I've seen enough of this faggot on /g/
Why did the Gnome devs steer away from classic Gnome?
They decided having something that works was too mainstream
>>56038412
Simple. They tried to make it look appealing to average users. They failed miserably.
Because at the time tablets that had touch capability seemed like the future
halp
I changed the RAM speed settings in my UEFI and now I can't get it to boot at all to change them back. I know with BIOS you could remove the CMOS but am I just fucked now?
Picture unrelated
>>56038404
nah, there's (should be) a clear cmos button on your mobo that should fix it.
Or, if it doesn't have that, then there are two pins that you need to short out with a screwdriver or something like that, in order to reset it.
you're fine.
If you have an ASUS board, press the MemOK button.
Some other manufacturers have similar functions.
You can also try clearing CMOS or reseating the CPU to get it to go back to defaults.
>>56038404
Remove RAM, boot with no RAM, insert RAM, boot, could force it to reset.
where does one go to find a decent powerful laptop that isnt ridiculously overpriced, im aware that laptops on average are more expensive than desktops but alot of "gaming" computers are way through the roof too expensive
>>56038401
What are you even asking here?
What's your definition of not overpriced?
What do you plan to do with it?
What size do you want?
Give us something to go on here.
>>56038401
Try open box.
Just saw three open high end notebooks for 800 off.
Asked to look at them and there was nothing wrong with them.
get a used thinkpad, t430 with 16gb ram and an ssd, you're golden
if you need more power than that - get a w520, w530, or a dell precision m line workstation laptop
why hate on the chain ?
>>56038326
what phone is that
>>56038348
MemePad 13.37"
>>56038326
I don't. At the end of the day most phones are expensive as fuck now and contain personal data. It's not everyone's thing, but I don't see the hate for it.
(Coffee isn't exactly technolo/g/, but it's relevant.)
I'm a programmer, and I'm trying to up my productivity with coffee. But it's not working. I either don't feel the caffeine, or I crash even when I drink it regularly.
What am I doing wrong? And when should I be drinking it? I usually (when I'm not being a lazy pig) get up at 05:30, and eat breakfast at around 06:00. I drink the equivalent of two cups in one, according to the tick marks on the pot.
Stop treating coffee like a pick-me-up meme drug, it's not.
It really only prevents you from falling asleep, it doesn't give you a buzz, or a jolt or whatever you're expecting.
Caffeine prevents drowsiness by blocking adenosine receptors in the brain, delaying the sleep cycle.
With regular usage, the brain becomes tolerant to caffeine by creating new adenosine receptors to compensate, meaning you will need MORE caffeine to keep up the same effect.

Kyōko Toshinō with a security tip.
CVE-2016-5696
"Linux kernel before 4.7 does not properly determine the rate of challenge ACK segments, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to hijack TCP sessions via a blind in-window attack."
To solve the issue update your kernel now. If you are unable to, here is a temporary fix for systemctl (botnet), based systems:
Append the following to /etc/sysctl.conf
net.ipv4.tcp_challenge_ack_limit = 999999999
sysctl -p to activate the new rule (As root)
Don't let the evil mitm maki spy on you. If you have the linux 3.6 kernel and above check your system now.

>>56038274
well give him credit for making an image to go with it. it's hard work being that much of a weeb
>>56038274
eh I'm guessing you are new here?
convince me not to
Do it.
What motherboard do you have? Cause you're in for a surprise if it doesn't have the necessary BIOS type. Granted, anything made in the past 3-4 years will work fine.
I've encountered a problem with Wifi. (forgive me for not knowing technical terms/jargon)
I just bought an Xbox one and configured it to my private home WiFi, one of which is a 5g speed Wifi and one is basic speed. (not sure how I can have two wifi's with one ISP) I also need that explained... anyways..
I connected it to the basic speed one and for some reason now everyone in my house cannot connect to internet except in my room.
I called my ISP, they rebooted my system and fixed it, but, now I want to learn how to configure a network so that I can have some sort of wifi "bridge" between my laptop and xbox one without causing interference to main wifi network or even needing to connect to it because I read Xbox one can provide hotspot wifi?? Also, I am thinking my NAT type being "open" may be causing issues. Help me out computer/network wizards!
tl;dr
1. How can one router have two network names and different speeds?
2. How can I configure my Xbox one to stop interfering with main Wifi.
3. How can I configure Xbox one to bridge a network that only can be connected to by myself.
Dont crucify me, WSR couldn't help i dont know where else to go
>/sqt/
1. router has two different antenna, each one broadcasting a different radio freq (2.4 and 5)
2. turn off nat and accept shit connectivity in xbox
3. plug your xbox into pc/laptop via ethernet and wifi from pc/laptop to router, theres adapter settings in windows, highlight wifi and ethernet, right click bridge connection

thank you!!!

okk m8 please use the existing simple questions thread next time
so what does this actually do? I'm too lazy to do it
Apparently it makes you shit brix.
But a security policy change in the era of Windows XP update killed it.
>>56038168
This one is harmless but a few of these used to make your computer download a MBR virus that would prevent your computer from booting up.
Thoughts on this laptop?
Would it be overkill to get for college courses?
Here are the specs

>acer
prepare for it to overheat/die within a year
depends on your budget honestly.
you could go 500-600 cheaper and get Acer Aspire E15 with an i5 processor minus the frankly unnecessary 4k ultra hd.
it will perform heavy-ish gaming and meet probably any schoolwork demands you can think of
Thoughts on the Dell U3415W?
>>56038078
Reminds me of reading stickies.
>>56038086
Stallman a nigger
Get an Acer instead
made this game with a friend and its super heavy on modding. i felt it needed some way to create cutscenes and gamemodes so i created my own scripting language. cause why would that ever be a bad idea. now noone seems interested in this amazing feature. turns out there is a reason pop is pop. trailer is on youtube if you wonder.
>>56037414
Holy shit are you serious? Looks pretty good.
>>56037462
I am. the language even supports executing multithreaded code written at runtime. It's a bit slow (~500 instructions per frame at 60 fps are noticable) but it gets very complex jobs done. theoretically we could make a map to play chess vs AI if we really wanted.
http://www.theverge.com/2016/5/15/11679394/chrome-to-block-flash-later-2016
Flash is going to soon become obsolete.
Do you guys think this should not happen in our modern browsers, is flash at all something we should keep going?
>>56037405
Flash has been obsolete for a while now. It has been barely supported for years now.
I say, good riddance. The web and browsers in general are so completely fucked, and Flash just makes it all worse somehow. Fuck all of it.
>>56037405
my pentium 4 barely can do flash. it cant do html5 video on browser.
my atom netbook is the same. fuck all of you that shit on flash.
I want the flash player in my browser, why the fuck are people trying to stop me from using it?
I connected my Dualshock 4 to my phone via bluetooth, when I connect it, and the blinking light suppose to be permanent, but it still blinks and the controller doesn't seem to be connected because it doesn't work while playing games.. any thoughts ..?
Kill yourself
Any other thoughts related to the controller?
