fc4.me/
How long do you need ?
first step is piss easy, second just a little less
>>55983744
HACKED
>>55983744
OK, so /g/ can't even javascript.
Go back discussing how good you are in C++
>GTX 1060 MSRP is $250
>Nowhere is it less than $350, ESPECIALLY not the ITX versions
What the actual fuck
I was going to upgrade my 960 ITX but I guess I'll fucking wait
>>55983726
Give it... 2-3 more months for stuff to even out.
I wouldn't be gunning for the 1060 though. At least go for the 70 so you can really get an appreciable difference from your 960.
>>55983726
Uh, I got the Evga SC 1060 itx on Newegg for 225 shipped. No tax. PayPal 25 off 200 or more discount... Try using auto notify like a good goy
Mfw I got one 254 + shipping
Now wheres that 480? I want to get one too.
I'm about to shop for a new computer, budget is limited. Probably looking to spend $600-700 USD, this will be for personal and work use, as well as school. Recommend me something that will get me my money's worth.
Bonus points if it's something that can run PS2-tier games or can later be upgraded to have better parts for gaming.
>>55983619
Buy a raspberry pi 1 and install gentoo
>>55983631
why did this make me laugh
>>55983619
With $700 USD you could buy the parts needed to build a computer that can play Witcher 3 on high quality.
I have a 1200 watt power supply and unfortunately, I lost the modular cable for the 8 pin gpu connection. Is it ok to use the 8pin CPU connector if I plug that into the 8pin gpu slot on the power supply? It should work right? all the current flow should be the same I'm assuming...
>>55983602
Try it and post results
>>55983602
Plz try, film results
>>55983620
>>55983642
it should work in theory right? the cables would be connected in the correct spots on the psu and gpu... im just a little nervous that i might be missing something
is it enough to disable laptop's camera from bios?
or should i ducktape it?
general privacy thread
>>55983516
Just remove the cables. That way nobody will know you're autistic.
Install Gentoo. No drivers for the camera so it won't work when NSA tries to access it.
>>55983516
Why did you even get a laptop with a camera?
