Pick one.
Memes aside, I'm just interested in peoples opinion about it. I run a dual-boot Win7/Kali, was tired of working in a VM so I bit the bullet and installed. Also opinions on systemd.
>>56039064
doesnt systemd have nsa backdoors?
kali is great when you're learning, but you should really work on finding the tools you need and then installing the latest versions by hand. some of them will require compiling from github sources and that means manual library dependency installation. you'll figure it out.
>>56039064
There is literally no reason to install Kali. If you want to be le cool haxor then you should run it on a live DVD/USB stick. If you actually want to use Linux as you primary OS or dual boot then install something else.
Currently only have speakers in my monitor to rely on for sound.
Bought these Yamaha NS-AW1s for my surround sound system, but I never use that shit anyway.
Was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a cheap amplifier so I can use these as bookshelf speakers for my computer.
Also, should I even worry with it or should I just go buy some shitty computer speakers and call it a day?
>>56039032
lepai 2020.
$30.
smsl if you want a more beautiful case.
>>56039065
Just going to mount the amp to the inside of my desk where my legs go so it's easily accessible and out of sight, so it doesn't have to be pretty.
Does that particular amp come with a power adapter? I was reading reviews on Lepai amps earlier and all I could find negative was that they don't include a power supply.
>>56039086
Nevermind that question, I just found them. They do come with the power adapter in that price range! Thank you.
tfw the domain http://nigge.rs is already taken.

It's like you're asking to be fucked. It's so incredibly easy to just sneak shit into the installer. 1 download and now your computer is on an actual botnet.

Good anons of /g/, can you give me the low down on TV boxes? If I want one to pirate movies and TV shows off the internet, would Kodi and android TV boxes be what I should look for? Or are the big media firms plugging all the loop holes and finding ways to pirate these shows a chore?
Why don't people just use a stick computer these days? I don't understand using a shite box when you can have a computer running your TV.

Tempting for sure. However I got to jump through the ads and malwares when I try to watch movies online. I thought the android box could bypass that.
>>56039212
Because that is expensive then you have to get a Bluetooth remote.
Roku is popular for a reason.
All right /g/, I've had Intel computers all my life, and while every other component like HDD, RAM or GPU has at least once failed on me, ALL the Intel CPU's are still going strong, why is that? My dad had an AMD computer and the processor literally shit itself after 1 year, but the Intel ones just keep going.
Is Intel that based or am I just lucky, has anyone here ever seen an Intel CPU fail?
>>56038716
Nice anecdotal evidence, faggot
>>56038736
Idgaf about the antidotes but those are some nice tits

Yeah they're the only reason I'm itt, regardless OP is a fucking retard.
Anyone have any tips on why my CPU runs so hot?
Have an Evo 212 Cooler and currently OCed to 4.6GHz. At load it's close to ~85C and when I boost to 4.7GHz it's hitting 100C and throttling.
Seems way too high for what it is
>>56038709
Did you refresh your thermal paste?
>i7
>4.6 GHz
>85C
Sounds about right.
>>56038709
Your clock is abit on the high side for a hyper 212.
Probably do-able though, I would say your thermal paste has some air pockets.
What is /g/s census on technology? Do you cherish power over privacy? Do you believe in freedom to do whatever you want to your computer? Or do you prefer performance and convenience?
>>56038661
Not that much of a /g/ anon but i think you can still have POWER with PRIVACY
But since the big guys got sold out by the goverment(s) now they want to put "power" by using "privacy"
Also on hardware, i wish we won't go full macbook pro 2016 and have only one fucking port and unable to upgrade it
You mean consensus
>>56038661
technology is technological.
What can you do with a top-of-the-line smartphone that you can't do with a midrange offering? I've always sort of wondered what I'm missing out on by not dropping $600 on a Samsung Galaxy.
nothing

Good meeting everyone.
i can do like 7 things at once and then run it under some cold water to cool it off
Why is it so hard to shop for a coax modem router?
because your cable company is jewing you

Theres the distance between my PC and snowball which keeps picking up my PC fans. The tight space might also be cause the fans to stress more I know, but honestly my room is on average 65f and the ac is right there next to it as you can see.

There's no reason for your PC to be loud. So why don't you just fix the source of the problem?
So windows 10 just crashed and when I rebooted my computer one of my hard drives is no longer listed. It was my 3tb drive that I stored my games on. So I guess my hdd killed itself. Is there a way to get it back or at least recover the files?
So I went to disk management and tried to initialize the drive and I got a "the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"
What does that mean?
Says my device is working properly, drivers are good, but it's unallocated and not initialized, what do?

>>56038453
I don't get it, if you're memory bandwidth isn't enough, why not just overclock it?
Maxwel has delta compression too, doesn't it? Why would you need more than 128bit at 1080p?
